Ya... A few years ago I gave a talk at a youth group. The plan was for me to talk about happiness. So I went up on stage and stared straight into the eyes of a teenage boy whose gaze told me to "do something". I looked at the youth pastor and shook my head. And instead gave a talk on the difference between happiness and Joy. After the talk the boy gave me a fist bump with misty eyes and said thanks. And a girl came up smiling and said "You remind me of my dad, he died when I was three". I went to my car and cried because I know that what Gen Z needs is real sincerity. I never spoke again, feeling like I should.😢
@@theologistics This is a common trend on all churches in the west. You cannot blame it all on the church. This happens even to churches who preach the Gospel. Plus the church will not be able to stop them from listening to Tiktok et al. I think it’s the job of parents as well to teach values to their kids. The father is the foremost evangelist of the family.
Many churches these days are dead in the spirit so there is nothing for anyone to go for. Look at the clip you showed with santa, what does that have to do with God?
Jesus prefers that you worship at home rather than going to church just to be seen as a good person. People go to church and act worse after because they believe they have the moral high ground
@ro866432 I think you misunderstood. They're saying that if you're going to go to church for the wrong reasons, don't bother because you'd be better off staying home. This is not to say you don't have to go to church. Yes, your supposed to go but not for that reason. I hope that's what they're saying.
Agreed. I went for a few years when i turned 18 and moved out of parents house. The people were nice, the girls cute. Made alot of friends and the pastor really would be more of a "lets learn about biblical archaeology and learn about the path of all the translations etc. "when we built a giant church after we got many new mostly young people who would just help each other with every aspect of life and give food to needy. A new pastor took over after ours moved to be near family. The new pastor spit out the same old john 3.16 bs. Told us to fast, told us no tv.(we found he had one and computers and internet too) bought new car. Talked about prostitutes and drugs, booze. Making many backslide or quit. Ive never been since!
The issue is that people leave because "Karen made me mad" or "some of them do bad things" and so on. But what do you expect? We are ALL sinners, and the church is the home of hypocrites. We are ALL hypocrites and fall short of perfection. But blaming man and using that as an excuse to not worship the one that literally died for our sins is just selfish. You can always try another church if you don't prefer the one you're at.
@@theologistics I highly doubt that, especially with the data showing gen-z leaving in droves while boomers trickle out. Either way, it's irrelevant. My comment was about all people.
I’m not talking about who leaves more, I’m talking about the reasons. Boomers tend to be more likely to flee because of something childish. At least that’s been my experience.
I dont go to church becaus half of them are money grabs with shitt sermons and the other half bring up politics. Id be happy to attend a social gethering where people came together to worship something bigger, not the almighty dollar. Im also not a man of faith. Faith is immovable. I jave trust issues and simply know that all powerful and all good arent the same and cant mix. "Those who are good die young" is very true. But not always. Sometimes we die young for no reason. We are average. All of us Im more inclined to be polytheistic because it simply tracks better with what I see. I dont know wverything, but when I see churches blowing money on big celebrations I question their priorities. All that money could have instead funded a soup kitchen, but people would rather help themselves while standing in what is supposed to be a house of the selfless. Cristmas at home is another story. Do what you want. But I hate the false rightious. Those who would use religions for financial gain.
Because people are finally opening up to the fact that there is no God, and even if there is a God, it certainly is not even remotely worthy of worship. If a God exist, it either does not give a shit about us, or it is pure evil and sadistic. Either way, not my problem. If God exist then either God isn’t personal so there is most likely no afterlife, or at most reincarnation; Or God is evil and in which case i’d rather go to hell than worship it. So, I don’t care.
