I think they wanted to use a diffrerent actor for each character when they tranfrom to look like they've grown up, but the girl is already look grown up even before tranform, they could use her to play her own shazam form as well but that would be weird, like why others character change but this one didn't so they have to find another actress look similar to do the job

I guessing that the Shazam power always reverts you to your prime. Because she reaching her prime age her Shazam form makes since to look more and more like her. So, you got it right.

You forgot to mention one example as well... John Constantine has taken up the Mantle and when he became Shazam he didn't look different at all, instead he looks like he's just changed his Clothing.

The director said her mortal/civilian form and superpowered form will follow the same logic as Wonder Woman when she isn't fighting crime and working as a civilian. Changes to makeup and hair etc

Billy wasn't evil in Injustice, jist painfully naive. All the conversations he had with Harley make this rather obvious. He just couldn't accept or see just how far Superman has fallen. And when he eventually does he gets murdered for it.

I think it makes sense. She's already approaching her "prime" in terms of age. She just doesn't have the musculature. So maybe when she's in the suit she'll be the same face, height, etc, but different weight/bulk. Going into super mode does not make you OLDER, it makes you PRIME. In 50 years when Billy Batson is 65 years old, he won't *shazam* into an 80 year old. He'll morph into a 25 year old and still look like a buff Zach Levi.

This is it. Their transformed selves are supposed to be their apex selves. That's why in Kingdom Come, adult Billy Batson and Captain Marvel look exactly the same.

Mary is technically an adult, and therefore shouldn’t have changed form when becoming her superhero counterpart. Fans were vocal enough about it, and surely world got to Sandberg and his team prompting him to make the change. That’s really it, I’m sure

In the comics, Billy's Shazam's form has a striking resemblance to his father. It is insinuated that their adult forms are strongly influenced by their sense of an ideal self. What they perceived to be their peak form. So I can use some lore gymnastics to make the casting make sense. As Mary encroaches on adulthood, she may have developed the confidence and self-assurance of an adult. Therefore, her Shazam form isn't any different from her civilian form.

In the first movie, Mary was already the oldest foster sibling so it makes sense that her superhero form would look more like her normal form when she fully reaches adulthood.

Realistically it was most likely a decision on the part of Warner Bros, but for an in continuity explanation, it’s actually very simple. As you said, the powers of Shazam do not turn you into the best version of yourself. They turn you into what you imagine to be the ideal version of a hero, meaning that hero may be yourself. It’s very complicated, but this would basically mean Mary has decided her current form is “hero worthy” and already the best version of herself.

Dude, I feel awful! I thought Mary and her transformation was all played by Grace Fulton this whole time lol Watching it in theaters, me and my friend even found it amusing that it seemed she was the only one that didn't change out of all of them and we figured cause she was already an adult heading to college. So while sad to drop actor Michelle Borth, it makes sense since Grace already has an appearance of an adult.

Maybe it's because she wasn't confident in herself when she was preparing to go to college. Most teenagers aren't. But with time, she started to see herself as a hero

1:57 idk about the newer stuff but originally Mary Marvel & Cpt Marvel Jr mostly just got power-ups with no aging since the were getting a bit of Cpt Marvel's power, not the full juicing from Shazam.

Good theory , my theory is that when you reach adulthood your transformation becomes you’re adult form but since you’re already an adult it becomes your present self.

I always thought the Shazam-ified versions of people is how they see themselves as adults amongst other things. For kids and teenagers this would lead to a change in appearance while people who have already become adults wouldn't change. At some point Mary probably just started viewing herself as an adult which affected how she looks when she's Mary Marvel.

I'm honestly hoping it's more in line with the Power of Shazam run because "idealized" form seems like the best for storytelling and could be interesting if each kids' form is maybe how they picture their parents if they were with them instead of the Vasquez's. Or something else. What I'm really hopeful for is DC to give their superhero forms official names!

Every time I watch the movie I swear Mary is played by the same actress in or out of the suit but I found out that she was played by two people so know that the actress that was playing young Mary in Shazam is not only doing that but playing Super Mary or Shazam Mary or whatever she calls her herself I’m not worried one bit besides Mary is the best movie sister ever

the only reason i could think of is that either because barry got a buff from the speedforce so he is now way faster orthat thawne's negative speedforce wasnt feeding on speedforce while thawne wasnt around so he became much slower

I think she's the same because the power transforms you into your full potential but as an adult because the power is too much for the kids to handle and when the kids get old enough they just transform into their full potential but their appearance dosent change.This is what I think so I cloud be wrong 🤷‍♀️

The former adult actor for Mary was supposedly let go for poltically unpopular tweets on social media. Because the younger actresswas now an adult and could work longer hours. It was an economical situation where the studio had to quickly fill the adult role.

Believe it or not but Grace Caroline Currey is one inch taller Michelle Borth. It made no sense in Michelle Borth playing Mary Bromfield's superhero counterpart as she smaller and middle aged. The shazam transformation is meant to make someone look more powerful not weaker. I thought it looked weird in the first film.

I haven’t watched the full video yet so you could’ve said it but Black Adam is a very good example when it comes to transforming to and back from his “prime”. You still age while you are in your super form and so when he transformed back, he would start to age at a very accelerated rate and then die all in the span of seconds. So it’d make sense that she looks the same especially if she is already an adult now and her prime might simply be in her more younger adult years.🤷🏻‍♂️ but that begs the question about her significant difference from the first movie unless it’s essentially going to be retconned as if that’s how she looked in the first film. But the suits definitely look cool though.

When the characters become their Shazam forms, they turn into their best forms. Maybe Mary has matured enough so that her best form isn't the actress from the first movie but herself because that's how she herself now? I mean, it's out there, but so are comics.

The word ‘Shazam’ is more like a spell. They can use it for other things. So they need the intention to transform to transform. That’s y they have no problem saying Shazam for their name.

It is also subjective to the person at the moment what they think is perfect. A kid who loves Superman, ends up in a knockoff Superman costume. It would also work when the person becomes older, like over 40, the transformation would send them back to about 25 to 30 years old in a physical peak condition.

It’s because u dont turn older when u say shazam. U just become an adult if you are a child. Which is why black adam gets older when he says shazam after he is already in black adam form. He is thousands of years old so he ages up instantly. But if he says shazam again he ages down to the age you should be. So if a 25 year old became shazam they would look the same.

Captain Marvel is said to be an adult version of Billy, so it makes sense that when Billy reaches a certain age, he too would take over the role from Zachary Levi, although I doubt that happens.

Ive got a question about the flash: i was rewatching season 1 and the episode with that villain who could drain electricity when he was questioning Harrison Wells who he hurt in the particle excelorator Harrison named Ralph Dibney but Ralph didnt get his powers until season 4 so why would he say that name plus when Barry was there wouldn’t he be questioning Wells later about Ralph

I have a theory. One word Flashpoint. Since the DCEU is suppose to change after the Flash movie. I wouldn’t be surprised if the story explanation for this is Flashpoint and if one of the things that the Flash movie changes is Grace now being Mary Marvel instead of Michelle Borth. Of course they are probably never gonna mention or act like she always looked that due to the events of the Flash film. Just a theory. Obviously I do not know the real reason for why the actress was replaced/fired. But this seems to be make more than enough sense that flashpoint changed some major things including this one.

I’m hoping they actually let Billy and the other kids age... in the comics Billy is kinda a permanent kid. If they ever get the point where kid actors actually age outta being kids, it’d be interesting to see the characters age too. Cause we never see mainstream versions of adult Shazam.
