Forked beard, here! The hair in the cleft of my chin is finer, lighter, and grows slower than the rest of my beard, and this is what causes my fork. My beard begins forking at less than even an inch because of it. It also doesn't help that I play with the hair there. It feels different from the rest, so it's what I fiddle with when thinking (deep or shallow thoughts). I'm growing my beard out and the sort of "under chin" (don't know what else to call it) was much longer than the rest. It was catching on the zipper to my sweatshirt and generally making me look disheveled, so I trimmed it down to remove the bulk and try to let the length of the chin hair catch up. Don't make the same mistake, or let a barber do it. It make the fork more noticeable because I accidentally removed too much bulk. It's driving me nuts. Learn from my mistake!
I went a long time with having one and it always made me wonder if I should try to grow a longer beard or keep it short because I didn't like the look. It turned out, growing it out further took care of it.
I'm not sure about hair growth variances being the issue. However, I do know that growth variances do exist and some are a little amazing. I'm about 7 months from having a 2 year beard (I'm 45 btw). For a majority of this particular growth, there has been a bald spot (0.25-0.5 inches) between my beard and where my soul patch (the area directly underneath my bottom lip). A few months ago, that spot started filling in and it's only about 0.5 inches long. That's not to say that every bald spot will eventually grow in. Some spots are either genetically or medically not able to grow hair. Still, the saying "Only time will tell" is a valid saying when growing a beard. Some hair are just plain lazy and prefer to do their own thing. If you have a bald spot, then you have a couple of options. You can grow it for a period of time, see what happens, complete shave if you're not happy, and try again later. Or, you can just let your beard grow. If the spot is small enough, then the hairs around it could potentially just cover it up. Who knows, maybe the hairs in that spot will decide to start growing in a month, a few months, or (like mine) in 18 months or so.
My beard is a foot and a half long. Unless I stay perfectly still, it will always do its own thing no matter what I do lol Riding my Harley doesn't help any. But I use beard oil and beard balm combo daily. Great video by the way. 🍻 🍻
Last time I had a shave in 31-12-2020,it is almost 21 days my beard has grown ,but near the Adams apple there is slow growth resulting into a split ,I would be happy if you can help with all the relevant bears tips so that my 90 days challenge is complete
Just let it grow you cant really accelerate the growth and then the hear gets longer you wont see it anymore. When the growth is alot slower just trim the hears to the same size as the shortest hear you will be fine
