@Adam Hopwood, much depends on the History of the Regiment that has Mascots. Since the 1920’s The Irish Regiment has had these magnificent Irish Wolfhounds. Other Regiments such as those of the Scot, the Welsh and the Parachute have minature ponies. The Mercian and other regiments have a variety like goats and rams. Although a little off topic, I should introduce you to Brigadier Sir Nils Olaf 111, a King Penguin of Norway. But resident in the Edinburgh Zoo.
