@@BernieTheDevastator I remember Miles Luna's Cameo video explaining he wrote the Blake and Sun storyline as a way to show teenagers going through self discovery during that age and that our feelings change throughout the course of our lives. So it was supposed to be a whirlwind crush at least moreso with Sun. But V4 and V5 (even arguably the earlier volumes) showed that Blake was not in the right head space mentally and emotionally for a relationship with anyone though she bonded with Sun on a friendship level due to their similar culture and plight against the White Fang. He was the character that was used for Blake to reveal her White Fang backstory so he was a catalyst for that data as well as a motivation to get her back to her team. Also first couple trope remember. Yang met Blake first and her name, Yang which is 阳 in Chinese Mandarin means "Sun." Wukong was supposed to be a red herring. Sun's name 孙 which is technically pronounced Suen actually means "Grandson" in Chinese. Sun Wukong's allusion was the Monkey King and while that character's hair has magical properties, it is Yang who posesses the strength from her hair. Lindsey had mentioned at a panel that Yang was the equivalent to Samson. Now with Sun's last name 悟空, Wukong means "Awakened by emptiness." This kind of reveals his fate sadly. Monty was a man of depth, and well-thought out background stories even from their names alone. I guess it helped he was also part Chinese himself. However the allusions were fleshed out by Miles and Kerry. Look up on RU-vid "RWBY CRWBY Chat | Rooster Teeth" video from 2014 and start at (9:02). Monty himself explains, "I mean the 3 of us have thought about it for a long time." And Kerry adds to that: "We've got a very large story planned out." Also Blake and Yang are allusions to each other as Beauty and the Beast while Adam was an inverse in personality of Prince Adam while acquiring his Bull horns and possessing the spiteful and jealous behavior of Gaston. Blake was both the Beauty and the Beast becomes of her Faunus status. Also keep in mind Yang's "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" allusion that she was based off of. Adam was TOO HARD, Sun was TOO SOFT and Yang was JUST RIGHT. Another clue was the "Red Like Roses pt 1" song which also alludes to Beauty and the Beast: The lyrics - "Black the beast descends from shadows Yellow beauty burns Gold."

@Captain Simp they literally didn't really interact expect for like a handful of scenes. Most of the ships in rwby feels like people like the aesthetic than any inkling of romantic interest of other characters. Not like there was any romance in rwby other than jaune and pyrrha. In the end of the day at least the queer baiting now stop and now I'm waiting how poorly they will handle this relationship

Very similar to some other queer relationships where they start off as friends first and for awhile, then bond even more through shared trauma. I apologize for the length 😅 The first couple trope. Yang met Blake first before Sun, it's just that some fans weren't counting to see a sapphic relationship between any of the main cast so that threw them for a loop. Understandable [Volume and certain chapter moments] Volume 1 Ch6: Emerald Forrest - Yang and Blake become Partners (we also see Blake's shadow running past in the foreground as she was following Yang) Volume 2 Ch6: Burning the Candle - Yang Share's backstory with Blake and convinces her to chill out and go to the dance (then proceeds to have one dance with her). Director's commentary in BD has Monty explaining that Blake would be the person for Yang to share any info of her trauma. Volume 3 Ch6: Yang and Mercury fight, Yang is disqualified due to Emerald's illusion and Yang asks Blake if she believes her. Blake shares a bit of her backstory with Adam, Yang cries because of Blake's doubt and finally manages to convince her of what really happened (or what she saw). So Blake's opinion really mattered to her. Volume 5 Ch8: This isn't exactly a Ch6 but in this ep, while sitting down with Ruby and Weiss, Yang shows her anger towards Blake not being around. Then she's shown in her room forlornly looking at an old Beacon photo of her team, while she strokes Blake's side of the photo. She and Weiss vent out their issues of lonliness and Yang's abandonment issues and Yang finally relents, "What if I needed her there for me?!" Volume 6 - This is a compilation of micro-expressions between Blake and Yang and more background stuff like Blake constantly looking over to Yang (animators admitted on twitter to purposely throwing those bread crumbs) until we see Yang grabbing Blake's hand and running (Ch6). But before the Apathy scenes, we are treated to Yang and Blake in the barn as another attempt to heal the broken bonds between them while Blake accidentally puts another wedge between them until they overcome the Adam situation and she promises not to leave whereas Yang, who finally understands why she left, accepts Blake's promise by reassuring that she knows she won't leave. Volume 7 Ch6: "A Night Off" chapter continuing on the Chapter 6 trend. RWBY and JNY are given the night off, Blake and Yang head out together dancing with Team FNKY and Nora and Ren argue about what's going on with Yang and Blake with Nora saying that there's something going on between them and pointing out two people having gone through so much together getting closer while Ren thinks they're just friends. Volume 8 Ch4 (breaks the ch6 trend temporarily): Yang asks Jaune "Do you think she thinks less of me, for not helping out with Amity?", Jaune assumes she's referring to Ruby and says that Ruby is her sister and no matter the disagreements, will always love her. Yang responds with , "Yeah...Ruby" Volume 9 Ch6 (Back to 6) Blake and Yang admit their feelings to each other and become official.
