Hi Noel, Great video! It was really a pleasure to have you come visit our rural operation, too bad we didn't have any opportunity to talk more. It is always fun to meet people who are interested in aviation and make videos like these for others to watch. I will definitely check out the rest of your content, and like the video!

Give a random foreigner a lift into town from a tiny airport (when you've already established that he doesn't smell badly or talk too much)? I'd probably have offered to drive him back to the airport the next day, if I wasn't doing anything. People have done the same for me, and mostly they weren't serial killers!

not so unusual in the nordics, especially the more close to wilderness you are - helping each other there and relying on oneself is natural up there where no institutions are around to babysit you. (there is no taxi here... lol, of course there is - but he was busy 100km up west at the time haha) at least it used to be normal... Situation slowly changes because kindness is abused more and more by foreigners who see it as a weakness or take it for granted. Its supposed to be repaid in kind if an opportunity presents itself.

Swedish Culture is a bit odd sometimes. Generally swedes will not help complete strangers. But because he accompanied here here at Arlanda, she was to Swedish custom pretty much bound to give him a lift in to town, even more so when its a really small town with very spars taxi service. People that visit Sweden... Also Finland and the Baltic (well i have not been to Lithuania) stage will notice that most people are very standof to strangers. But to everyone that have proven to be friendly this often change dramatically. This is a situation where Norway and Denmark is quite different to Sweden.

Grafair, the name on the VW bus. They service private planes a operate some private planes including. jets and ambulance planes and have their own business terminal at Stockholm BROMMA and at Stockholm Arlanda. I visited their office to pic up cardboard for recycling with my truck and the only person there was a man sitting at the reception desk. I stated my business and he said I come with you and open the locked doors, there where several plastic containers and we took them out together and I asked what his position was at the company, he said, I am the owner, the others are at lunch. 😊 Respect!

The biker meet is actually an “EPA Traktor/ A-traktor” meet which are cars that have been converted into “tractors” so the max speed is 30 km/h or about 20 mph, they are recognized by their big orange triangle at the back of the car. EPA tractors are very popular among teens (especially in northern Sweden) because you do not need a drivers license for it and you only need to be 15 years old to drive them.

That was one of the reasons it took me around 58 hours from Manila to Stockholm via Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo Narita, Hong Kong, Addis Abeba and Oslo and my 56 hours from London to Stockholm via Warsaw, Kyiv and Istanbul. 🤣 Hope you enjoyed Sveg and Stockholm and stay safe and all the best!

Fun fact: Sveg is the only major town in Härjedalen, a municipality and landscape (equivalent to the old ceremonial counties of England). It's so scarcely populated that official UN maps denote it as 'uninhabited', having less than 1 person per square kilometre. The only reason there are two flights a day are government subsidies, as all regions of Sweden should have regular public transport, and there isn't really any other airport or rail service nearby.

Great vlog as always. It is like Anton says, like we call it in Scandinavia; districtpolitics. If you put up a service, people will use it. Not long a go there was a dutch airline that flew the route with a J31. We have this all over Norway as well. The milkrun you did with WF last summer is the same thing but on a lager scale. Leap air flies from OSL-RRS v.v. and OSL-OLA v.v. They started with a Saab 340, but due to high demand had to upgrade to a Saab 2000! BU flew the RRS route 20 yrs a go with a 737. They started the service in 1957 with a DH Heron, then the F-27, then the F-28. The most jets ever parked at RRS was 5. There was some kind of sports event.

Sven airport was a lot bigger than I expected for the traffic it gets. Smallest one I’ve flown into was Anglesey airport on a Jetstream 41 from Cardiff. The only flight entirely in Wales. That also has two flights a day but the arrivals and departures hall which is the same room is tiny. It’s like a large shed plonked onto an RAF base.

Please close the door: Noel leaves door open as he leaves. No taxi service in Sveg: Noel boards taxi to the airport anyway. 😂

It sounded like there were no businesses of any kind. Do they even have a restaurant or just a food store?

@@CallieMasters5000 They must have some travel movement. I looked up that town on Wikipedia & they also have passenger train service & show a train at railway station.

@@CallieMasters5000 well.. granted the village is tiny there is quite a lot of businesses there. Not only is it really isolated. The flight takes like 2 hours. It's also the "city center" of the surrounding area that have a much higher population. Its also an important railway hub for the inner railway that is used mostly for cargo

Maybe the reason the 2 flights, could be the people of Sveg work in the main city, & then the plane takes people home in the evening, like the lady who gave you a ride to your hotel. Plane goes in the hanger, then starts again next morning.

Actually Sveg isn't a town, the province Härjedalen is known in Sweden as the only province out of 25 in whole Sweden that doesn't harboring a single town. Sveg and Härjedalen was Danish/Notwegian untill 1645 and after that Swedish, but it had only 10 000 inhabitants and Røros in Norway is still the closest town, så you could guess in a part of the video Sveg has been the center in the provinciql area because of the logging industry the last 100-150 years.

@Anders Persson I was under the impression that Sweden called all municipalities over 200 people by the same name and didn’t use the concept of towns vs. cities at all.

I thought I had passed Sveg quite a number of times going northwest to visit relatives (I live 136 km/85 m east of Sveg), but apparently I didn't. It's been a while! Pretty cool to see video from this elusive place, still! :D A bit further north in Östersund is an airport with international service, mostly chartered flights. Sveg used to have international service to Tallinn, Estonia some years ago, but the airline went bust

Nice! It reminds me of Krylbo outside Avesta. Such a great little town in Dalarna! Avesta has the world's larget Dalahäst or Dalahorse btw. Big animals are a Swedish thing I guess...
