Sorry, don’t buy it for a minute. Sure, the Solaris tease is plausible. But this reads as perfectly understandable fan overthinking. Trying to wring way more meaning out of a single image than is actually there. With all due respect, of course.

I think the image wants to show the fact that being a superhero is a 24/7 job and that you can't have free time to be Clark Kent, I think that's what the movie is going to be about. As James Gunn originally explained, Superman will try to balance his humanity with his Kryptonian heritage. He has his life as Clark with Lois Lane, Jimmy and Perry, and also his life as Superman with Mr Terrific, Hawkgirl, Green Lantern and Metamorpho. The main conflict of the film is going to be about Superman's double life and how that can affect his life. Think about it in the image, the fact that the suit is wrinkled and burned but that he is putting it on could mean that Clark did not have enough time to fix or clean it, and also that it is night does not give him the possibility of rest and that you always have to be alert to any menace.

Something that seems silly to me about those who criticize the Superman movie is that many people, because they didn't like the suit, already say "The movie is going to be horrible" as if suddenly everyone forgot that James Gunn has a recent history of good movies, or that even Cavill or Affleck themselves were hated at the time of their respective first photo in their suits, like anybody remembers people called Ben Affleck "Fatfleck"

I love the look of the suit, very new 52 inspired, plus I love how he’s putting the suit back on because the world needs him, while wearing a weary and tired face.

I’m not blown away by the new suit I must say from that one photo so far.

My personal opinion is I really love the look of the suit It looks very Earth Made I can 100% see this suit being the suit that was made on Earth it looks like a working man’s suit and was inspired by something a firefighter or any first responder would wear And I can totally see Ma Kent using that as inspiration for the suit

That would actually be cool if there was a moment where Superman went up against Solaris despite loosing his powers to show his true motive of wanting to help people.

David really bulked for the role thanks to the post by his trainer, but post production improves the quality of the suit look more better as it should 👌👌

Also, the suit looks darkened in some areas due to previous battles. Battle weary suit.

He had him workout because there’s going to be at least one shirtless scene in the movie. That’s the suit, and it’s very New 52. Not very many ppl liked that version, that’s why they killed him and brought back the OG Supes that fought Darkseid for Rebirth.

The image reminds me of my dad coming home from work only to go mow the lawn. He’s fairly realistic this time in the sense he acts like a human being. He gets tired but suits up when work needs to get down.

As plausible as this theory might be, fans should not have to go through mental gymnastics to justify why Superman was looking down and sullen.

I think movies need to evolve and the same way they removed the red thing they should probably also change the superman suit. It doesn't work for younger generations.

The suit looks like a deflated Spalding basketball. 🤣😂🤣 it has the same texture and design as a Spalding basketball. Also, it looks like the red undies are back, which I don’t know why because underwear doesn’t translate well on the big screen. Let us break this photo down: I believe the pink sphere in the picture is Solaris. Gunn is inspired by All Star Superman: I believe Solaris was one of the villains in All Star Superman. Solaris has injured Superman and have blocked the yellow sun while fighting Superman; this is wear the damage on suit came from. I see a green light striking Solaris in the picture as well. Superman may be injured and weaken from the first fight. Green Lantern and others are distracting Solaris while Superman recovers. Solaris is overcoming the other heroes and weakened, Clark Kent witnesses they need his help. They need Superman. ⭐️ In this picture, a weakened Superman is putting on his boots for round 2, he beaten and injured but he is preparing suit back up to fight Solaris, who is blocking the sun, all odds are against Clark but he is the beacon of hope; he is Superman. Now in this photo Superman is preparing to give his all to save the other heroes and the world.

It’s a nice theory. The photo does look like Superman is contemplating going to battle even while being weakened… but I wouldn’t bet this interpretation of the plot is correct.

Not sure about Solaris or anything, but I don't think that the suit doesn't fit him per say as you can see how his biceps fill out the sleeves. I think it's just made that he has the room to move without the suit constricting on his body. Like actual clothing that rumples as we sit down and hunch over to put our shoes on before going to work like we see Superman doing here. It'll likely look tighter and more fitting when he's in a standing position. It's the kind of mindset you want to have with clothes when working on a farm. Not skintight but not too flowing and loose Something that can move well with your body and is durable. The kind of clothes Martha Kent would make for Jonathan and Clark. And that's what I feel is throwing a lot of people off on this suit. It doesn't seem like a super suit and looks more like actual clothing. Like something....a mother would make.

As this is a random set photo. He could be suiting up between filming and hasn't done his back zip?! Which why it's potentially looking loose. Random theory, hopeful more than anything but could be true. More chance of that than a theory that he's been weakened by a villain.

gonna be honest, the suit seems to fit fine. It looks like it fits his body fine as it creases slightly when he's hunched a little as he is in the official image, meaning when he stands up straight it should be nice and smooth, which tells me that its actually made for his body rather than just having a muscle suit underneath like a certain collection of suits which i wont name but if you know, you know. Oh and the only way to get muscle definition in a suit like this is to put in some padding for the suit specifically which makes it look more like a costume then a suit, im sorry but it does. Look at thor, you can tell how jacked hemsworth is (and im meaning when he has the sleevs on) and there is no need for "clear muscle definition" and the same thing would happen here when david stands up sraight

The suit could have looked better period. Maybe if they do it right the suit can change or alter idk but i dont like the boots and i dont like the thick material the symbol on the chest is great , but the rest is questionable. The line design in the suite is fine but it does need to be more form fitting.

If there are many unnecessary line at the costume we see, it needs to consider it in science, Because the massive friction will occure due to flying with supersonic speed power will cause the costume to tear slowly and massively in a couple of minutes. Started from the shoulder, the red panties will come off, the belt sags towards the boot and makes the boot come off. The red cape fall on neighbour laundry string. End up naked when landed and steal someone else clothing somewhere. Haha thats fun and embarres at sametime.

Give me a break bro, for a first reveal of the suit regardless of the reason which is possibly apart of the story, possibly, not confirmed yet, it puts a bad taste in people's mouths. Bad idea to show a new Superman this way, especially after Henry cavil. It's already a flop before it hits theaters or apps or whatever, crappy first impression😞 These people just can't get Superman right, video games, films , except for Christopher Reeves, the most powerful superhero in comic's, pitiful. Henry cavil was a great Superman but of course the uppers ruined it.

With all due respect, that theory is straight up dumb. We need to stop reading too much into things 😭. It's just designed that way to look like a military uniform and fits like a jacket instead of a typical superhero suit. Yes I know it looks meh, but it's just the creative route Gunn took. There isn't any deeper meaning or grand plan behind the folds of his suit. It's just made by the same guys who make suits for MCU 🤷‍♀️ And almost every MCU suit basically looks like a military uniform with unnecessary lines everywhere.

I love your videos...I love your channel...but I have to say, this is a stretch. I've seen so mamy countless videos and posts of people trying to theorise why the suit is like that. It seems people are just in denial and trying to cope and make up a reason on why it's so bad. If you think about it, when in the history of cinema have they made a costume look bad to "trick" the audience. Examples like Tom Hollands Spiderman suit don't count since the practical suit was a placeholder for when they covered it in CGI. This however is an official suit reveal, not a placeholder for CGI or anything. They're already half way through filming so there's going to be no changes to the suit. At most if we're lucky, they may remove the wrinkles with VFX...but may....if we're lucky. There's no denial it is a bad suit, hence all the controversy and trending posts.

No fake muscles in the costume got folks going crazy. Reeves and Roth didn't have fake muscles either....and that is OK. Its a good superman suit.

This is hugh mental gymnastics. James Gunn wouldn't been that meticolous in "easterEggs" and/or breadcrumbs and at the same time greenlit such a terrible quality finished image that looks like if it has been done by a passant designer.
