My lore video on OG Loc explaining why he doesn't expose CJ at the end and also why CJ doesn't kill him. I also break down his character. Support me on Patreon: / theprofessional1994 Follow me on Twitter: / patrick21611
Fun Fact: After “Cut Throat Business” in the Victim clothing store, all of Loc’s merch tanks to like $50 or $20, and all of Madd’s Dogg’s skyrockets to like $500
Fun fact: Grove Street Games mentioned this along with a link to a reedit thread talking about this in the leaked mission script sources and saying it's interesting (including scripts that control it)
Another reason why CJ doesn't kill Jeffrey: There's no evidence he plotted against Grove Street. While he was on good terms with Smoke, he wasn't involved in the betrayal alongside Smoke and Ryder, he was essentially a useful idiot for Smoke and probably swallowed whatever Smoke told him.
in the special edition introduction both big smoke and sean / sweet told og loc to go do something useful with his life like go to college, they messed their lives up gang banging.
@@Hei-BK201 on a technical level, sciences and all, Zero is a genius, on a social level, woozie is a genius they're both pretty smart in their own ways

@@nobodyjustacreephe would be hella confused, the same guy who saved his career and took him off drugs and autodestruction is the one that also created all those issues in the first place
I always thought Jeffery didn’t snitch cause in his eyes he’s a OG gangsta, his persona wouldn’t allow him to say another person did my gang banging activities for me. He wanted to play the role of the tough street guy that worked like a boss, to fit the rap narrative. For Madd Dogg, who knows his reaction, all CJ really did was take a rhyme book and kill his manager. All Madd Dogg had to do was hire a new manager, and as for the rhyme book he didn’t need it, like CJ said Dogg has the heart and experience/realness to a make music.
GTA V might be bigger and more popular, but San Andreas is still RockStar's most ambitious game. Even after all these years the lore of this game goes even deeper
@@chrisspeed270 Yes it did sell well. The reason for that is the success of all previous GTAs, specifially GTA3, VC and SA. These 3 games truly put R* on the map
Jeffrey just should've gone to college, as Sweet and Smoke suggested. And about him getting mentioned in The Contract DLC: there's another San Andreas reference in the Franklin and Lamar co-op missions, where you two go to some growhouse in Grapeseed and torch the weed. Franklin asks something like "Isn't it similar to what went down in Flint County back in the day?" - it's a reference to the mission"Are you going to San Fierro?" where CJ helped torching The Truth's weed plantation. The countryside of the second island is called Flint County.
Not sure if anyone peeped it but the Jimmy Silverman character is loosely based on real life record executive Jimmy Iovine, best known as the co-founder of Interscope Records. He helped popularize the gangsta rap genre in the early 90’s so the fact that he exists in San Andreas during 1992 is no coincidence.
@@zev847 They based Loc on Ja Rule due to his beef with 50 Cent after giving G Unit member The Game a role in the game as B Dup. If it wasn’t obvious enough Loc even looks just like him. And Ja Rule was accused of stealing rhymes from DMX
Og Loc is like that kid who says he has a hard life yet he drives a Porsche and gets paid $10k a week by his wealthy lawyer parents and living in a $2.5m mansion up in Hollywood.
He just a gangster rapper with no actual street resume. And his friends that known him his whole life can’t take him serious because they know the truth.
Why Jeff- (I mean LOC) didn't snitch on CJ is a question I've been asking myself for years. I just assumed that Madd Dogg wouldn't believe that CJ was responsible for ruining his career. As always, your lore videos clear things up. Have a good day and I'll keep an eye out for the next part of your MWII playthrough!
I never understood the arguments that CJ should’ve killed him. CJ is directly responsible for Loc’s rise, Loc got an ego, and his activities are completely irrelevant to the actual fall of GSF.
Some people aren’t worth killing like cowards. That attitude alone will give them lifetime of hardships and troubles unless they straighten themselves out.
OG Lock is a harmless clown, is cj's childhood friend and all he did wrong was actually done by Cj. That people think he should've been killed shows they didn't understand the game at all. CJ even feels bad for killing Smoke, who literally killed his mother
Yeah true. Obviously Jeffrey was a bitch, but first of all, CJ actively helped him tear down Madd Dogg so he can't really use that as a reason to justify killing him, and Jeffrey was also never directly involved in Smokes business with the Ballas and the drugs and everything, he was most likely just being used as a useful idiot to hide the illegal money from the drug business. So yeah, I agree, it makes sense why CJ didn't kill him.
OG Loc: You bein' funny!? Lazlow: I'm trying to be. I love Lazlow. 🤣 His entire dialouge and attitude throughout the conversation is nothing short of comedy gold.
@@Bobby-rq5pe OG loc represents a the rappers who don’t live their lyrics, basically how rappers always rap about killing people but when you see them irl they are complete jokes
@@mxrrytuexx I remember there was a rapper who rapped about guns and some1 let him hold a rifle and he fired it on accident because he never held one lol I think it was that clown yfn lucci search yfn lucci misfire
Just a minor thing, at 10:43 in the caption you suggests that CJ goes with lock to confront Freddy to not be called a Busta. I think there CJ was genuinely concerned about Jeffery, and helped him coz he was pretty sure he will get himself killed if he goes alone, which is honestly highly likely.
Yeah I think so too. The main reason why CJ was doing anything for Jeffrey is probably because he was afraid that otherwise Jeffrey might try to do it himself and get himself killed.
Lazlow calling him oglock is an example of the attention to detail I love so much about this game. I completed the game around 5 times, never heard this interview over the radio, but i heard it now and I'm rolling on the floor 😂😂
Again I just wanna appreciate the effort put into a project of this magnitude. And let’s not forget all the copyright bs he goes through every time pro makes one of these. Big thumbs up 👍
Professional! Listen, we all understand that you're busy with either other projects or important IRL stuff, and we all I have the patience, for me, I have lots of patience if you work on lore videos or Top 5 or Top 10 videos or if any new gameplay videos being delayed. I just want to say that I appreciate your hard work on your videos. I always feel bad when you apologize if the video took too long to make or got delayed, so I just wanna say that you can take much time as you need and don't feel bad about it if you need more time and so on, just appreciate the work and you should pat yourself on the back! so thank you very much once again for another GTA lore video and I hope you're doing well as well not being hard on yourself while making these videos :D
What is strange to me is that Dogg doesn't question CJ when he calls Loc by his real name, Jeffrey. It'd be suspicious to me how does my new guardian angel know the real name of a thief, and say that he stabbed the family in the back.
As a kid you just play through these missions. When you’re older you actually be like bruh how did I miss this comedy💀 definitely didn’t appreciate WCTR until I got older.❤ 💜
Exactly! When i was young, i didn't care about the characters' backstory and how awesome/hilarious they are, but now i do. Also i didn't care about the radio stations until i got older, now i can't play through San Andreas without the radio stations.
17:27 WCTR also have a news program and it will update while completing some Missions. If we completed Management Issues. WCTR will inform about the death of Madd Dogg's Manager. Also some characters will be also be heard in WCTR. The Truth will be heard in the program Area 53 where he tells the host that Aliens exist and the host keeps ignoring him since the host talks about something stupid. Which is why The Truth wanted CJ to steal some stuffs from the military to have the evidence to the host of the program he always hear.
Hearing OG Loc ranting and trying to act tough while Lazlo is trying to calm the situation and play of Jokes with the shit spewing from OG Loc's mouth is truly hilarious
I laughed so hard at that radio interview from 17:27 to 22:13. OG Loc that fake he couldn’t even do a radio interview without sounding like a fake gangsta.
I would too. Lol even Woozie who runs the most dangerous mafia that acts like secret society in the world is careful and paranoid about them. IRS is basically mafia too, double taxation and global taxation is not a joke. Damn government and elites are screwing citizens over. Time to find other places
@@bassdynasty8840 i'm talking about the fact that he doesn't give a fuck that he'd literally talk about murdering someone in front of a police station.
That was actually stupid cause what if a cop nearby heard him and that's why Big Smoke tried to change the topic and said "hey Jeffrey I thought you was going to College".
I like to think that after getting run out of town, Jeffrey decided the college thing wasn't such a bad idea after all and ended up being an accountant or some other office worker lol.
Professional, your lore videos are legit incredible. Even for veterans of the series, there's always some nuance or super subtle thing in these games that even I missed, and it makes me appreciate those games even more. Awesome work man
Great video Pro. I think Loc didn’t snitch on CJ because CJ helped him with his career and if he did it he’d be the biggest buster in Los Santos. I think if Madd Dogg knew that Carl and Loc were friends he’d possibly either be so blinded by rage that he would lose his mind over it or he would connect the dots later. Besides if Madd Dogg knew Loc orchestrated his manager’s death, he’d go crazy. He had no idea who killed his manager in the first place. I guess Loc wasn’t as stupid as he was presented to be after all. He masterminded schemes, made connections that gave him a career, and in the end was wise enough not to totally sell out the person who’d be the most dangerous to him and his manager. Maybe Dogg wouldn’t believe Jeffery, but his reaction would probably be understandably outrageous. I think Carl didn’t kill Loc because while he betrayed him and Sweet, he didn’t join the Ballas and wasn’t involved with Tenpenny’s plot that resulted in the Johnson’s’ mother’s death. Plus Carl has mellowed by this point and Loc presented no immediate threat to him. Also, I wonder what is your opinion about Ryder’s betrayal.
@@b.a.m.mdoublem1196 I think everyone is entitled to their own opinions, personally I judge the story based on its plot - Ryder was always a coked out, reckless and hypocritical character. It’s just like Micah fought the Pinkertons in Lakay and during Cornwall’s assassination, it was just for survival and to deviate suspicion. Smoke also killed members of the Ballas and the Vagos despite being allied with them. It was just because he was told to and for survival, like Stretch killed D.
@@justsomeguy747 I agree and I do believe that Stretch was inspired by Big Smoke the only difference is that one betrayed his gang for money and power while the other one did it for survival.
Even then he’d easily incriminate himself by doing so. And he’s dealing with fucking CJ, somebody who is an actual gangster who has killed people, even rival gangsters. OG Loc wouldn’t last 30 seconds in a gunfight. He is very lucky he survived his final confrontation with CJ and Madd Dogg.
@@losoReloadedmvp Since when? Characters are so cringy. Max. Alex. Steph. They are no one compared to GTA. The story was also stupid. Life is Strange is a cringe series of game for 15 years old girls.
OG Loc probably didn't snitch on CJ because Madd Dogg probably wouldn't have believed him anyway and CJ probably didn't cap Loc because Loc was never really a threat to begin with and he wasn't directly associated with Smoke's business, he was just a side project Smoke had going, the guy was expendable anyway so CJ probably didn't think it was necessary to kill him.
I was thinking the other day that it would be awesome if professional did a video on the OG Loc since that situation often confuses a lot of people including myself tbh, great video man!
I think you're giving OG Loc too much credit here. I doubt he's smart enough to realize he's screwed and just take the loss. I think the reason has far more to do with his superficiality. He's desperate to be seen as a gangster but not desperate enough to do the dirty work. Him not snitching might be his last ditch effort to not be seen as a buster and maybe take credit for taking Mad Dog's manager out and stealing his rhyme book.
Wow this is the most detailed guide on what is organised crime and how to be successful in such enterprises... I am absolutely thrilled at the insane amount of details you put into this man ... Keep it up Want more lore videos like this!!! You are the best in explaining GTA lore and plots... Proud of you
He could “expose” CJ when he was confronted at the video shootout, the long hilarious chase with OG Loc talking nonsense in the front already showed what a coward he is and that he had no intention of serious conversations at the record deal company, I mean, would a real gangsta run away, literally like a child, just to be tough later?? thank you for the well presented lore video Professional, the Sopranos cutscenes were a nice and funny touch 👍
I supposed that both CJ and OG Loc ain’t snitches and maybe OG Loc doesn’t want to be killed by CJ and Grove street Families gang for having the treacherous Big Smoke as his music manager. Who uses the manager career label to avoid being tax reviewed fronting his drug trafficking income under the music industry revenue. Also maybe OG Loc is too much of a weak link to be killed easily
Really good stuff dude! These really help to fill in the gaps that are implied, but not fully explained in the lore. These videos are super interesting, I can tell you put a lotta time into them, can’t wait for the next one!
@@Major_han good job! Wow you’re really bright aren’t you? You know what? I’m gonna go to RU-vid headquarters and tell them that they should pay YOU for every comment you write!
Watching this made me realize two things. First is that its crazy that if you paid attention then you would know from the start that Ryder was on bullshit with CJ & bound to double cross him. Second is that mike lazlo is LEGENDARY
hey, just wanted to say, I love your character breakdowns and analysis of the stuff gta games have particularly, and this is excellently crafted as the rest are. the channel name definitely checks out, you do your videos very professionally, this is a real good one too
Nice video. I want to see a lore video of Luis Lopez and how he became more successful than Johnny and Niko. I felt Luis dosent get talked a lot tbh. Luis seems to know the true colors of people much earlier than those two.
Amazing job on this lore video Pro, and remember that we are always here for you and understand when things are complicated so take your time and rest, don’t rush anything because your content is well worth the wait. 💪
You’re keeping the gta community alive and showing appreciation to the 3d era of gta which is the most under appreciated in the series. They’re Over looked because of the success of gta 5 rockstar is most likely delusional because of this. They’ve sold it on three different consoles 😭
Also, look at his name: OG Loc. It's not the name of a gangsta, it's the name of someone who is trying too hard to be a gangsta. Most gangsta names are given to you by someone else: CJ is just Carl's initials, Sweet is what one might call a gang boss like him, Big Smoke perfectly summarizes his appearance and his drug of choice (even before his betrayal, it was known that he was into weed), Ryder has been violent ever since his childhood et cetera. Even real life gansta rap names are like this (Suge Knight comes from his original nickname of Sugar Bear because of his size, Snoop Dogg comes from the fact that his friends thought he looked like Snoopy, Eazy-E's real name starts with an E and he was known as an easygoing guy) Meanwhile, OG Loc chose that name for himself, and he chose two words for gangsta. This name highlights the fact that he is the worst case of, as Eazy-E would call them, a "studio gangsta".
Hey does anyone know that in GTA online, when the contract DLC came out. The assistant you can get helicopters and your personal vehicles from will actually mention that Franklin met OG Loc and freaked out over meeting him along with saying “there was a guy here earlier named Jeffery. He still gets mad when you call him that” and to top it off in Franklins office above chops bed you can see a record from OG Loc when he was a rapper
Regarding the point about CJ being responsible for Mad Dog losing his house due to causing MD's drug addiction, it does seem as thought MD was already taking something being as he thanked his dealer at the award show just before you abduct his manager. It does seem as though HD Universe Loc was more successful than his 3D counterpart too being as his clothing line is seen in GTA 4 (the comment the guy in The Contract DLC makes about him performing in the '90s suggests that Loc stayed relevant for much longer while presumably not ending up losing everything due to stealing someone else's work).
Sweet telling Loc that he and Smoke wasted their lives and that Loc should go to college... then refuses all of CJ's hard work and success for the sake of restarting gang wars. Sweet is truly infuriating in his stupidity.
This was before the assassination of his Mom. Most probably after the death of his mother he was in depraved state and then on the day of the funeral, him and his brother CJ were almost killed by the Ballas. At that moment, Sweet just had enough and decided to take the fight to the Ballas and Smoke's betrayal further solidified his resolve.
I've always felt like CJ seeing Madd Dogg about to jump off made him realize that while he did something to help a friend, he also hurt an innocent who was just about to end his life in front of him. CJ was a gangster, but he didn't cause undue damage most of the time. This is one time where he does see what became of something so "harmless" as taking a book from a home, snowballing into a singer about to end it. It's my headcanon that CJ really had trouble turning a blind eye to what he indirectly caused.
CJ killed the workers and their boss he killed one of the most brutal ways just because they were not nice to his dumb sister. Yes Kendl is dumb. Not that dumb like Sweet but she is definitely stupid. So yes CJ brings damage.
@@princesslyna3207 I like to think Deconstruction was more like a side mission with no relations to the actual story. Even as a child, it never made since why CJ would do something so evil out of nowhere. He never displayed such evilness throughout the game.
Kendl isn't stupid and she's never done anything to make her stupid or look stupid and don't know why you think that or would say that she's actually smart
15:28 i hate this mission. I hate Loc. The fact that it was supposed to be a happy celebration and then the guy and his girlfriend got killed to help this idiot pains me. Her screams makes me so, so saddened i cant explain. I can bury the foremen in concrete and dont break a sweat, i kill cops and ballas and everthing is fine... incriminate the D.A. and laugh it off...but this mission, this mission in particular... i wish it was skippable
i love how woozy Stands up to say IRS i bet money if Madd dogg said "yeah" the next words out of Woozy's mouth would be "give me a hour" 1 hour later "ok Dogg got it all sorted out your mansion is yours again"
13:28 I find it funny that CJ says he's "not in the rap game" when later on in the game, he actually DOES get in the rap game when he becomes Madd Dogg's manager.
I like you kid. Keep this up and stay out of trouble. You put alot of thought into this. It was entertaining and raised a good question i never even noticed, or bothered to ask myself. Good job, keep up the good content!
It is a crying shame the introduction was not a part of every copy of the game by default. As a kid, I probably didn’t know that little bit of extra story was even there for probably 10 years
I think he was just so scared it slipped his mind. He knows what carl is capable of so he was thinking about surviving, hoping carl wasn't there to kill him
