What you talk about in this video is a common case of hoarders mentality, the thing with hoarders mentality that i noticed is that the more resources a player can have the more they'll hoard, for example, if you could only carry 10 rockets in doom you'd want to use them more because otherwise you'd just have a bunch of rockets laying around in the map, since the game lets you carry 100 rockets max you can pretty much always carry more, its why i liked how doom eternal limited your max ammo more alongside giving you more incentives to not just max out ammo, in 2016 i always max out ammo first as that allows me to carry more ammo than i'll ever need, while in eternal i have to consider the other upgrades sentinel crystals can give me, this is why i'm a advocate of limiting the players overall inventory capacity to the best tune of your game it can be, demon souls gave the player too much healing due to the amount of grass a player could carry while dark souls 1 had a brilliant healing system with it being more commital and needing the humanity as a resourse to get more healing only for a certain area.

Ah, I see. So that would mean that on pistol start, people would have to use more powerful ammo out of necessity. Unfortunately, that would mean there isn't much I can do to encourage players to use more of their resources on continuous play. 😐

@@GTXDash damn thanks for the heart and pin mate :), also if continuous play is a concern the usual solution is to break up the wad into episodes like how eviternity does it as that means a resourse reset at the end of each episode effectively, a hacky thing that can also be done is a death end, when a player dies in doom and still finishes the level the next level is a pistol start, sunlust used that to account for cotinuous play lol, one neat thing was how one map had a death exit but by doing a hard optional fight you could get a normal exit to the next level, some mods like infested have a setting you can turn on or off for pistol start also.

I love Doom Zero, a very detailed wad and possibly one of the best. The use of the gargoyle switches, the not linear maps, quantity of ammo, etc, are really fun to play, you just have to do it using everything that you get.

Crust one of my favourites of Zero. Small weapons for small monsters. Big weapons for big monsters. Simple 👌

I noticed the weapons look faster in this video than when I played it first time, did a new version came out?

Can't say I've had this problem on Doom Zero , it was well balanced weapon wise. I tend to lean more on the super shotty sure but larger enemies or groups tend to get the plasma or rocket launcher.

I didn't have that specific problem with Doom Zero. My primary issue with it is the amount of silly/tedious lift puzzles in almost every map. Edit: I did enjoy it, a solid 8/10, but especially towards the end I just could not be bothered with the lift BS even thought I knew how to do it. idclip it was.

That's perfectly fine that you don't like everything about this mod. Not every player had this problem I talked about in this video. I'll take an 8/10 anyday :D

I like wads that replace barons with something more interesting. Like anihilators from Eviternity. I feel like baron does nothing better than hellknight.

Wait... How did you add the latest version of DOOM zero into unity?

What you are looking at is the latest IWAD version that was made specifically to run on the unity port. I have sent a copy to id Software, hoping they will update the old version with this one. But it seems like they didn't. I might create a PWAD version of this and upload it to ModDB for anyone that may want to play the latest build in the Unity port.

​@@dawidgranie5101 Oh, right. Something I didn't know before one of the guys at id told me is that you can run PWADs in the Unity port, but only certain kinds, usually mappacks only. You can also only do it on the PC version. The PWAD of Doom Zero doesn't work, that's why I had to make an IWAD version. But for other PWADs that are only mappacks, you can place them in \Users\ (user name) \Saved Games \id Software \DOOM 2(or Doom Classic) \WADs Then you can load it up in the Add-ons menu.
