Seeing that Peavey XXX in the background makes me miss mine. Played MANY shows with it and never had an issue. I only used the crunch channel with a TS9. Perfect mid range for all the riffs.
I've done a few demos recently on different software. (hertz and krimh drums). I mix up what program I'm using sometimes, but you can get a lot of info on my process from those videos.
Ya OttoAudio has the same idea where the amps mostly aren't based on famous high gain amps and just given a random 'brutal' name coding. I'd say TSE X50 is still my fav sounding amp sim out there though, I'm a meat and potatoes kind of guy, 5150 /mk2 are basically all I need

Your videos are always so well lit. I did RU-vid for a while last year and really struggled to get accurate color representation of guitars while also having my face at normal brightness, but you've NAILED IT - would love to know your secrets!
Not a current one. But somewhere in my library I have a little bit of an older video on my studio before I expanded it. Possibly some videos of the expansion… but I can’t remember what was public and what was through Patreon. It’s a room in my garage essentially. I built a wall half way down the 2 car garage and made 1 side my studio.
The tilt is actually applying a tilt EQ curve! If you have pro Q 3, or some other more advanced EQ's it essentially allows you to boost highs, and cut lows (similar to a shelf, but the "line" of the EQ stays flat. It essentially allows you to keep the characteristic of the amps while still brightening darkening! It also allows you to go a lot more minimal with the change as its broad band, and sounds a bit more natural to the ear!
Reaper is great man, free evalution license, and $60 for personal use if you ever want to support the company who makes it! Definitely recommend it to most people looking to start out home recording! We are also releasing a standalone version of this you can use as it's own Windows/Mac app as well in a free update very soon! 🤘

It might not have a name and a skin based on a modern high gain amp but it definitely sounds like a modern high gain amp, so... Is it really THAT different?
I think so. I mean all high gain tones are going to be based on some sort of amp to some extent. I cut out a whole section where I rambled about the axefx and the fractal models vs the legacy models, and why I think that component modeling is cool... basically being able to swap out KT88's in an amp that wouldn't normally support it, or changing internal values that wouldn't normally be possible (you can see why I cut it out)... basically I think that is the direction that amp sims should go. Make something that's impossible to make in real life.
Hey Jorge! I think if you give it a trial you'll start to see where it actually differs a ton from the classic amps! Of course, these ARE modeled after specific hardware, but nothing we modeled ended up being stock versions of any of the amps. We did 3 modded versions of each amp (our favorite iterations (for example this amp, but with a bias mod), and then from there we added our enhance and tilt, as well as multiple tweaks to how each knob feels and reacts per amp! So we think it's kind of the best of both worlds, if you aren't after the exact specific sound one amp is made for!
