Note for Alex (which he may already know): "Shelving" _usually_ means that the project has hit a massive wall in some way, so they're diverting resources to a project with shorter or no obstacles. Now whether "shelved" in these particular cases means "we need to take some months and go back to the drawing board" or "we need to take some months and renegotiate with certain people" or "this will gather cobwebs in production hell until someone finally remembers it and either dusts it off or tosses it" remains to be seen. I just personally hope the "Johnson Trilogy" is going to become _someone else's_ trilogy. Also: I don't see why a Jedi couldn't put some kind of sophisticated biometric lock on their saber that requires live midichloreans to activate. Surely the Jedi Order, of all organizations, would have that kind of tech.
its a like a passage in into the dark which goes something like that. flying takes an enourmous amount of concentration its nothing that can be accomplished in a situation like this. So you Jedis can only fly when you dont need it? although the failsafe doesnt need to be connected to the force right, it could be as easy as a fingerprint sensor thing. I would explain it because once again the arrogance of the jedi who cant believe someone would be able to steal their weapon again.
Q&A: Do you think the clones in the 501st knew that Vader was Anakin? They were under Anakin's command during the Clone Wars, followed him as Lord Vader (before the armor, looking like Anakin) into the Jedi Temple during Order 66, and then were under Vader's command after he got his black armored suit (same name, different appearance). Were they sworn to secrecy or were the ones that had seen Vader before his armor killed? In the canon Vader comic where Jocasta Nu revealed his identity as Anakin in front of some clones, Vader immediately killed those clones
Loved hearing about your thoughts on Avar Kris and, as someone who sticks mostly to the books, would love a video that tells the throughline her story. Thanks!
Q&A: canonically, why is nearly every droid sentient? I can understand the advantage for a protocol droid that needs to interact with humans like 3PO, but for an astromech like R2 it seems overkill or even detrimental. An even more interesting example is the mouse droid that gets scared by chewie: why would the droid-abusing Empire produce millions of conscious mouse droids?
Idk about mouse droids but r2 makes sense because they were sold to the public too, and it’s nice to have a companion like that, and we have seen r2 help many times because of his sentience
8:10 this was the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen you explain. I loved how genuine you were, lolll I almost believed it until the action figures came in.
I'm concerned about Rouge Squadron because it's a pilots movie. Did we forget that Star Wars Resistance was supposed to be a series about pilots as well? 🤔
Guess you weren't around back in the day when there was 6 tiers of canon. G canon was for video games. It specifically mentioned that abilities and other things maybe exaggerated for the sake of gameplay but not completely accurate to the story. Hence Starkiller.
@@GazingTrandoshan He's got Knives Out 2 and a Netflix series under his belt so I imagine he'll want to do them first while Lucasfilm sorts itself out.
Announcements & cancelations are common thing in Hollywood. The difference is that SW & other big ticket franchises do the same things above are more critical 10 fold.
Q&A: Do you think the Book of Boba Fett will have the Polynesia Spa type like Spa in Star Wars Universe for Boba Fett relax in a Spa or a Hot Spring since Boba Fett's face appeared to be different and clean from Season 2 of The Mandalorian had shown and plus I seen the Polynesia Spa Memes showed that Terramura Morrison enjoys the Polynesia Spa as well in his spare time as well?
Q&A: What kind of sillier stories would you like to see? Of course we're getting the Lego stuff and Detours is *right there* (if they'd ever release it), but what other more off brand or goofy stories would you like to see?
I don't remember any names but i do remember reading about some jedi who had the switch on the inside. Since they didn't have to press a button with a finger it also meant they could put the button anywhere inside the hilt which also prevented other force users from activating it without knowing where the button was.
I fully agree with Mollie, Palpatine's return was handled a lot better in Canon than in Legends. Yes it is basically the same concept but it was treated a lot more seriously, there were real consequences for Palpatine possessing a clone, it's clear that Exegol was like his one and only chance versus in Legends where he just jumped from clone to clone and with no real drawbacks If anything happens to Keeve or Avar, I will riot I swear
There were draw backs tho. His clone bodies in legends degraded very quickly. He was on borrowed time as he waited to try to grab a functional body again. Also each time he body swapped he has a chance of not transferring correctly when he’s not prepared to die. In dark empire the first time he dies he’s old and fully prepared for it. The second time he dies many of his followers immediately abandon him because they’ve come to the understanding that he could potentially be lost to the void for millennia if he ever manages to return
@@informalgeek1196 eh if still doesn’t impact him that much also didn’t like destiny his main facility of clones because of that it got worse for him hm which is ridiculous
I imagine part of the Lightsaber thing would also be like - it's still a ceremonial weapon. It makes sense that most Jedi wouldn't want to mess with the core design, it's part of their culture
0:36 i think that it could but it is much easier to not have it because if a jedi where to be ambushed it be me much quicker and much faster to react on instinct and ignite without having to concentrate on activatong it
Q&A: do you think the clone 99 might have gave Wrecker Lula, and that is why he has such an attachment to the doll? and why do you think the bad batch is called clone force 99?
Why do lightsabers turn off when the wielder lets go of it or drops it? I thought it was a thing to do with the Force but after your first question, lightsabers aren't activated by the Force.
When I was a kid I always thought the Jedi used the Force to power their lightsabers. You never really see anybody press an ignition switch on screen. Also, when someone drops their lightsaber it seems to power down automatically when it leaves their hand, which I took to mean their concentration had been broken by being disarmed.
Obi Wan: You have red lightsabers, but you hardly appear to be Sith Lords. Inquisitor 1: We are inquisitors, servants loyal to Lord Vader and the Empire! I am the fifth brother! Inquisitor 2: And I am the Pi Brother, meaning I'm Brother 3.1415 - Inquisitor1: Dammit Jerry we've been over this, just pick 12.
QnA: In the New Republic, do you think it’s possible that certain planets have their own militia (not necessarily the Resistance) despite the New Republic’s demilitarization? The New Republic seems to be much less forceful than the Empire so it seems a planet creating its own military or militia seems possible to me.
I don't think a lot of people realise just how dangerous lightsabers would be. It's hard enough learning how to wield a regular old sword without hurting yourself but a lightsaber is so much more dangerous to the wielder than a sword is that, honestly, I wouldn't even attempt to light one up. Hell, I wouldn't even want to hold one in the off chance I accidentally turned it on and cut myself in half or cut a hole in a ship's hull or killed someone who happened to be standing near me. Just wielding one, at all, would require the enhancements of being Force Sensitive to not pose more danger to oneself than to anyone you'd try to wield it against, even with significant training, skill, agility and discipline.
Well RU-vid sucks! My notifications for your channel got turned off! Ive missed like 2 monthe of content...needless to say but Ive been feening for some good Star Wars content from you
If you could use the Force to turn on an internal switch in your lighsaber, then your opponent could use the Force to turn it off. I think a mechanical, locking switch is the best way to go.
In the old wizard of the coast rpg game, Star Wars saga (not sure if it ever was canon but it was an official publication ) there was the option to create a force activated saber to make sure that just force user could use it.
I'm sure I remember an old eu book that said in lightsaber combat you had to constantly stop the other force user turning off your saber and sheild yourself against force choke etc. And pretty sure there was a group who stole Jacen and Jana solo that used the force to turn on ther sabers.
I feel like the Obi Wan series should start with the end. “If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.” It shows his death scene and the series is Obi Wan recalling his life and coming to terms and accepting his death in that moment. I don’t know.
Would you be bothered if inquisitors in Kenobi are an actual challenge for him? Especially if they are ones we have seen before? The ones we've seen ahsoka take apart with ease and be even matches at best for 1/4 trained: Kal and Kanan don't make me think they're quality opponents.
You are given the opportunity to swap a finished story arc for any unfinished Story Arc in Clone Wars, but the caveat is you can only chose stuff after the show's initial run, so anything from Seasons 1 through 5 is off limits. Which arc from the Lost Missions or Final Season gets cut, and which unfinished arc takes its place and why? We don't need to worry about fitting the current canon if necessary. Arcs available to lose: Conspiracy of Order 66 (4 episodes) The Return of Clovis (3 episodes) Jar Jar Binks and the Temple of Doom (2 episodes) The Origins of the Clone Army (1 episode) and Yoda's Force Journey (3 episodes) These two connect, but they feel so different. The Bad Batch (4 episodes) Ahsoka's Walkabout (4 episodes) The Siege of Mandalore (4 episodes) Arcs available to add: Son of Dathomir (4 episodes) Crystal Crisis on Utapau (4 episodes) Dark Desciple (8 episodes) Boba and Cad Bane/Bounty Hunter Arc (4 episodes) Kashyyyk (4 episodes) Rex and R2 Top Gun (4 epsidoes) Yuuzhan Vong (probably 4 episodes) Return to the Jedi Temple (probably 4 episodes) Return to Mon Cala (4 episodes)
Yeah also as a Star Trek fan and we had 3 movies Star Trek (2009) Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek beyond. And the fourth one has been shelved for years. And they might do one in 2023.
Q&A: With all the mention of the old Republic potentially getting a Canon reboot how different do you think it would be? From the latest Thrawn book we know the Old Republic was around at least 5,000 years ago and had multiple species as a part of it but we now know it wasn't until 4,800 years later that they started properly exploring the Outer Rim, a region of space frequently visited during the Legends version of the Old Republic. Maybe the Core Worlds are the Republic and they're exploring what will become the Mid Rim? Did a long war with the Sith just stop all attempts to explore further? Bacta tanks wouldn't be around and it seems hyper space travel is still limited in the New Republic era... it's fun to speculate so I thought I'd ask your opinion!
I wouldn’t mind the “shelving”, Alex. According to the rumor, this happened due to creative differences. Same as in RO and Solo, my guess is that at least Rogue Squadron is continuing (given that it was properly announced) but with a different creative.
Q&A: What was the general galactic public's understanding of Palpatine's role in the Clone Wars after his downfall? Presumably they didn't know he was a Sith, but did it become known that he was involved with the Separatists, or was his legacy more of "good man corrupted by years of war"? (Or maybe he was just always a slimy politician and got worse as it went on.)
Avar Kriss dying seems unlikely, not everyone who reads the books reads the comics. Unless she's front and centre of the next book she most likely won't die. I reckon it would be someone like Stellen Gios, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Also I see Avar heading down a darker path, perhaps she may even fall to the dark side. Maybe they might link her and Elzar Mann's story together, being that he is someone who has taken a step down the dark path but he realised that what he had done was too far in the wrong direction and asked for help. Considering there past history I see that idea as a possibility.
We’ve never seen the third inquisitor but we saw fourth sisters outfit in a comic I forget which one. I think it was either adventures or vaders castle. We didn’t actually see her though just someone dressed as her
Light Sabers would be carried for ceremony and pride. Being a Jedi during that time is glorious. Why not show the would what you stand for and represent? The Rein Johnson trilogy is not going to be made. Fan boys would riot and the media will remind everyone of the death of Luke in his movie. After all these years it is clear that decision was the beginning of the end. Squadrons will be made, but will be for Disney +, like Han solo should have been. PS... i am a faithfull viewer and I would love your give-aways, but I'm to lazy to go through the application steps. Thanks anyway.
One thing canon did better: Ended the Galactic Civil War a year after endor instead of it dragging on another 19 years. One thing legends did better: Showed Luke restoring the Jedi Order and seeing it flourish.
I think legends handled the fall of the Empire a lot better then Canon. While Operation Cinder makes sense the scale of it does not. I believe OC would have been hampered by Imperial Officers becoming warlords trying to make there own little empire.
