Here are a few things to consider From the autobiography that Kwame Nkrumah penned himself He confirms he was born in Nkroful He says his father came from Nkroful and his mother is from the same tribe as his father (Nzema) Whilst he does allude to Nsuaem & Dadieso he claims his maternal line settled in Nzema hundreds of years ago He lost his notes about this lineage in the new york subway After leaving there centuries ago how did the people of Nsuaem.and Dadieso know of his existence if? No doubt over those centuries there would have been many intermarriages and they would be most likely be with the community his ancestors lived amongst (the Nzema) thus increasing the Nzema genes and lineage. Can it be certified from the time his ancestor(s) left Wassa or Aowin that the lineage was continuous and exclusively from female family members ? As Royalty for most Akan groups traditions is matrilineal! Considering he left Ghana at a tender age to study and returned to engage in political activity fighting for independence when did the kingmakers decide to seek him for enstoolment? Mindful a stool would also need to be vacant for this to happen Whilst by his own admission he has a connection with these places after so long his ancestry would be largely Nzema. Would the same be done for say a Fante whose family left Bono Manso 700 years ago who says his ancestors came from the Bonohene line ? I am not convinced by this narration. But we all like to associate ourselves with great Women & Men !
