Did you even watch this full episode? First when she first came on she automatically got on to Dr Phil because he brought somebody on the show and her words she specifically said not to bring as if she's the boss he corrected her then then instead of taking the blame for trying to be bossy she tried to say one of The Producers agreed to it and tried to get her in trouble she comes out and confronts her because she never did that and then Bailey still played the victim because the producer confronted her so she felt embarrassed and felt the producer was rude when the producer was not rude she was Stern but she wasn't rude but I would be rude if somebody literally freaking blame me for something they did and then she constantly went on being dramatic and everything else and if I was Dr Phil I'd have her go too I mean she was being extra dramatic she wanted the attention not to mention this so-called love story was between her and another girl that's not a love story but yeah she wasn't desperate for help when she sat there and constantly tried to be manipulative it wasn't just this scene she was a terrible guest

I know 😭 she handled it so maturely and respectfully, and her apology was a great example of interpersonal effectiveness. She came for help for something that was broadcasted publicly, in a way that portrayed her as "crazy" and just negatively in general. The way the show portrayed her made her super vulnerable to being judged by thousands of people she doesn't even know, based only on how the show was handled. It was humiliating, and her behavior was clearly an emotional reaction to the frankly distressing experience of being humiliated in real time. And it was clear that she NEVER intended to come off the way Dr. Phil was characterizing. Everything she said seemed misunderstood and distorted into something more negative than it truly was. He was so hostile and ready to jump at any opportunity to upbraid her and invalidate her words/actions as "manipulation" or "living in fantasy land." He was really not showing empathy towards Bailey throughout this whole episode. 💔I wonder how she is doing now. I hope she got genuine help. Compassionate, supportive, ethical help.

How is this not getting attention from the media? Every mental health patient deserves help she's literally asking for help, if he thinks she's acting like a victim then teach her, guide her how to act, don't sit there and tell her she's unfixable that's rule number one in psychology, if you think she's "manipulative" you don't say that to a person like they are incurable, there are proper ways to deal with this or to say it like " your behavior was manipulative in this particular situation" etc but don't just point fingers on someone and say " you're manipulative I'm not interested in helping you" she's already a mental health patient meaning she needs help she needed YOUR help, so you remain patient with your clients till they heal you don't criticize them and tell them they're unfixable that's psychology 101

I’m a male and I seem to have some of the same problems and delusions that bailey has. I can tell that shes actually subconsciously aware of her delusions and is somewhat embarrassed which actually caused her feel shamed when the audience was laughing at her. She was being laughed at and in return she felt the need to respond in the moment, but in a way she thought was non offensive and in passing. So I can tell she didn’t mean to offend and was completely caught of guard with the way Dr. Phil responded by telling her to leave. I didn’t get the vibe that she was “intentionally” (for lack of a better word) being disrespectful but if she came out that way she genuinely didn’t mean for it to come off like that. I can also see that she listens when someone speaks out about her attitude and in return tries to over correct hold herself accountable. I also noticed that she is very smart but has a tough time letting out her emotions which cause them to build up. Even in the moment of talking to the woman she stalked Bailey didn’t know how to deal with her emotions. Sometimes this inability to cope with emotions and reality can cause obsessive behavior. Above all things she also seems to struggle with explaining to others about how she feels. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s often misunderstood by the people around her. Dr. Phil essentially handled the situation the opposite of how a professional should. He took her comments, throughout the entire episode, at a face and personal value instead of understanding the psychology behind the way she was thinking and acting.

The video of Dr. Phil interviewing Bailey raises concerns about his quick judgment and lack of empathy. His approach simplifies complex issues and dismisses Bailey's claims without sufficient investigation. This highlights the potential dangers of media portrayals of mental health and the importance of critical thinking, ethical media practices, and responsible representation of mental health professionals. We should strive for open and honest conversations about mental health, considering alternative perspectives and avoiding quick judgments.

@@sofiaafsirius500 You're creating a strawman argument. I did not question Dr. Phil's knowledge about narcissism nor did I question his education at any point. However, his education is different from mine as I am a forensic psychiatrist, not a psychologist that hosts a TV show which has the mere purpose of self-adulation. Therefore, you cannot compare our development. To get back on topic, Dr. Phil meets many criteria of a typical narcissist when I analyze his behavior, body language and assertions. What makes you think that you know more than most people with a degree within the psychiatric field? Do you have any empirical data for such a bold claim or isn't it rather solely your personal opinion - which is prone to faultiness? Diagnosing a narcissistic personality disorder is no easy endeavour because it shares characteristics of different disorders, some of which express the same symptoms but are part of a mental disease. I have worked with hundreds of patients that denied their diagnosis with the excuse that they'd know better due to personal experience. However, personal experience is not an indicator for your proficiency in terms of recognizing personality disorders within your social environment. Assigning yourself the ability to do so is careless and dangerous.
