Very interesting. While I was listening to the album, I kept thinking to myself how these two individuals are polar opposites of each other, yet they followed the exact same path. But one actually grew up, and the other is still living in his 20s despite the fact that he's almost 40. I really feel like if Drake took the path that Gambino did, returned back to his roots, and really got back into acting, he would have grown up by now, and the trajectory of his career wouldn't have gone the way that it has gone so far.

When I heard the funny guy from Community was now trying to rap, it made me sick to my stomach. In my mind, another person commercializing Hip Hop for their own benefit. In short, another Aubrey. And then I heard/watched This is America and was blown away by the message. That is what Hip Hop is, a mirror and commentary on society and real hip hop artists are; authentic and speaking their truths.. That's when I began listening to Childish Gambino. Never looked back.

Been watching Donald Glover since Derrick Comedy on RU-vid. He helped write and acted on Community, one of my fav shows. Only to evolve and create Atlanta on top of that. And! He's an incredible music artist? His legacy and cultural impact is leagues above Drake.
