Thank you for covering this topic. This is an important discussion. Email is probably the most evergreen method, at least nowadays, for communication online. It has many advantages (such as a few you mentioned), whereas with social media it can very easily become like chasing rabbits, vying for people's attention. What's your own personal experience with email marketing? I'm wondering if I need to wait to get an official email through getting my own website for email campaigns vs. just using the free one I currently use. Also, on the topic of websites (and thus brand/identity), do you know of any good examples or models of someone who runs various projects (different artist names) under the umbrella of their own record label? I'm seeking a way to brand myself more cohesively, if possible, as an artist rather than a label. Please feel free to share your own experience that can relate to that, too.
