Thanks for showing the unedited images as well as the edited images. I wish every photographer/reviewer did this as well on RU-vid. It gives the viewer a view of what actually comes out of the camera/lens combo.

Awesome video Manny and I couldn't agree more! I'm a prime lens lover as well but there's a reason why I bought a 24-70 like 8 years ago and even though I hardly use it, I still never got rid of it because you never know when you're going to need it!

even for wedding videography, 24-70mm is a must have!

I have been on the fence about this lens since I am getting ready to shoot my first wedding. Thank you so much for what you do for our photography community. You are a great inspiration. Thanks, JB

I agree with you Manny! Love the sony 24-70 GM, been shooting with it for more than a year now, the versatility of its focal length is just enough to shoot an events especially if you only have one body, just perfect for my sony a7R3, if I needed more reach I'll just shoot for crop mode for the 70mm then I got instantly 105mm with decent resolution with my a7R3. Definitely love this combo even before I had the a7R2!

As a prime lover myself, I definitely agree with the constant switching and losing shots. Thanks for the vid!

I concur with everything u said in this video. I love my 24-70 also. It's so much more convenient for weddings, kids, and landscape. Those images u showed were stunning! Especially that first one!

Totally agree with the points you make. I generally use the 24-105 f/4 as my general purpose lens, but use the 24-70 f/2.8 a lot when I know I want shallower depth of field. Two excellent lenses to master when you need the flexibility of a zoom.

While I have the 24-70 f4 from well before the GM was introduced, my 16-35 is really my walkaround and used extensively in architecture. I don't do weddings, but special/corporate events find the 70-200 more useful. Looking at replacing the 24-70 f4 and the GM version is the last distant option. The real choice is the Tamron or a Batis 25 to pair with my existing 55 and 85.

I agree with you I love prime lenses! The 24-70 can really help when your shooting weddings instead of switching out with primes. At this point not willing to make that investment since I don’t want to shoot weddings or be a wedding photographer long term. As far as portraits go. I can get a very similar look with my 35mm & at a 1.4 you can still see a lot of background detail!

So good! I love me a good prime but for those paid gigs I always grab for my trusty Canon 24-70 F2.8. My clients never notice the nuances of colour loss compared to primes (especially once edited) only that I gave them a diverse set of shots with good coverage in a small amount of time. Great videos!

The point about 'when you're not in control of the situation, the 24-70 is a must-have' really hit home for me. I recently bought the 24-70/4 used for a decent price, but haven't used it much. But, I haven't done a lot of shooting in an uncontrolled setting (markets, events etc). Keeping it in the bag makes a lot more sense in my head now, when thinking about it in terms of controlled vs. uncontrolled environments. Thanks for the video, sir.

I agree with this! I do events and having an all-purpose lens like the 24-70 is a must have! I only shot with primes if I have control of the environment and going for a specific look!

I’ve gotten paid to do portraits the past two years. I’ve been using a 16-35mm 2.8 or jumping to my 135 G master 1.8 for solo shots. Today I ordered the Sigma 24-70 mm 2.8 ART lens & I can’t wait to have that versatility in my bag. Another great video as always!
