I am totally agree with your suggestions! I am a inside scoope fan, I love it sooo much ,I hope they can reserve physical store, I think the packaging ice cream taste is not good as fresh one. Then I am really excited to try jom cha ice cream, where you said it taste better than mcdi ice cream,haha

Really appreciate your insights Frankie. Numbers can only tell so much, it's good to hear the qualitative side as well. Agreed with the strategy with introducing the ice cream tubs to foreign markets first. Just like people having certain phone brands first, then the demand to have its own stores arises.

Love Inside Scoop. Besides the yummy ice cream, they expanded their menu covering coffee waffles ice cream etc as well. It is a good move by Farm Fresh acquiring Inside Scoop, win win for all ...looking forward to the outlets expansion of the brands with more varieties and the best fresh ingredients of Farm Fresh milk. Looking at the progress, I think the next step that need much effort and improvement on the part of Farm Fresh is on market strategy and product differentiation. Malaysia has all the different local unique fruits besides durian that can be added up to the varieties. Wish all the best to Farm Fresh in venturing to the other side of the business

Consumers enjoyment doesnt mean the other consumers in other income bracket are enjoying it as Inside Scoop price point is only targeting T20 group if you have been to the number of Inside Scoop stalls.

Every working class deserve a little bit of indulgence every now and then. Inside scoop has the best quality ice creams and one of the top choice of craving for one who likes to pamper him/herself once in a while with their hard earned cash. Looking at the outlets, I can see customers enjoying their cup of coffee besides ice cream with some waffles ice cream. To most. the price is still considered affordable compared to the other premium ice creams in the market. Besides the standard menu, the brand is also coming up with some promotion along the way. Moving forward, it is all about varieties and way to market them. The management should make full use of every outlet space attracting all class of consumers with more varieties and promotion

I personally buy Farm Fresh milk for my family for few reasons- cheaper, quality and supporting local product. However, I wish they could diversify into other staple milk-related products such as butter. Maybe the rest could agree too?

It was an excellent deal for inside scoop. I would have also sold it straight away too. As for farm fresh, I think they over paid, big time. They should have, IMO, instead buy into an existing larger scale ice cream manufacturer. Access to retail (as 3rd party minus the cost of leasing spaces) and ability to export or build an export market.

When you first introduce a new product to the market, the first impression is very important. By showing up as a generic new brand ice cream inside the freezer, the brand is not going to have a lasting impact in consumers mind. However, trying to appeal to the upper segment of consumers by introducing a somewhat premium range of products and subsequently follow up with a mass market branded consumer packaged product will have a stickier crowd. This ofcourse necessitates larger outlay and continued brand equity investments, which according to your snippet is not going to trouble Farm Fresh. My 2c

Thanks for your comment! There are many types of consumers in the market, it is up to FFB management to do enough homework and deploy the best strategy that they think will work for Inside Scoop. The problem for Inside Scoop is not capital anymore, is whether they know how to scale the business effectively in Malaysia.

Personally i really like their fresh milk soft serve. I think otherwise, cuz I tried their signature drinks is really good which uses fresh milk. And i think their price is affordable RM7.8 or RM8.8 not sure, definitely not Starbucks price.

They could do a Baskin Robbins, having both outlets and tubs, with the caveat in the medium run is that the tubs only being sold at outlets. Many people also buy inside scoop through food delivery services, especially their cakes, and full tubs can be an additional product in that. I'd rather see Inside Scoop focus on their outlet experience when they want to expand to foreign markets, because that is how people perceive their quality. One can sell below par ice cream, if the presentation is nice enough. Besides, I don't think Starbucks would have been able to expand in Italy if they sold bottled lattes in convenience stores first.

One thing in my mind is that, now since they could control the costing of ice cream at lower cost (as they can use in-house milk etc), does that make their future profit margin higher?

this farm fresh boss is really a entrepreneur soul, if listed my company like farm fresh, i will slowly sell my share and keep the money for retirement and enjoy life after that. who want to spend money to acquire this company and than need to manage it. anyway respect farm fresh , they really work hard to expand, they mgmt really a good spirited team, even start earning a lot of money but keep the united team together and try achieve new dream, not like most of the other company, once start earning money start to have conflict, then start to sell share then sold off the company, even conflict within the family, hope farm fresh can show a good example as role model how to unite the team together. good luck.

The stores have sales of RM1m per store - which is quite high for a dessert store. To keep these stores sales this high may require a passion that a corporate bureaucracy may not have. These passion business with very variable/high churn SKUs takes a lot of management

Farm fresh should focus on their main products first.. They HV issues on quality ie easily spoilt for fresh milk and milk cuddles for package milk..

One specific year numbers are used in this video because it is the year where the world is experiencing hyper inflation. But you are right, to derive a sound investment decision, an investor needs to analyse a range of data and not a snapshot of a particular year.

the thing is how many Inside Scoop outlets are profitable as they are only targeting the T20 bracket consumers. Good pay out to the existing founders but its not a good deal to Farm Fresh.

knowing this brand and their outlet, not convince with their report at all. In fact it has already going into the downward spiral of moving into lower price segment for gross revenue gain. Prime example of this strategy is secret recipe. All indication shows FF are holding a lot of cash but don't know what to do with it and picked this ice cream thing. Instead, be patient all in into formula & cheese products that generates higher margin could have gave FF better outlook

Would appreciate doing an apple to apple comparison in the future. A cup of starbucks vs just pure milk doesn't account for the cost of machine, environment, manpower differences. Very concerning if these are the types of analytical videos moving forward.

Actually, I think unlike your idea of Inside scoop remaining artisan in Malaysia. I think branding and product differentiation is key. Let inside scoop remain as it is, but the consumer ice creams sold in the supermarket should be sold under the Farm Fresh brand instead.

Farm fresh is the best milk i ever drank that sold in supermarket Some boba tea brands like Alley do settled on farm fresh milk after testing with othe brands for past few years and it does complement the milk tea So farm fresh could come up with a milk tea and sell it at the price of tealive Acquiring inside scoop is really a smart move, if they want to sell their tubs in supermarket to compete with , then they should atleast improve the environment , so I doesn't greatly effect the ice cream shop like HD or BR limbo Eating ice cream is a pretty weird process , everyone eat a scoop , licking off the cone But current inside scoop environment are quite open , a serving bar and few tables in the open, u basically watching how others ppl licking their ice cream or the licking off the spoon(luckily its disposable), so its a little bit awkward unless you're trying to show off ur skills Just saying la.... consumer experience decides whether they would come back or not Maybe they could come up with their own cheese in the future? Becoz cheese is the 1 thing that could significantly increase the price of milk that doesn't involve alot of "additionals", basically milk and time Malaysia doesn't have much option in cheese , graded cheese that are not the nice and good cheese that very expensive, and those square ones aren't really a cheese Cheese production in Malaysia are pretty small so restaurants still depends on imports packets of graded or shredded cheese , unless farm fresh could have a large production scale to supply the market and lower production cost with their own milk
