Dave used to build his FuzzFoot's in round FuzzFace-style enclosures. I ordered one about 20 years ago and sold it when I was downsizing my gear. Pretty sure it was a hybrid (but it was a great fuzz). I haven't seen any of those really old ones for sale on eBay or Reverb.

JHS devoting so much tie to good content is definitely amplifying them in the market. I have bought two of their pedals in the last year ONLY because I watch all their videos. Josh's willingness to discuss every type of pedal makes him have a general rapport with the blue collar pedal folks and we end up being curious to try out his pedals.

My favorite Pavement record is Wowee Zowee. I think “Grounded” is perfection. “Rattled By the Rush” will get stuck in my head for days and it illustrates Pavement’s unique blend of rock music. I dig that they went to Nashville to make an album and came up with this. Slanted is a watershed album but not what I reach for first.

Being from their hometown, Louisville, I’ve been exposed to Pavement enough over the years, thankfully, to get over my initial “wtf is this?” reaction and eventually “get it” (I had a similar experience with another Louisville band in Slint’s “Spiderland”- the album that birthed post-rock)... side note: Shady Lane is a real street, about half a mile away from me...

I was that 20% ......I remember that first time..not unlike my first encounter with the Replacement’s, especially when you know nothing or hearing The Cures first....memories that are forced upon you, formed in a way that you remember where you were, what was going on. And exactly what you were doing. That feeling that is a combination of getting hit in the head, and waking up a stranger to yourself. Like the pieces of jigsaw puzzle coming together and giving you a sense of who you are, what you are about. Liberation!. Favorite.... tough call, depends on which way the wind blows. Wowee Zowee any day of the week. Loved those pedals.

ImPRESSED with these pedals. Oddly there was one jam I thought the guitar sounded awful until you turned on the pedal. What a beautiful guitar and sound. Love that you put a tremolo on it. I think it's a similar tremolo system Ambler Guitars uses. Anyway, thanks for the jams, the pedal knowledge and Record Time. I'm in the 20% but I actually think I like Malkmus solo/The Jicks records better overall. I'm not sure which Pavement album changed my life or if any did in a significant way but I def get where you're coming from with that and you're absolutely right.

Foxrox really is OG. Captain Coconut was really ahead its time. So much so that when the time came, it was already discontinued. Record time is a winner and shows another side of your personality. It also shows your passion for music and taste. Where you find the time to make music, build pedals, research and film RU-vid videos, listen to music, have a family etc is beyond me. However, what it does demonstrate is when you're passionate about what you do, you find and make the time. And yes...pavement fan here....errr, ever since the early days. Holy crap... "Craig Anderton". There's a name from my teenage years. I bought a copy of his "Electronic Projects for Musicians".. must have been around 1986? I would have been 13 or 14... just started playing guitar, had a Hondo 77 HSS Strat knockoff, a 10W Yamaha amp... and I couldn't afford pedals. So used this book to try building them.. with mixed results. Pretty sure the talk-box and fuzzes were a success. I never got the noise out of the mixer, and I never managed to find an opto-isolator which drove me nuts as all circuits I wanted to build seemed to need them. I also never got the ferric chloride stains out of the carpet. This book taught me enough to land a weekend job at the local electronics store... which is where I went into the computer side of things with these new 486 CPUs had been released. I've been in IT ever since. Google tells me this book is still available, though not sure if it's in print. Is worth putting together a video for these sorts of resources for people who want to build pedals... perhaps showing how some of the circuits sound?
