Luke has everything. I think he's a 5 star. One important thing is that he loves FSU so if he doesn't win the job in 2025 he won't just leave. He may wait his turn if he doesn't outright beat Glenn out next year
That's when I got on board, and there's been a lot of great players & seasons in that span, but the last several years with JT & Norvell have been particularly special. Even the 5-7 '21 season after backbreaking 0-4 september that year, got back on track & kept it rolling into '22 by beating LSU & announcing we're back.
I don't think Brock Glenn will just give the job to DJU. I think it will be competition that's a lot closer than ppl think. The injury really derailed his development. But u could still see him getting better every game. He will attack the spring with intentions to start even though he may not
I was at work the other day and just randomly thought about the night Jordan Travis got injured and damn near cried, he was such a special player it's heartbreaking, I am looking forward to DJU in garnet and gold and how crazy that game will be when Clemson comes to Tally. But man JT13 was special, I'm looking forward to seeing what Luke Kromenhoek does after a year or two under Norvell's system. GO NOLES !
I just checked JT's career stats @ FSU from 2020 to 2023 to shed some light on two of the issues you raised about DJU's stats @ Clemson and Oregon State, namely Completion % and INTs. 8 games 2020 72 of 131 for 1,056 yards 55.5% comp. 8.1 y/a 6.9 ay/a 6 TD 6 INT 128.6 QBR. 10 games 2021 122 of 194 for 1,539 yards 62.9% comp. 7.9 y/a 8.1 ay/a 15 TD 6 INT 148.9 QBR. 13 games 2022 226 of 353 for 3,212 yards 64.0% comp. 9.1 y/a 9.8 ay/a 24 TD 5 INT 160.1 QBR. 11 games 2023 207 of 324 for 2,756 yards 63.9% comp. 8.5 y/a 9.5 ay/a 20 TD 2 INT 154.5 QBR. I also calculated what JT's stats would have been if he had played in 13 games for 2023: 13 games 2023 245 of 383 for 3,257 yards 63.9% comp. 8.5 y/a 9.5 ay/a 24 TD ~2.4 INT 161.3 QBR From his first season to his last, JT's completion % rose from 55.5% to 64% and his TD/INT ratio rose from 1.0 to 10.0
It's important to consider that not all interceptions are the fault of the QB. Picks happen when the WR runs the wrong route, doesn't gain enough separation between himself and the defender or fails to secure the ball and it bounces into the waiting arms of a defender, . The WR has to make one of two plays on every ball thrown his way: he either (1) catches it or (2) keeps the defender from catching it. Completing Play #2 is what separates the really great WR's from everyone else: they contest every catchable ball either as a WR or a DB.
Let’s be honest about Jordan. He was really really good. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit disappointed with his 2023 season. He didn’t take that final step towards being a “great” QB. He had stretches like the second half against LSU. It just wasn’t sustained. He was also not the runner he was in prior years. We will miss Jordan, but I don’t think the offense has to take a big step backwards.
@@JoshCorby18 I guess we know why unfortunately. And it’s not like he wasn’t winning games. I just wanted him to take that final step as a passer where he was consistently accurate. He would have the flashes of absolute brilliance for a quarter or a half, but then there would be 2 or 3 drives were he would go cold.
@@sheridan891 yea you can’t blame Mike for doing it, especially after him suffering injuries the 2 seasons prior. Him being unleashed in a playoff game would’ve been a sight to see
Luke looks to have all the tools but I would love him to start as a Junior. Brock, imo had a chance to be way better than people expected, his courage in the pocket and his passes being just a little off as he was learning, looking like if he gets comfortable and not thrown into fire he would be amazing.(he reminds me of how no one thought Tom Brady would be a dude at Michigan, everyone was waiting for Drew Henson). DJU,I would love for Norvell to shock the world and make things easy for him, like Meyer did with Tebow. Give him some runs, then launch Jalen Lucas into the Percy Harvin mode, and next thing you know when DJU does pass everything is wide open;and when the defense adapts to that our RB corps out of a two back set demoralizes them.
Tate woulda been nice to develop this year but he rly had the same time as Jordan and we STILL couldn’t get in w him. We need DJ to be the same animal but a different beast 🧍🏾♂️
Need a quarterback who distributes the ball like Ward and Weinke, not a guy who gets stuck on one wide receiver that he goes to every time as his outlet😮
He has a bit more arm talent but it's not exactly a strength. Honestly if he turns out as good as either of those guys in college then that's a huge win imo. Those two knew how to win football games.
