Feel like the only fan of xeno that felt the opposite of mind blown. Just like in 3, whlie there is a very clear exposition, too much detail of major plot elements are left to the imagination to fill in. Not enough direct plot of the trilogy discussed.....by a significant margin. Everything that you could have predicted from the characters in the trailers came completely true. People dont have standards for writing anymore. If it hits your nostalgia you just immediately think its the greatest thing of all time. Xenoblade (as far as the game putting importance on the plot) died after the 1st game.
I had goosebumps watching this, great breakdown of Future Redeemed! I'm so excited for the future of the Xeno series, makes me wonder what events will unfold in Xenoblade 4!
3:27 Honestly, I was disappointed by how Xenoblade 2 music didn't play in the lower non-Prison Island areas of the Black Mountains. Colony 9 got the 1 battletheme and the mountains resemble Genbu a lot more than they do Valak imo, so it seemed like a no-brainer that they just didn't take advantage of at all. 6:40 Huh, I didn't know that was a thing. Neat to know. 7:36 Sadly, we couldn't get all of the protagonists in the "numbered" Xenoblade saga here because Melia(FC) is still MiA at this point of the Aionios-story and Jin(Torna) is ded. 8:18 😂 10:12 Ironically, that is kind of a backwards assessment actually. Sure, the literal forming of Morytha that is shown in the cutscene is because of Klaus, but one has to remember that Klaus was driven to his foolish mistake because the world was already kinda ruined instead of the other way around. The false utopia Alpha projects for Na'el is also the false utopia that the government projected onto society while everything fell apart at the speed of Sanic behind the scenes. And the knowledge of the other Xenogames helps with illustrating that, even if they aren't literally in the same continuity. The Salvators from Xenoblade 2 are a rebel army because they continue being wronged and denied full rights. Their leader Dimitri Yuriev from Saga is a downright megalomaniac who is absolutely ready to ruin sh*t to ascend to godhood. While being a colonyship, the true purpose of the Eldridge from Gears is to contain an artificial god that mankind foolishly created and cannot control. Project Exodus is not an avenue of expansion but rather an emergency plan because the planet was already on the brink of being lost. The characters know none of that, just like any player who jumps in without playing the other games, but knowing the context reveals the truth. That's everything but an ideal world to live in.
Beautiful breakdown and retrospective! This game, is such a masterful way to end a series, and the culmination of a 13 year old epic saga with a lot of passion, struggles and impact! I’ve was honoured to get in the series, just when XC3 was coming and I did NOT regret it, whatsoever!

The Xeno series is really interesting when you zoom out and see how many themes and ideas are consistent and still relevant across all of the titles that have come out throughout the years. Thank you for touching on that and for the pleasant video. I definitely would recommend you try out Xenosaga for yourself someday despite what you clued yourself in on already. Even if you are not a big fan of some of the grander topics covered in Saga, the core ideas will always go back to the characters, like with the Xenoblade games. You will feel all manner of feelings through and because of the main cast. Please know that you will have some excellent top-shelf quality RPG characters to encounter and learn about should you decide to give the Saga Trilogy a try :]
