I plan to watch the show after Gintama because my cousin always recommended it to me, God rest her soul. From what I remember, she told me the last season always left a bad taste in her mouth because it went in opposite and “incoherent” directions and felt like it threw a lot of its build up and set up away, failing its characters and story. I know they ran out of books to adapt too, so of course, when the blueprints for the story aren’t there, it can get chaotic. There’s not that vision of the author, or the tight and cohesive worldbuilding and writing, I assume it wouldn’t be putting it too far from anime filler as an example. Only difference is at least anime filler isn’t canon, this whole season was canon to the show 💀 (I’m assuming)

Imagine having pretty much infinite budget, top tier actors, cinematography, costume design, and overall production value, all at your disposal, only to write things like a character in the middle of a war “kinda forgetting” about her enemies. This was the biggest fumble in the history of television, and a lack of books to adapt doesn’t excuse it. Dumb and Dumber put 0 effort in it.

I would also argue that D&D strayed pretty heavily from the last book. They completely butchered Bran's plot & Dorne as a whole other than Oberyn (Pedro's character in S4).

I don’t think they done that because they thought they could do it better but to reduce the story for them to make it easier to write the later seasons

Running out of books to adapt didn't help but the dickhead Showrunners just wanting to s@it something out and move on to Star Wars is the biggest reason why this show went down in flames. I wish HBO just did what most other shows do, find a new showrunner that does care and is passionate. Sadly, I think the last 2 seasons destroyed the legacy of this show and I would never rewatch it.

Well the show runners wanted to rush to the end and start work on their Star Wars project. I wonder how that's coming along, oh wait it got canceled. Thanks D.B. & D.

The only praise I could give to the last two seasons is Daenerys's outfits. She would have made a fine queen of the seven kingdoms if she wasn't enabled otherwise by the time of the final seasons events.

I actually liked the ending. Not incredible and it definitely has flaws, but I really enjoyed a lot of what it was going for. Bran was bad, but Jaimie and Daenerys they got spot on

Unpopular opinion but I never really liked this show. It’s way too edgy and grim dark for my taste and and a lot of the characters were just unlikable and terrible (it’s pretty exemplifies everything I don’t like about a lot of these modern mainstream dramas like Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, etc and I’ll never understand why they are so popular). I mean I don’t think it’s wrong if other people like them but they’re really not for me.

@@z_6077 I prefer stuff like The Wire, CSI, Brooklyn 99, Tulsa King, Cobra Kai etc. I also started watching a lot of K Drama because I feel like most of those are more original and better than most of these mainstream western shows that don’t appeal to me.

I will never understand why studios think continuing without source material is a good idea. They know it’s going to fail, but they choose to do it anyway. 😂

Season 8 never had a chance to be satisfying due to how season 7 ending they need to change season 7 and 8

@@OrangeHand it’s not me telling people what they should watch it’s what God told us what not to do however I say its wrong cause it causes depression which can lead to ending things it is NOT good for people it’s extremely unhealthy for your mental state and that’s cause we are violating the law that was written in our hearts
