As a mum, we don‘t go out or order in. I cook. It is easy, healthy and cheaper in Germany. Every day. I make things fresh and healthy, I season with fresh herbs, salt and pepper. When my kid is full, he does not have to eat up, because what he ate made him full

tbh, we could discuss about "cheap" actually. Personally i live alone and i barely cook for myself, its, well depends more expensive and takes way mor eafford like cleaning up stuff, ja ich habe kein geschirrspüler. I still try to live as healthy as i can.

As a (graduated) chef for more than 30 years and interested in nutrition science for the same time, I only can say: Yes, and go ahead! I can understand that cooking for a single person may be difficult. But as a parent, its a must for several reasons, or otherwise a crime.

Walking and biking is not even considered as sport, when you don't do it at least as a day trip. Just go by bike to a shop or to work is just a daily activity here, which nobody would consider as sport.

it just blew my mind that only 49% of american households own a bicycle. This is just unbelievable to me as a german. especially when you put in account that the percentage of households owning a gun is around 45%. Guns are as common as bicycles Dude. Thats frightening!

I got to know an area in Upstate New York, just in the middle of nowhere. It's a place with a former farm house, where an acquaintence of mine lived and I visited him. You have to go there by car, bc there are no busses going there. You have two roads crossing by his house, they are like "Landstrasse" in Germany. These roads are used by truckers and their trucks. It would be pretty dangerous to go by bike on these streets. I used to take some walks there but you always have to watch out for the cars, bc ppl are not used there to see pedestrians walking at the side of these streets. You are not allowed to walk into some forests at the side of the streets, bc that are private properties and they can shoot you trespassing their properties. It's really not a country made for pedestrians or cyclers.

A good friend married a US soldier, she says the same thing, the food is better in Germany. I also know a lot of American products because my father works in a US barracks in Germany. You only have to compare German and American Pringels. In the American there is so much dye in it, the dye is banned in the EU because of the increased risk of cancer! or what is sold as cheese in America. This is pure chemistry.

20:24 "Nobody wants to walk..." but everybody can try to change this. I was like this for most of my life but around the age of 50 I decided that I want to live healthier. I started with short walks in the park which got longer and more frequent over a few months. A year later I switched to cycling because walking the same paths again and again became a little boring. Nowadays I try to walk and cycle as much as possible. E.g. instead of driving 5 minutes to the grocery shop I walk 15 minutes and so on. This works for me because I feel so much better, I sleep much better and my overall mood is much better. This wasn't my initial plan when I started going for short walks but this is what happened and I'm so glad it worked out that way. Long story short: just try to go for 2 30-minute walks per week and see what happens.

The plate sizes are NOT representative! I'm a European man and my plate size is the same, as the average size here, in american restaurants. Maybe, it's because I am an adult man, and not just the average human from all over europe. Please set the record straight!

When You will eat good and fresh food, slowly, with respect to the goods, with dignity and listening to Your body: You will realize, that there is no need for overconsuming. You will notice a satisfaction with more quality and less quantity, and that is only one of the reasons, why people will keep their weight or even loose weight. Another important reason is that many additives used in the US are forbidden in the EU. And even if some additives maybe allowed here, they are unwanted by the customers, and therefore the German food industry follows a "clean label" policy. Many of these additives are unessescary anyway, or the industry has found other (and better) production methods to avoid additives and to achievethe same, but more often even better results.

The sad part is actually that US cities were in the past beautiful walkable cities before politicians and car manufacturer destroyed schools, churches, homes to make more car lines and highways through cities. The car industry manipulated and brainwashed people in the USA with many excuses. its so sad. The cities were redesigned to force to people buy cars. beautiful walkable cities, small ones or big ones, were designed to sell people cars. my parents migrated to germany and here, all kids walk or go by bike to school and take care of each other while society, the strangers, co-parent and have a say how to raise your own child and in the end, the child who is going by itself to school, is safe. germany and france and netherlands are countries who also started in the past to destroy beautiful walkable cities and only after air pollution, traffic deads numbers climbed more and more, environmentalists, socialists, mother and fathers, fought for change of law. remember that germany is country of many different car inventors and engineers, like BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Opel, they produce cars in germany and sell it around the globe. German love good cars, but they value their safety, health, love their kids, love their freedome and nature. the compromise was, to implement walkable cities with grocery stores having limited parking space, walkable distance for kindergarden and elementary school, biking lanes and more safe public transit. The USA has zoning laws, that prevent walkable cities. its one of the biggest scams sold to the public in USA. Germanny has healthy fast food options, take a banana or apple, here you have a way to get food fast. but also, their bread have more fiber and less sugar and fills up without causing diabetes. i hardly know any family in germany who go out dining or order food, most people cook their food from scratch bc they value their health and get even veggies that grow in the season and not with artificial hormones and pesticides. I hope, that US citizens fix their country and have no excuses anymore. take the trains. china is very large and has highspeed and regional trains. japan is very small and has big hill and mountains and have highspeed and trains and its an earthquake area. germany is small and has highspeed trains or connecting cities trains. if germany would take over USA today, the first thing what they would fix is, build walkabe cities with biking lanes, reduce parking spots in megamalls and build regional trains for commuters. its not hard, its just USA has excuses and they are bad. Even tiny countries like Swiss have commuter friendly and shiftworker friendly cheap and excellent train ride offer. You should definetly do a reaction on Jason's channel NOT JUST BIKES on youtube, he migrated to Netherlands.
