If Rawlings was a Two time coup maker but he is the most liked president then Kotoka name must remain for us to tell our kids that Ghanaians, no matter what you do for them they will resist oppressors rule as in their national anthem even Nkrumah who gave them Independence .To let future dictators know their fate. If you don't know this is the reason why Rawlings gave us the fourth republic even do he had wanted to stay on. Lets rather build a Cathedral for Nkrumah and worship him there. Overall the airport was built by the British army not Nkrumah.
Lt Gen EK Kotoka nobody can change the name.Kotoka set Ghanains free from grip of nkrumah If not Kotoka Ghana is still living under the iron curtin.Nkrumah killed all of our founding fathers of our Independence less Paa Willie. The most dangerous criminal from Liberia(listern to speach Independence speach by Nkrumah).Nkrumah founded nsawamu detention camp to kill innocent Ghanaians who were suspects opposing nkrumah
@frankprempeh1182 I did not reference Kotoka, I'm responded to a comment that said " Mahama wants to name the airport after Nkrumah , and further said Mahama should leave Ashantis alone....." . I responded to that submission
I can see, you have left your sense of reasoning behind. If it wasn't for these assholes of this NLC, fo you know where would have reached in development. Sia boy
Why did Nkrumah opt for one party state? One party state was necessary due to regional and tribal parties, which had no national outlook, formed during the 1960's. Eg NLM (Asante & Akyem) Muslim Association Party, Togoland Congress and the Northern Peoples Party. As a newly acquired independent country what we needed was unity to start our lives not dirty politics. We should have all come under one umbrella and pursue a common goal. Dirty politics has not done as any good. Eg. Between NPP & NDC
@@nanakollynxTvStraight to the point. Those who sieve information and only learn the misleading part of history still don't see the harm the likes Kotoka, Ankrah, Afrifa, Busia and the rest caused this country. For them to even deny publicly about the involvement of the CIA proved that they were a group of dishonest and unpatriotic soldiers who were only looking for a way to fill their bellies.
The idea of a one-party state with a life presidency was not intended to create a tyrant; traditionally, we were accustomed to lifetime chiefs who were not necessarily tyrants. Ivory Coast was a one-party state with a life president, Félix Houphouët-Boigny. Why? A multi-party government was to be established at the OAU (now the AU) to thwart coup attempts against African leaders, as seen in Zaire (now Congo) with Patrice Lumumba and on Nkrumah’s life. However, the unity governance with multiparty democracy envisioned by Nkrumah at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, aimed for Africa's economic independence. This system of unity government was emulated by the EU, which now lends money to Africa, a continent abundant in resources. If realised, it could have made Africa more economically independent and richer than China today. In fact, Nkrumah’s government and his vision for Africa were, and still are, much better than today's borrowed-to-succeed governments in Africa.
@@nanakollynxTv THE prevalence of half baked , out of context , false propaganda, in Ghana are landmines that easily, can be fixed by allowing the true history of Gh to be taught in our classrooms. People are living their lives on fortified falsehood that have, overtime, become "truth".
