Those who don't like your talking can just use the non-talk materials you have on the site! It's impossible to make everyone happy, Brian - I think you're doing a fantastic job talking everything through and breaking it all down to the entry level. Don't change anything, you are THE BEST and this is an awesome lesson, as always! ♪🎸💕
The reason I pay $ for your lessons, is in your delivery. I appreciate your explanations. You have brought me a long way on understanding this instrument and theory. Don't listen to those people....AND please don't change how you teach. I'd say those complaining would never open their wallets for a lesson anyway. Keep up the good work. Thank you, Brian!
YOU 100% DO NOT TALK TOO MUCH!! Ignore that feedback. Your explanations are one of the most helpful components. The short attention span crew is always in a rush. Please let them rush on past.
Another brilliant lesson. Don’t change a thing. If people don’t like the talking they can become a premium member and go right to the full song in the tab viewer. Such a great teacher, amazing FREE lessons and so many helpful resources provided to your paying members. Keep it up!
I completely agree, your explanations have been very helpful to me, and small insights into your musical journey from time to time don’t do any harm either. Building up a channel is a bit like building up a community of viewers, I reckon more people like this ‘rambling’ than those who don’t like it, it encourages viewer involvement, so I say carry on and thanks for the good work.
As a premium member I can say I've probably picked up more from your explanations of what's going on than the actual exercises. I think you have a prefect balance in your teaching style so keep talking!
I really cannot imagine why anyone would think that you ramble on too much, Brian. Do not get disheartened by those bigots as you are such an excellent teacher. Keep up the good work. I have benefited from your free lessons for a while now. When I consider all the time and effort you put into producing these lessons, not to mention the cost of the equipment. I think we should all seriously consider subscribing to your channel, if we can afford it.
Brian, I haven‘t found a better guitar instructor on YT so far and that’s why I am a member. Don’t change anything, we need your detailed explanations to understand what‘s behind it all. Thanks for your work!
Don’t change a thing, Brian. You’re by far the best online teacher out there. The time-stamp is a great idea for anyone who wants to skip but personally I love your explanations of how and why things work. Please keep it up!
Brian, it’s YOU: You are the reason why your lessons are tops. You are an incredible teacher, a great presenter, and an approachable person. I am happy to be a premium member on ActiveMelody, and I truly enjoy watching your videos here, too. The context and background you provide are essential to your lessons and I am so glad you include the explanations you do. As others have said, please don’t change a thing. You are fantastic!
DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING about your lesson presentations. Anytime you're talking you're adding a very comforting human element to the presentation and, whether people realize it or not, you're adding additional information in one segment that might not have been clearly or fully explained in a previous segment. Your friendly, laid back personality is one of the big reasons (aside from the valuable information) I continue to follow you here on youtube.
I wouldn't trip on the people complaining that you talk to much. You have to talk to be sure they're getting what you're putting down, I watch all of your videos and you don't bother me talking. Keep up the good teaching. I've watched your videos over and over again to be sure I'm getting it. Thx for sharing your knowledge with us....🤙🎸🎸
Those of us who want to know “the WHY” of guitar playing rather than simply “the WHAT” to do really appreciate your discussions. Keep up the good work Brian.
Brian, as a paid active melody member for over a year now, please don't change the way you teach, which requires "talking" the way you do. Your ability to provide real, usable, knowledge to the intermediate player that actually does want to know the theory behind the music, is the reason why yours is the only online guitar instruction I do pay $$ for. Let everyone else target the lowest common denominator. There is a need for that, but it is sufficiently provided for. Instructors like you are needed for players who are beyond the beginner phase. Thank you!
Don't let any criticism get you down. You are a fantastic teacher. Your commentary is gold. Very valuable context and explanations of relevant concepts. Don't change a thing. Thanks.
I just found this, just this morning and I couldn't help but laugh. The reason is that, a little over a year ago, I was one of these impatient people, and I do want to apologize for that. Where I was then, is a lot different from where I'm at today, because I've learned that in order to play well, *is to be patient, and mind visualization in how things fit together are very important. Your talks, are made up of this type of stuff, in how to visualize what it is, so we can lay down what it is, we are to learn. So, thank you for your patience and understanding of young minds searching for the very thing we need in our life, and that is playing music. Thanks again… 👍
BTW, you do not ramble on about things. Your lessons are always fantastic and your background explanations make them even better! Much appreciated always✌️
Need the explanations. Do not change a thing in the way you teach guitar! You are an excellent instructor! You have taught me more guitar and more WHY! than anyone that I have ever taken lessons from. Looking forward to becoming a Premium Member. Thank you so much!
Hey Brian, Do not change the way you teach! In 58 years of playing guitar I have not found a better teacher. Keep up the awesome work. I have learned so much from you. Talk as much as you feel necessary!
Brian - Don't listen to the people who complain about your delivery. In addition to knowing HOW to play something, we need to know WHY it works so we can use it other situations. Your channel is one of the best music instruction channels on RU-vid. I'm a Premium member because I value what you do and how you do it. Keep up the great work !
I personally love your explaining everything, but, the time stamp is a good idea for when I come back to the video again and just want to get to the nitty gritty. :) Thanks Brian
Talk on my friend. I think I talk for the majority of people who follow you when I say I enjoy listening to what you have to say. It is relevant and interesting.
Brian, don't change a thing. I'm 71 and have been playing since age 12, so I know guitar and players. You are brilliant. You're the only teacher that I spend my money on, on a monthly basis. Your timing and intonation are spot on, your explanations are insightful, and even as an advanced player I am learning new ideas from you. Please, don't doubt your wonderful teaching style. Thank you.
Hi Brian in my opinion you are the best teacher of this type of lesson there’s always someone who can naturally grasp and learn at lightning speed but for the most of us you’re so called ramblings are just what we need I suggest you don’t change a thing however good move to include time stamps for the gifted.
I rather enjoy your company, as ethereal as it is. I just became a premium member & it's worth every penny. Your talking and explaining are one of the reasons I chose your instructional format. Don't give the talking any thought just continue to put out the goods. I would recommend anyone who doesn't like the chatter to pay for the services offered. You can loop any part over & over & skip past the human interaction if you wish. I look forward to exploring the lessons to come. Thanks for your passion and interest in teaching!!!
I definitely don’t think you talk to much. I find your insights really helpful. But, alas, you can’t please everyone. I think your an amazing instructor. I’m glad I became a member on your site. Very helpful😊
I agree with so many of your subscribers. I can grab tab anywhere. I really enjoy and benefit from hearing your explanations. My bet is that a lot of the people who are complaining don’t pay anything for your lessons. As a subscriber, I enjoy your descriptions. Keep ‘em coming!
Brian, you're cool as shit. Don't sweat negativity. You have been consistently pushing me over plateaus since I began watching you. Thank you so much for your wealth of information. You deliver that info just fine.
Brian. Your detailed explanations are what’s needed for the vast majority of people to understand the theory behind the piece of music you’re playing. You are an excellent teacher Brian, continue talking. Half a million subscribers says you’re teaching the right way.
Nobody else takes the time to break this stuff down as comprehensively as Brian does for intermediate guitar players. This is why, after a few years on taking online lessons, Active Melody is my go to blues guitar lesson website. I think that maybe the people that thinks he talks to much are a little more advanced, and want to "cut to the chase" so to speak.
When I started watching your tutorials I didn’t want to pause to listen to your shared knowledge . I wanted to get to the lesson to learn how to play . But now that I’m learning and it’s all making sense I now enjoy what you have to offer in your comments . Don’t Stop, some of us eventually come around.
Brian, you don´t talk too much, because what you say it is interesting and informative; and your anecdotes are entretaining , casual and they feel like a natural flow in the conversation, which, I personaly appreciate since it feels like we are sitting in your living room with you having the lesson. It is true that sometimes you talk about things that are more elemental (Mr. Sherlock) and that may feel like too much talking for some people that have more advance guitar knowledge; but that is ok, since you are reaching people of all levels in your lessons; and I think you are aware of it and try to teach a bit for all levels. By the way, I like your guitar buying stories.. Thank you, keep having fun.
I been following you for years Brian I like the talk at the beginning honestly you put lots of effort to making these lessons clear and concise for everyone, it's good to discuss the lesson at the start, as a viewer you get a lay of land helps you further in the lesson, but there is always that few that will gripe bitch and moan nothing will be perfect for them , you keep me and others playing , and trying to be creative, keep what you have been doing for years Brian don't break something if it ain't broken they say, cheers !!
I love to hear you talk, dissecting what's being done is how we learn; I could listen to you talk all day which is why I'm a premium member now for three years now. I did notice the weekly lesson comes out on RU-vid before it's posted on the Active Melody site, so I always check here first. As a widower I spend a lot of time playing, it keeps me out of trouble...lol. Thank you so much!
brian I love your lessons and in my opinion you are one of the best for explaining things i love your teaching and you do NOT TALK TOO MUCH great stuff your lessons has help me a lot.
It took a bit but I learned to play guitar properly, with ACTIVE MELODY. I encourage everyone that would like to learn to play guitar and know what is going on, to use these lessons. it will take effort and there will be talking, that's how people pass information on to others.
the sole reason im here is for your DELIVERY YOUR TEC-NEK The guitar is a very complacated instroment i have strugled with all my life... You Brian YOU AND YOUR Delevery System of this lesson has takin me a long way so you just keep on rambling if thats want they call it !!... becouse of you i can make up stuf make my own style ..dont chang a thing.. i want to understand wair it's comming from it makes a hole lot of scene ... thank you again
I learned the pentatonic scale and I love it. People don’t realize how it’s used on not only blues but rock, pop, funk etc. I literally just found you. I was just dusting off my triads since I tend to avoid them for some reason. Anyway, great reason. I found one of ur videos from two yrs ago. Nice to see you’re still here with half a million subs. No you do not talk to much.
Brian, don’t change your style, your method, whatever you want to call it. It’s outstanding. Been playing for a year (at 65) and just bought my first electric guitar. What a fun journey. Thanks for everything. 🎸
Love your talking, your explanation, rever redundant. A big plus of your lessons. I really appreciate that and it really helps me in learning english as well. Two pigeons with one stone :). Keep on like this!
Brian, the WHOLE point is to understand why a certain note is played at a certain time not simply how to play it! That means the rambling is indispensable :-)
Man have you gotten better since I first watched you. That's saying something. Your opening piece was incredibly tasty. Thanks for the lessons over the years.
