This is one of the first questions i think so many of us ask, but then ignore. Let’s revisit. Also, I simply do not care to argue the LOTR example, lol. I am fine with being proved incorrect on that, it was a quick thought to kick the video off. Note to self, do not get into the LOTR apologetics game.

It’s like asking why Batman hasn’t destroyed the joker. The answer is that neither Batman nor the joker actually exist. They are characters that live only in our imaginations.
Which is a great illustration for why Batman having a no kill rule is actually a moral failing on his part and why Batman not only fails to make Gotham a better place, he's actively making it worse.
Like if you read that Bible again it said that God was the one who's lying about the fruit he was the one who said that the fruit will kill you if you eat it the only thing you can do is just told them the simple truth doesn't it make you think that Satan is in the right and God is in the wrong for lying and I would recommend looking at it from a logical standpoint not an emotional one and Satan doesn't even kill a lot of people compared to God God is catching way more bodies when things never goes his ways or him being too angry with his creations to even solve the problem that doesn't involve killing them

Putting someone you love through constant testing is proof of the highest level of insecurity. In fact this is what narcissists do all the time. Great job Brandon!
It was created to condition humanity to be passive towards narcissism and authority in the form of psychopaths, sociopaths, etc. Every aspect of the bible is based in narcissism. That's why political entities love it. The divine right of kings is now the divine right of politicians. Jesus called Satan the father of the Jews in one of the four myths the Christians kept together… of course he is saying Satan is their reverse-adoptive father since they love accusing people, but still does Yahweh adopt the Jews and then the pagans?
Evil is product of free will, so the only way to prevent it is to avoid creation of beings with free will. Let's make some thought experiment. If God is evil and you are creation of evil then aren't you evil as well? But let's assume you're good and you're capable to recognize good. Why evil God would create good beings and wouldn't it contradit its evil nature to create good beings? In the same way as you're trying to frame idea that existence of evil implies evil God, you can argue about opposite - if you consider yourself good and capable to recognize and morally judge reality then that would mean God created good in form of your own person which would be contradictory with supposed evil nature.
My dad once said, “I am not a perfect man, but I can go to sleep knowing I haven’t done anything wrong or hurt anyone, and that I try to help others the best I can. How can I go to Hell when there are people who do nothing but evil, and yet I’m on their level because I don’t worship a god?” And that’s when I realized something, if God is real, he is not all loving. He’s just a narcissist.
Interesting point! Maybe this can be a new "thought experiment" - can god make a plot hole so big that his apologist minions can't excuse it away with a straight face? 🤔
Why exactly does god need to build character at all? What will we need this character for in heaven? What trials and tribulations will we encounter in heaven that will necessitate a character like this? Oh wait, NONE WHATSOEVER. Hmm...
I would have just made an obstacle course and everybody would have to run it under a certain time to get to heaven. You might get some sore muscles or bumps and bruises, but that's it.
@@tan_x_dx Good point! According to the Bible, the residents of heaven AKA "believers" will be doing ONE THING and one thing only - praising God. Yep, praising God 24/7 for all eternity. If so, I'm not condoning Satan staging a revolt and getting himself & his buddies kicked out of heaven - but I can UNDERSTAND why he did it. 😏 Just saying!

The law supposes that all people are equal to it, so you and me, we both have the same right to exist. You cannot kill me and I cannot kill you unless one of us tried to break this law beforehand (self defense). God implies that people are different. There are the elected and the rest. The first are created to be saved and God loves them. The latter doesn't matter and if anything don't happen before, are going to be thrown onto a lake of fire. The can be saved by the Grace of God, but they are worthless because they are not elected. So no, it's only a matter of different assumptions. To God, the people that He "mistreated" are nothing more than a mosquito or a rat is to the law.
I've used a similar analogy with relationships...If you continue to call/text your wife (that you never met and were married to in an informal raising of your hand ceremony) and she never called/texted back, just left instructions to seek her within the pages of a book, you might have the feeling that she's not really there at all. The church catfishes people.
It's even worse than that. Those instructions were given to you by someone else claiming that your "wife" left them. However, you have no way to verify this and are asked to just "have faith" that she left this and is waiting for you to find her, despite her being fully capable of finding you wherever you are at any given moment.
Satan, is the scorpion (Heat/Male/Fertility). He leads the winter signs in Rev. 9.5. Satan is the constellation Scorpio, throughout the buybull. One of his many names is, Beelzebub (lord of the flies). "They called Jesus, BEELZEBUB.
It's actually quite simple. Christianity needs the devil. If there is no devil then there is no sin. If there is no sin there is no need for a savior. If there is no need for a savior there is no need for God. Christianity falls apart if there is no devil

He responded, "Yes, He does but not the devil!" Another time I was puzzled was when my very Catholic grandmother tried to explain to me and my brother the concept of free will. She showed us a picture of a boy bullying another boy and I asked her why God did not stop it. She said that the bully had free will and could do whatever he wanted. I found this confusing because if he did that, at the end of his life God would toss him in hell to be punished which did not sound all that free to me.
I'm not religious, but you're misunderstand Christian free will. You have "free will" to not pay taxes. The government can throw you in prison for it. Free will doesn't mean that everything you do leads to something good. Only that it's your choice to do good or evil.
As a first born child with a beautiful first of the litter, dachshund, I was freaked out by god killing the first born Egyptian children and animals (and maybe forgetful Jews who didn't put blood on their doors). Like, god hardened Pharaoh's heart, then drowned the army...couldn't god just have killed the Egyptian army instead ?? Free will doesn't mean that everything you do leads to something good. Only that it's your choice to do good or evil." But the point is valid in that God isn't like the government. It just needs to be expressed differently to make the point. The government would not 'let' you NOT pay your taxes if they knew you were doing it and were all powerful/all knowing and had access people's money like God is able to access the tools with which you abuse others. The only reason the govt aren't stopping everyone is they don't have infinite resources and all knowledge. If they did, they would automatically ensure all that you owed in taxes comes out of your income...magically finding its way into the treasury coffers. No one would ever need to fill out forms or write checks/transfer money if the govt was like God. Having free will has nothing to do with us being allowed/capable to abuse others...abuse ALWAYS makes use of some implement/physical entity or process. Disabling that implement or process would not in any way infringe on someone's free will.
@@ChainsawChristmas Doesn't much of the story of the Bible hinge on the 'government' hiding itself, from the moment Eve made one predictable, inevitable misjudgement, however? The "God's Sovereignty" part makes me think about how much Christians lack respect when an Atheist/Agnostic says: "I don't know what made us. Some things can't be known." They'll say "Oh, you don't know what made us? How can you say it isn't God then?" But at the same time, they find comfort in saying "I don't know why God allowed these bad things to happen. Some things can't be known. But you should still respect my answer."

Make up your own god! I mean why not - every god is made up by humans anyway. You certainly couldn't do any worse than the Abrahamic god, so go for it! 👍
I've been raised in a family of Jehovah's Witnesses, and you wouldn't believe what their answer is... As soon as I've developed even an elementary level thinking skills I began seeing such immense problems with their answers that I couldn't believe this anymore. Their main answer is: "If god, Jehovah, would have destroyed or stopped Satan, then the angels in heaven and people on Earth might have gotten suspicious of God, or started to doubt his qualities and position as truly the best possible ruler, in other words, maybe Satan had a chance to be better than god himself. Another variation is when they say that in the garden of eden Satan made an accusation against god (in front of the other angels and people) and tried to challenge his position as the ruler, by otherwise childishly saying "I would be better than you"... And so god, wanting to prove his point, that his is the best ruler possible, allowed Satan to become "the god of this world" to somehow prove to everyone that this particular angel is definitely worse than god, by putting the whole planet in a state of constant, excruciating suffering for every single being which has a nervous system, and, as an additional bonus, also corrupting the planet and the entire universe." This is already such a bogus idea that my mind just blows up, but this "answer" still isn't finished: "By the end of Satan's !first! rule he would be imprisoned and there would be Armageddon on Earth, a period of god's judgment, where he would kill every single person who wasn't doing what he wanted and specifically wasn't a Jehovah's Witness, after this global genocide #2, most people will live happily for a thousand years on the paradise Earth, after which Satan would be released for the final time, his second rule. why? You might ask, what the hell??? The answer is easy: to somehow finish the filtering process of people, who will definitely somehow become evil again and then god will destroy Satan, his demons and those people... And after all of this BS of a plan, specifically JWs promise that everything will be perfect from that point on, no more people or angels who would ever disobey god or challenge or doubt his character or qualities, because we would all have perfect memory of and experience with Satan's "system of things" ... Unfortunately, people are still being brainwashed by this and similar to it nonsense. And, fortunately, we have such honest, kind, determinant and passionate rational thinkers and activists like you, whose help is very precious and more often than not, even life changing and saving to many, thank you!
I mean he doesn't even have to kill Satan, he could just exile him, strip him of his divine powers, or make it impossible to interact with physical reality. It's always weird to me how people make their all powerful god so impotent.
I read stories like yours and think, wow I was so fortunate. I was taught all the horror and contradictions in the bible the first time I was in and, kicked out of sunday school just for saying God was evil for what he did to Lot. I was then taught astrotheology as a teenager. I don't think I could have ever seen any issue at all if I'd had an upbringing like yours.
So they're saying their god is incapable of just creating a paradise with no evil outright? Why should one then believe this ridiculous contraption of a plan would do that?

@@Llortnerof Of course now, we all try to think more critically, logically and rationally about everything, and so we, ex-religious people, considered and thought-through a lot of possible and logical ways of dealing with this specific "problem" and others from the standpoint of god, which helps us understand that this is just a primitive, man-made, stupid story with not just a few holes in its logic or reasoning but which is made out of holes entirely, one big hole. Unfortunately, since such cults as JWs demand informational isolation (creating an airtight echo chamber), from the evil outside of the organization and its teachings, absolutely all critical thought, outside information, opinions of those who left, apostates, deviance in thinking is prohibited outright with a constant reminder of retaliation from the organization, such as shunning, when you do something wrong, according to them, and isn't repentant the way they want, your entire family, all the people whom you know, who are JWs, which often are the only people you have any connections with at this point, have to stop associating with you, or, as they say, consider you as though you were dead... What I find so strange is that lucifer was able to sin in heaven< God created this angel with the ability to rebel, So God must have wanted this cause he allowed it! Imagine if Hitler mum had seen the future of what her son would do, you think she still would have had him?
She probably would have had him, but then tried to raise him differently so he didn't grow up to be a monster. Which is kind of the point. If God is omniscient and omnipotent, he had the power to change what Satan would become, knew how to do it, and literally could not fall to do so if he desired it. So if Satan and God are real, and have the properties Christians claim they do, then by logical necessity God chose for Satan to do what he did by virtue of not preventing it in the first place.

@@VVooshbait it’s important to know why you feel this way. Christians are led to believe in the idea of objective purpose, that being the principle that the only meaning in life is a god given one. In reality however, atheists are not without purpose because they hold a subjective purpose with what they like, their loved ones and even their community. We don’t need the promise of eternal life because we find value elsewhere with the ones we choose for to be with
@@VVooshbait Although I think the potentiality of an empty abyss waiting for us (as commonly accepted or proposed by atheists) may seem dismal, it is not as cold or impersonal as you may think. And because I’ve had to reason with that existential dilemma, I feel better equipped and more at peace with my eventual death. Although I still get existential anxiety, I feel that I greatly benefited from the “existential punch on the chin”. Given the evidence I’ve been presented, I cannot believe in the Abrahamic God. Not can I force myself to believe, let alone for the sole purpose of coping with my own death- that’s no longer belief. Not to mention, eternity sounds terrible. Perhaps it’s just me, but my “soul” is far more equipped for the peace of nonexistence than it is for an eternity of mindless subservience to God. If heaven is perfect, and everyone in it perfect as well, then I am no longer me. I am the culmination of my imperfections and missteps just as much as the things I have right, so if I am made perfect and inerrant, I’m no longer me. If heaven is perfect, and without mourning, I would not be able to mourn an eternity without my brother, nor would I be able to enjoy it. Therefore, if in heaven there is no suffering or mourning, and I cannot mourn the loss of my brother, then I’m no longer me. You see what I’m getting at? Not to mention, as my original comment implied, I cannot fathom an eternity with a God who is petty and vengeful, an egotistical genocider, whose foundation for salvation is irrational and transactional. I am not weak minded enough to believe in such a limited God. Finally, if your primary motivation for belief is to cope with this reality, and give into our most primal urge by convincing yourself you can avoid our ultimate death, then do you truly believe? Dear Brandon, you say soo many important things here - (I would like to comment on almost every sentence you say 😅) I spent 30 years being a Christian, and 10 years in a Christian High Control Group... Their excuse for Satan still be around deceiving people was always, that God is so patient! They said, every nation is drunk from the wine of adultery (Rev) and has fallen from God and became spiritual Babylon. Now, God wants to establish the 144,000 Kings and Priests and God wants to call out all the good believers out of this spiritual Babylon to save them. And they say, it is only because of God's patience and mercy, because he doesn't want to leave one good believer in Babylon, but wants to call them all out to be saved. 🫣🤦 I believed this once... You clearly show how wrong this stupid concept actually is. Thank you so much! The question of this video was a question I had for yeeeears. And your video was very interesting and informative to watch!
Always a thought that boggled the mind: God is supposedly omniscient, meaning he would know that giving Satan free will would lead to him trying to overthrow him, yet does it anyway and then acts surprised he was betrayed? Just I am always annoyed by the "God gave blah, blah, blah free will because he didn’t want robotic worshipers" when that is BS. If God really has a pre-thought out plan for you, you do not have agency because, clearly, you're going off a script. Even beyond that, if God can only do good and not deviate, why wouldn’t it be argued that he's a robot, and yet, apologists insist he's a free agent. Not even getting to how God just sounds self-destructive. Besides creating Satan, he creates Adam and Eve only for the fall of man to happen, then he's like, "Oh no, I created a world where mankind had become wicked." So he drowns the world save one family, but surely a perfect, all-knowing god would know that evil was not vanquished. So then he makes himself human, sacrificing himself to himself to serve as a loophole for laws he set up from the beginning of time.
I still don't know how anyone can be 'bad' if it's all part of the plan, that means Dahmer and Pol Pot and everyone else was just playing their role for the plot. If it's (his) script, then why he mad?
I have an issue with an all-powerful, omniscient, omnipresent deity that knows how everyone's life is going to play out (determined) being able to insert his will into the life of someone with "freewill" upon throwing out an arbitrary prayer and somehow change the outcome. That doesn't work.
Ya, its all so absurd. Thats like me building a car and then getting mad at it and destroy it because it doesn't fly. I would be a jackazz for that. But its holy when God does it. Really, 2nd grade logic destroys Christianity.
I like the thumbnail. An image that shows God loves the devil and doesn't want to let him go. Seems bitter sweet and beautiful. If only God could just love everyone for who they are instead of what he wants to make them. Love your partner for who they are, not what you can change them into.
The annoying thing about theists is that they use actions to conclude if a person is good or bad but when it comes to their god, it is good by default / the starting point. But this is incredibly dangerous because then there is no command their god could give for them to conclude the god is immoral.

Also the good or bad isn't based on actions for Christians, it's simply if you believe in God. Also your actions won't matter if your beliefs in God could also be backed with confidence and you protrude some knowledgability and leadership. That's how you can use Christianity to convince thoughless suseptible followers to follow evil people. But you can be good person who donates to charity and helps helpless people, but tell people that the religion is fictional, then you're outcast from your community, friends, and family, until you're bullied back into just saying you believe. Then you'll be made an example of, about how the devil got their hands on you, but God's love saved you. 😂 Its definitely not your actions, just if you say you believe.
Which is why I hate it when people do horrific things and try to justify it by saying, "Because God told me to." as if that's somehow the Ultimate Get Out of Jail Free Card.
That's a question believers should seriously think about = Why do you expect more from us mere Humans, than you do from the claimed Omnipotent, claimed Omniscient, and most importantly claimed Omnibenevolent "god"!!???? If there truly were a being that had all those "Omni's", there would be ZERO suffering!!
That is a question brought up in Faith Hunter's Rogue Mage novels... the answer was "Humans have the ability to create"... ergo they need to be held to a higher standard than the Mighty Host of God who are so, so limited.
It doesn't really matter what the answer is. For zero suffering God would have to just erase creation atp. And then yall would say "Well God is a narcissist because he doesn't want to create free beings who are going to sin againts him! He doesn't want people to disrespect him!" Yes I am strawmanning, don't bother spamming
"I (the Sun) form the light and create darkness; I make peace (summer), and create evil (winter). I, the Lord (Sun) do all these things" (v. 7). Having first created peace (summer) and lastly evil (winter), the Lord sends down rain, for with winter the rainy season begins, from the skies that the seed just sown may germinate and produce a crop, and through it, salvation (v. 8). @@harveywabbit9541 once again you've made the ridiculous into something tangible, thank you Mr. Wabbit, without the Astrotheology it makes very little sense. 👍
Another interesting thing in that book is how Satan walked with God, considering how many people insist that Satan was the Serpent character in the fable of Eden.
I still can't get over that the Bible teaches that if all your children die, it's okay as long as you have more children afterwards. I can't believe that, even then, people wouldn't recognize that as horrific. What kind of parents did people used to be?
The worst part of all of this to me is Original Sin I didn't ask to be here, no one does...but because an all knowing god decided I should be here knowing I would become an atheist, would say "Well, go to hell" and burn for eternity, that is not a good or just god And to loose an enemy on us that causes all this madness, and to just put him away "So he can be glorified" is not such a god I would ever be seen magnifying
That is the post-hoc rationalization people have come up with, yeah. In reality, Tolkien was probably sick of writing by then and wanted them to fast-travel back so he could end the damn story, and he couldn't _A Wizard Did It_ his way out because he already had wizards running around and they couldn't teleport. "Ah crap I made the trip so tough they're out of food and deep behind enemy lines. Do I kill them off? or... nah fuck it BIRD SAVE" They did the same thing in the movie when the human army is surrounded and all the orcs just fall into a pit by magic. What's his face didn't want a four-hour CGI war scene where the humans somehow won. "Lazy writing" explains like 90% of the bible.
Exactly! It is not a plot hole. You can't just fly to Mount Doom when Sauron is still in charge. Take a look at the map of middle earth. Mordor is a natural fortress.
@@BladeValant546 It's a _story._ It's a story some guy made up. Of COURSE it's ad hoc. That's what stories *_are._* And Samwise didn't start serving Sauron when he carried Frodo, there's no reason to think the damn deus ex birdina would've been if they'd carried the ringbearer to Plot Device Mountain. Your post hoc rationalization aside, the simple fact is it's a story and it's cooler if there's an actual story to tell in the story instead of "oh no there's a problem WELP we fixed it the end" Which is the entire point here. The bible is crammed full of these kinds of needlessly crammed-in extra steps. If God really _was_ "God" and could do god-like things, then the story wouldn't even _get_ as far as "oh no there's a problem". God wouldn't need to have Jesus-birds fly the salvation-ring to Mount Spinoff Cult, he wouldn't even need to teleport the damn ring there instantly, he coulda just not made the damn ring necessary in the first place. But "God made the universe and it's perfect, the end" makes for a really shitty cult. So you get authors forgetting that they have giant sentient birds that could've been convinced to go to war since they were on the hit list too and they could've just done a fly-by and dropped Frodo and the ring both in the damn mountain and be done with it. What, like sending nine people _on foot_ to march through the entire enemy territory (which, as pointed out, is a natural fortress, also an ad hoc made-up story detail) was a better idea than putting one guy on a bird army and hoping the carrier gets through while his buddies distract the very limited air force? And again, this is all an analogy for Jesus needing to be sacrificed to himself by himself to forgive other people of a sin their distant ancestors allegedly committed according to God's plan that they commit it so God could punish them but actually forgive them from their punishment because _um uh um look don't ask questions and pay your tithe you think I'm gonna do actual work like you filthy peasants_ Tolkien didn't fly the ring over to Mount Doom because that wouldn't even be a story, just like God is so freaking incompetent in the bible because it's a _fairytale._
The biggest mindfuck is the idea that god is the moral grounding of humanity, but that he is somehow also not subject to the human moral standards supposedly originated from him.
I see this in Asian anime. No matter how nasty, tricksters are not held responsible for their actions--because they are 'teaching'. Without fail, the victim thanks the trickster in the end as the victim realizes they have learned and grown as people. No repercussions for the trickster, ever. People embedded in the culture lecture me that mean tricks aren't mean if it was a lesson. I think the problem is anthropomorphism. When a spiritual entity behaves exactly like a human, I judge them as a person. Yahweh of the Bible and Jesus acted like people, not invisible unknowable forces, so I judge them.
@@Toviyah1305For example he broke the sixth Commandment:" you shall not murder". Like your videos. To answer the Lotr question: the reason for not using the Eagles is subterfuge. If the Eagles were to act Sauron would have been aware of this as he is very aware of the movements of his enemies, elves dwarves and men. Sauron was made aware of the Ring resurfacing and in return of the King he even questions Pippin about the Ring through the Palantir. They had to use stealth, this is also why the Fellowship was small and not an army. So if the Eagles stared for Mordor he would notice and send the fellbeasts (flying Nazgul steeds) to attack them and the risk of him stopping them and gaining the Ring is too great. Could have been clearer in the movies, is made clear in the books. I know this is off topic, just wanted to counter the misconception about it being a plothole.
I wanted to say the same thing. The Eagles would have been killed and Souron would have gotten the ring. The Eagles only made it afterwards to pick up Sam and Frodo because Souron was dead 😂😂.
Late to the party, but as a Tolkien apologist, I'd argue that if the Ring was given to the Eagles whichever one had it would be corrupted. The Eagles are proud beings, and the Ring would use that pride.

I think the Christian God uses Satan to test and keep fit his Christian followers. It is like one of those corny country and western songs where the father wants the son to "grow up tough" and the son is expected to respect the father for it. The only answer by a Christian on this issue I respect was from an English Literature Teacher I had for A level called Mr Ronald. He was a Christian man when alive, very clever, very sensitive and kind and hugely well read in the classics of literature. When a boy quizzed him on the issue of why God didn't just destroy the Devil he said quite simply that he did not know the answer but his faith was based on many other factors which he was more than willing to discuss outside the English Literature class. Christians need to realise that for many pagans the simple answer "I don't know" to a religious problem "but I have faith because of the following" sounds much more dignified and worthy of respect than quickly mugging up some corny answer that very clearly falls far away from the mark.
I agree but Christianity would've died out if they didn't go with Paul's salesmanship. "This god has NO ads! This god gives you super powers! This god is going to give your soul a palace and magical servants! This god is going to torture everyone you don't like!"
From Satan's point of view, doesn't he know he will eventually be defeated? What keeps him going? It seems God and Satan are secretly in cahoots or is God deceiving Satan in some way? Could Satan freely choose to stop his deceptions of human souls?
This eagle question has been answered long ago. Mordor has both an air force of Nazgûl on winged fell beasts and Sauron has a magical eye that would see the eagles coming. It's only after both the Nazgûl and Sauron were neutralized that eagles could get to Mordor.
In addition to this correct assertion, the eagles are not immune to the corruption of the ring. Assuming it was handed over to an eagle, it is more than probable that the eagle would abscond with it like a giant, flying Smeagol.
I hate to say this, but I have to admit it, your delivery, the way you talk is the single most significant thing about how effective and irresistible your videos are. @@roderickcortez138 Right, because if someone is using the contrast theodicy, that to have bliss there needs to at least have temporally been it’s opposite, how would that work 50 million years into the future in heaven? Wouldn’t that memory of suffering at that distant of a point be so faded, so as to not even really provide a contrast anymore? Also, if one is always recollecting the suffering they had on earth, while in heaven (for contrast sake), wouldn’t that mean you are Re-living suffering (thus dampening the joy in a certain sense), which is supposed to not exist in heaven?

Well, seeing that he will have to live with them for the rest of his life-that just doesn't make sense.Even Job didn't have a lifetime trial. They could be thinking that any day now they will be all be raptured out of this world. If God were real, as you've pointed out so clearly in this video, he would indeed be evil, for allowing this to happen to my son's family-with no rescue or hope in sight.
Unfortunately, probably best to leave it be. This will be an INCREDIBLY touchy subject likely to result in them lashing out and being incredibly defensive. You should have read the books. Saron did not consider hobbits to be a threat. However the eagles were. He would have sent the nazgul to attack them and possibly regain the ring.
i have been waiting for this video. one of the things that kind of bugged me back when i was a christian was the fact that the literal embodiment of evil was able to speak directly to god in job, yet somehow we aren't able to do the same. it makes no sense the way christians like to spin it, you have god saying "oh humanity is evil and has fallen short of my commands, they cant see my face or they will surly dye. When Jonathan Harris was cast as Dr Zachary Smith in Lost in Space, he realized that as resident villain, he would travel with the Robinsons usually causing or aggravating the crisis in each episode. For narrative reasons, there couldn't be a new Dr Smith on each episode, but the stupidity of keeping a crew member on the ship who regularly threatened the survival of the family was absurd. Brandon your talks make light bulbs go off in my mind. For instance: How much sense does it make that a god would create a world, declare that it was good and then set free a destroyer to run amuck causing chaos, suffering etc? Kind of like building a house and then filling it with termites.
Nowhere in the entire Bible is Satan called or referred to as an angel.People assume that Isaiah 14 and Ezek.28 are referring to the fall of an angel called Lucifer. But in actuality, each chapter is describing the fall of a king in a hyperbolic and Hebrew symbolic way.One chapter is about the fall of the king of Tyre, while the other is about the the king of Babylon. The sons of God mentioned in Job are referring to human beings-not angels.I don't have time to develop that here, but suffice it to say that the book of Job is a fine example of Hebrew fiction story-telling that developed over time-like the story of Satan.
