WHY HAVE I BEEN AWAY FOR MONTHS? 

Lee, you’ve always been one of my favourite RU-vid golfing personalities since your first appearance eons ago. It was your good nature and sense of humour when playing socially with your friends that entertained me. Seeing you move back to that environment puts a smile on my face. After all, we watch a lot of these videos for the entertainment value, something of which you are a master at. Good for you, and good luck moving forward.

I really feel for you Lee. Life is not an easy thing sometimes. I know from experience that making your living at something is very different from enjoying it as a hobby. I've done it several times in my life and it usually ruins the love of the hobby. I can definitely see the pain in this for you. Hang in there and things will settle eventually.

Very honest Lee respect your decision which can’t have been easy but you have had a go at these very difficult things and you are right your family and peace of mind have to come first. As someone with a highish handicap I can understand falling out with golf it’s a game that teases you with some good fortune but often frustrates and disappoints. Stay safe and looking forward to seeing you get the fun back.

Lee I think you are class and have loved your content total respect for doing what’s right for your family i do think you have missed a trick you at times playing not so good was absolute gold and I was glued to it unlike all the boring prats hitting down the middle think about it honestly think you could play on this and mixed with your fantastic club review vids you could have a massive hit. Refresh and think about putting people on that are struggling make it slightly comedic with a progress and helping them get better. Different and could be class keep going mate all the best

No worries, Lee, I donated to your first year's PGA, and to be honest, I'm glad you didn't feel obliged to carry on with the course and get stuck doing something you really didn't want to do. It's a common thing that people who love golf want a job in golf until they get one, and then they have no time to play or too much pressure to perform when they do and lose the love for the game. The saddest phrase in life is, "If only" So respect for giving it a go, and also respect for admitting that it wasn't working out. Good luck for your future I hope that things work out and that you regain your love of Golf. Unfortunately, I had to become an ex-golfer earlier this year (for medical reasons) so I can empathise with some of your conflict and pain.

Hey Sailor, good job. We probably do need to hear how the kids are doing. The older girls are probably about what in the states would be High School and the little one would be headed for preschool. You made the right call Lee. Just like scratch players who believe they could make it on Tour there are countless RU-vidrs who are convinced their channel will make it big. The last statistic I saw was only 0.28% of channels ever hit 100k subscribers. Plodding along putting your family at risk could have cost you far more than just money. You're a good man, a good husband and a good father for the decision you've made.

All the best to you and whatever you decide. Family is always the most important. YT has even gotten stale for me as I've watched much for the past 4-5 years. I've always wanted channels to be more centered on the actual playing of the game. Reviews are ok but they ALL do it. Thoughts, ideas, concepts around shots. Evaluate the lies, how to play this shot, etc. PS, I've chased being good. Got as low as 2 hcp in the early 90s. Not good enough to make a living but fun. Was mid 20s age and life started happening. Work, career, family. Golf was a vacation then. 3-4 times a year. Only to get frustrated and shoot a mid 80s -90s score. Gave it up ten years or so. Had to get the passion again. It was in a dark time of life challenges and divorce it came to me. My peace was outside on the course. It cleared my mind by thinking about the game! Age has crept in now but at least I enjoy the game. Which is really what it's about. People, the fun, etc. God Bless and stay positive. Peace. Jon, From Iowa USA.

In a former life I obtained my pilots license with dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot. It cost me a fortune to get so far and then family, mortgages etc. got in the way and that career avenue had to be binned. Whatever happens in the future I’ll always have those memories and it’s a great answer to ‘tell us something about yourself we don’t know’ questions at meetings and parties!! Unfortunately sometimes, life just gets in the way. You’re definitely doing the right thing and with working 9-5 you’ll get back to valuing your time on the golf course again.
