I just ordered a set of Dyna Power irons, I have been playing Wilson Di7's since 2009 love them, up dated my driver and putter and decided to refresh the whole bag, every video I found seem to like them.🤞
Yes, the heads of the DynaPower forged are heavier. I've noticed this too. Perhaps if you dropped downed 8-10 grams in shaft weight, it would help you get the club through a little better?
Got to say fair play to you Lee, watched your videos for ages, from you working with guys, going pro and return to the world of ammature golf. Great honesty, and openness. Hope you get time for more videos as your content is good and relatable by club golfers. Good luck mate.
Hey Lee I know I am late to the party, but I have the G425 in the 3 thru 6 hybrids as I am a little older and dont like long irons. How would you compare these 425's to the newer hybrids, such as The ST max, Qi10 or AI Smokes?
Very insightful thank you. It's a hobby for me, love golf and did a creative subject at Uni. So combined the two. Be chuffed to just make a couple of quid 😂
I swapped my old faithful Ping G400 4 hybrid for the 4 hybrid version of this (it think its 22 degrees). I absolutely crushed it during my fitting, and i even preffered it to the Ping G430 hybrid i tried, i was consistently getting 210 yards carry out of it and decent high straight ball flight, and it fit nicely between my 5 iron and 5 fairway. however... since using it on the course i've struggled to find the sweetspot with it, obviously its me not the club, i know it can perform well for me, but i'm starting to lose faith in it... right now i'm getting 195/198 carry from it on average which is barely further than my 5 iron. I actually went for a 7 wood in my fitting and ended up with another hybrid somehow, beginning to think i got my pants pulled down...
Recently got fitted for the zx5 mk II’s and waiting on delivery. With an 82-85 mph swing with a 6 iron, they felt the most pure and soft. Expected to go with PXG again or possibly TM 790’s, but the srixons were more accurate and smooth.
I've just bought it. I'm a massive Wilson fan so can't wait to try it. I have the Dynapower irons and have gone from 22 to 16 handicap in the last 6 months
Just got fit into MMT as stock from Mizuno. More height spin and distance. I was playing elevate 95 in my current irons so this video is a great comparison
Picked my ZX4’s up 2 days ago and have been the range with them twice. 1st outing was a disaster but just back from my 2nd attempt and I absolutely love them. I’m playing McDonald Portal on Friday and I can’t wait to finally get a chance to test them on course and see what the V sole feels like. Your review was one of the massive influences in me testing them during my fitting and I’m delighted with them. Thank you for pointing me in their direction because honestly without content like this I’d have just gone with one of the big brands and by comparison they felt dead
How would you compare i230 vs zx5? Standard loft of zx5 stronger but the consistency and control the way you hitting i230 was amazing, is zx5 comparable? You have a preference? Thanks Lee
Thank you for mentioning EGO! Low handicappers talking about this club just isn't appealing to them is ludicrous! Low handicappers aren't the target market for clubs like this. If we have the opportunity for high handicappers to enjoy the game more and speed up play then we should encourage the use of clubs like this. Thanks for your honest review.
In my opinion, it's cool to save money and still get top quality products. For me, that makes Wilson, cool AF!!!! Plus, they are a great historic golf brand. Wilson Staff irons won a lot of professional golf tournaments. If I'm not mistaken, they still hold the record for most Major wins with 62. Glad to see them coming out with great products at "reasonable for golf" prices.
"Ego and I dont know if I can game these... the older generation" helps to keep HCPS exactly where they are year after year. For example would you NOT play a bag of hybrids if you can shoot 5 strokes better every round ? isn't the object of the game to shoot the lowest score ? High and straight is always better ! Unless you are a tour player consider putting at least 6 hybrids in your bag. Trackman doesnt lie!
I golfed pretty much every day as a kid over the summer holidays from 10-15. I took a bit of a break from golfing and picked it back up three years ago still using the 30 year old irons. I got the maverik irons last week 5-A and I cannot believe how far these irons hit. I flew almost every green with these but the shots were beautiful. Made me feel like a tour pro. If you purchase these clubs you need to go to the range with your old clubs and see what you’re hitting with these maveriks. I’d say it’s almost a safety concern with how far these suckers send the ball but once you know how far they’re going you’ll be able to pin hunt with these all day long
That's as steady as I've ever seen you. Maybe you should give the Eleven clubs a real go. Very enjoyable video. Looks like a great course to be a member.
Your kinda an iron snob why are you testing a game improvement iron if your never gonna play them. Why are basicly comparing these to a players iron what's the point?
I recently paid $100 in the wrapper. Played 9 holes twice over a few weeks. Then played 18 holes twice this past week…..22 out of 28 Fairways just like that.
The total spin wasn't greatly different but you could definitely argue that the consistency in every metric was tighter. Your average 15 handicap won't notice but your low singles might
I just bought this driver yesterday. I was at the PGA superstore trying out all Ping and TaylorMade drivers, among others and just did not like any of them all that well. Then this club was sitting to the side and just for fun picked it up. After I hit it a handful of times I chose it over all the others. I was totally sold. Awesome club. Great feel. Great sound. Great forgiveness. I just played a round and hit every fairway between 260 and 280 yds each drive. Like I said, awesome club. Chose it over all the other "cool" namebrands. Funny enough a month ago I bought a Wilson putter and love it. I have played golf for 25 years.
Picked up a minty mint set a few months ago after trying them out, and absolutely love them. Soft feel, look great, and sensible lofts for not a lot of money. One of the golf world’s best kept secrets.
I'm getting mine this week. I love your honesty Lee. Great page. I saw on another video you were going through a tough time for awhile, and I hope things are going better. The transparency sets you apart from many others, in a good way.
Never owned a hybrid. What makes more sense for a higher handicap play. 4 or 5 hybrid. I have standard graphite shaft. What shaft option on the hybrid makes sense?
I actually just bought the G430’s over the Calloway smokes and TaylorMade. I had an old set of TaylorMade R7’s custom fitted with 6grahm rifle shafts. They were old and I don’t swing the ball the same way. I bought the ping g430’s, pha super store dialed me in with graphite shafts…gained 15-10 yarfs a club. Stopping on the green is not an issue as I have and extremely high ball flight. That being said, I have not gained much in the longer irons. Short irons have been a huge improvement.
I have yet to find a driver that I hit farther than my i25. The sound is incredible as well. I do hit the new MAX in more fairways but it will never sound as good or sail as far.
