This is a awesome idea Mark I'm definitely going to be trying this I'll be getting a trx4 soon and I'll add the bl2s system when people ask about the system in the trx4 I'll say it was marks idea 😊
Nice just so happens one of the last hobby shops in my town is shuting down sucks. Got a bls system for 80bucks and now i know what am going to do with it now. Trying to get it to fit in my 1/16 revo think ill just do what somw od the guys on this video say to do with the plate and the double-sided sticky tape
Hey Mark. Good video but I'm not sure about the way you calibrated That speed control. if actually it's getting full throttle or not. If i'm not mistaken reverse speed as a little slower than full speed. I'm just not sure the way you Calibrated the radio by pushing reverse instead of forward and forward instead of reversed if that actually truly gave you full power.
You can get a Hobbywing max 10 g2 80amp combo for 130 bucks what are traxxas thinking with that price 😆 I guess it’s the classic traxxas thing of taking something and upping the price😂
Rip out BL2S, install drag slash esc and motor, lower it, drag tires, find an F150 body, and call it the F-1 Smoke'ems as a reference to Cletus and run it back.
He doesn’t mention the fact that, while it does have plenty of torque in the low-range, it isn’t going to have as much low-range control as a sensored brushless system, or even the stock brushed system.
Hi mark Can you answer this question with a video… why are the trx4 m sooo hard to find in retail shops around the world 🌍… I’m in Australia 🇦🇺 and it’s impossible to find them anywhere.. what’s the deal man…
I run a Castle that can do 4S @ 2280kV sensored... it'll flip the truck from a standstill. It's fun to hoon around on dirt with the scale looks. But I usually run it on 3S because 4S is just ridiculous.
@majesty2699 is right, you cant run 3s on the bl2s system however i did edit out a part of the original video where i said “I cant wait to see this on 3s”…. Hahaha
I did that to a Summit. I purchased it for my son- in - Law used. I changed the brushed over to brushless. I didn't use a Traxas motor and ESC for the same reason, reverse motor. It runs well. I did have to replace the rear transmission because it blew out. I found it full of sand from the previous owner. I will not be changing my TRX4 Bronco to brushless simply because it is a crawler and that is all I use it for.
I swapped my trx 4 with the brushed motors you’d find in the slashes. It went a lot faster but only lasts a half hour and motor is cooked! Brushless is the way to go.
I actually thought of doing this when my trx-4's esc went out but didn't do it because when I wanted to do it, Traxxas did not release it at the time. Now seeing this video I might just do it. It seems like a really good idea. It seems like a good idea because you don't have to worry about the brushed motor locking up.
I have a castle copperhead 10 setup with the castle 3200kv motor in my trx4 high trail. It’s fast but also a sensored setup so I can go extremely slow. Plus I can plug it in and change settings anytime I feel I need to right from my phone. I really can’t complain about it at all, it’s a great setup for crawling.
Does it still go from forward to brake when you push the trigger forward from fully squeezed. If so might use this combo in a Traxxas mid motor 2wd car
Thats freaking awesome! I think I'll stick with my Castle Creations setup for my true crawlers though. I love cramming "incompatible" electronics into my rig 😅 Just threw my Arrma Typhon 3s electronics into my Element Zuul trail truck to see what happens once my pinions arrive!
@@MarkSantaMaria it's definitely a decent trail set up. Truck looks hella fun 🤩 ! I just think the people should know that you may be giving up the crawling potential of the stock brushed motor. These rigs stock are super capable on the rocks, mud & creek bank. Thanks for the reply
Hopefully Traxxas will drop a brushless trx system off this video! Mark you can use that body as your basher body and get that sweet blue one for your shelf body 😁
Traxxas will do this and brand it as a new rc car. and bet it will be cheaper to buy the truck and the bl-2s and install it yourself then to buy it as one from traxxas
