They family has a problem with boundaries. The most unfortunate aspect of this is that they were unable to mirror or teach the meaning of proper boundary behavior and understanding to their children. I feel bad for their children in this respect. Further, I think this failing came about during their foray into a certain group, where the thinking is put forth that children are merely mini-adults. An example is having the young daughter present on Jada’s Red Table Show, where she discusses all manner of personal, private matters which should be held private from her child. Especially egregious was Jada’s discussion of her “entanglement”, during a Red Table segment, with her mother and young daughter present.

Will Smith should've been removed regardless what Chris Rock said or did afterwards. I hope he has to return his Oscar. In my view that man is a danger to people around him. Rock didn't/couldn't retaliate, because 1. he's smaller 2. he thought Will was his friend 3. he's an older man 4. he was doing his job 5. he is less powerful than Smith... Chris did not placate Jada and will and hosted the Oscars despite Jada insistence, to his credit. Fast forward 2022 when the Oscar production is all about diversity and Will Smith is nominated and he slaps the host, Chris Rock for slighting Jada with a joke.
I never understood how Jada could defend that picture of her daughter. I would've been like "Yes, it was innappropriate for my under aged daughter to be in an adult male's room, lying on his bed while he was there shirtless. It doesn't matter that nothing sexual or romantic was happening. You just don't allow your under aged daughter to be in that scenario. I can almost hear my own father when I was that age telling me "you never ever go into a man's room".

I remember that 2016 Oscar boycott prompted by only Jada for lack of diversity. Now I could understand Spike joining in a resistance because some of his films and his role as director has been consistently overlooked by the Academy for Best Picture or Director. But I did not agree with Jada at the time and thought Jamie Foxx's take on it was correct.
