Due to fear, Barbara was instigator of all atrocities on Homelander. They treated him as product, not as kid. But it made worse and they created a monster. Barbera thought Homelander will kill her, but he kept her alive, to live in same agony they kept him everyday.
Yeah, and it's poetic in a way since she after he called it 'the Bad Room', she said "It's just a Room". By locking her in, he both showed discipline in not killing her, while also not really sparing her to keep her alive - just locking her in and showing the same indifference he was shown by the lab. Now it can be the 'Bad Room' for both of them.
Well, yeah, but it is not like nobody is ever going back into the building again. Someone will eventually go investigate and they may find her and get her out.
@@lordpdar It would take some time for people to find out and then weld the door open. I guess she could stay alive by eating the remains of her colleagues. Plus I'm pretty sure the place Homelander was raised in is a top secret and requires high clearance to enter no matter what the situation, something few people are granted. Not like an electrician is gonna stumble in and discover all that.
@Skdiehsudue1 I think people are aware that Honelander is a terrible person. They just support him killing the scientists or at least the people in this episode because they are the ones who made him become so horrible in the first place (the ones who died in the Bad Room probably didn't experiment on him, yes, but they are still connected in a way I suppose. Or perhaps their deaths weren't deserved, and Homelander just killed them for the sake of Barbara)
@@ci7210i held hope that A-Train's sleep deprived due to him doing actual saving all night. That said, he wouldn't know of this facility, let alone save the people inside. Reggie deserved his redemption.
homelander can't kill her or stan edgar because of that deep psychological work they did on him, but he broke free enough to do this (even though he couldn't kill her, she is 50% chances of dying theere, imagine the smell or if noone comes for her) I think edgar is in danger now

They did treat him like a human being. Human beings are horrible to each other. Revenge is the most basic of human instincts and really only humans engage in violence for the sake of revenge. Barbara treats everyone like a lab experiment because she is permanently detached from her emotions and I suspect this was the only reason Homelander didn't kill her. Because she is detached emotionally, he wouldn't get the same kick out of killing her that he did with the other two. She doesn't fear death because she's stunted emotionally and this takes a bit of leverage from Homelander. By killing everyone in front of her, he's hoping she'll crack and show some emotion, but she doesn't. She won this round between them, despite the loss of her colleagues and even if she does die, she didn't let him see her crack. Not like how the other two went out, Frank and uh..Squirt.

The saddest part is, scientists and psychologist used to preform these tests on humans and children before it was outlawed. We know the effects such treatment and isolation can do to children. Its *WELL* Documented. The fact that these people were stupid enough to mentally and emotionally abuse a superpowered child like this, believing they wouldn't grow up with some level if disorder is so nuts, it feels like it would genuinely happen.
I keep seeing people say someone will go rescue her but Homelander is the head honcho at Vought International. He could just deny access to everyone but himself and anyone else he chooses.
@@ThisOffendsMeTV So she’ll be trapped in the Bad Room with the bodies. He probably won’t let anyone go down there but he wouldn’t want her to be able to leave the bad room and take the elevators.
It's crazy to hear that Homelander would never be the way he is if he wasn't abused and tested so much. If he actually had a mother/father figure, he basically would have been raised like superman.
He's born already when SB's in nicaragua, that's not saying much but as much as a douche/bully SB is i feel like he'd raise Homelander better than Vought ever could.
But what makes Superman… Superman is humility. The Kents raised him like a regular ass farm boy, while Homelander still would’ve been gassed up in his youth about being the next big thing. Just giving him a home doesn’t do much. And actually creating a whole set up where good parents can instill him with moral values just doesn’t end up with the right product for Vought.
What do you mean if she gets out? The doors are sealed. She isn't getting out. She is going to starve to death. In her last moments, she won't be thinking about how much trauma this causes her, she'll be thinking...Yummers.
Those workers likely have families who prolly called the police when they realized that the workers never came home. I'd say she probably got rescued later that night or the next day
Pretty sure that after the end of the scene (or at 0.54) , you can see the door hinges have been welded. Not saying it would be impossible to get out, but that would definitly add some time to get the material and then the re-opening the door.
They wouldn’t. Homelander is CEO of Vought now. No one is going to rescue her. Not like they know any Homelander level Supes that can break her out anyway

it was called the "bad room" because it is where homelander had all the bad thoughts. that is what he imagined doing to all the researchers. that angry reflection telling him to cut that need for love out of him like a cancer may be free now, that psycholigical barrier was holding back that psyche of homelander.
A thought just crossed my mind🤔 What if Homelander only wanted to show her why he called it the bad room. Might be he left her alive so he can come back later and kill her himself. After she's been sufficiently traumatized of course. It's so satisfying you could even say yummers
He wanted them to empathize with him and understand the depth of the psychological torment that their actions caused... and to feel genuine remorse and regret. He also wanted them dead so that these people who could treat a child that way and walk around without any concern for their actions would not be present in the world anymore.
Only 3 people there were involved in it. Several of the employees weren’t even born when Homelander was being tested on and controlled. Several appeared to only do sample work, and considering they didn’t have any subjects down there…it’s safe to say they only did to lab work and never interacted with any supes.

the thing i find weird is how did vogelbaum think they should raise the strongest supe ever in a lab while torturing him in horrifying ways and think it is a good idea, i mean its not rocket science that someone would turn out horrible if you raise him like homelander was raised
The best part of this whole scene for me was home lander believing throwing paper into the trash was a game. Kind of shows how traumatic and isolated he was his whole childhood.
She deserved it. She tried to use all the gaslighting on Homelander. Especially making homelander feel like a freak, for being born with amazing powers. She tries to make him feel guilty, and justify their actions, because they were actually scared of the superpowered baby. BUT, they made the baby superpowered. Homelander was intentionally made. So he has nothing to feel guilty of.
I would say that he has his own actions to feel guilty of. His choices are still his choices, they make us who we are. Are environments and circumstances influence us, but they do not choose for us. Homelander is a man now, and he's responsible for everything he's done now matter who or what did to him first. That is an unfortunate reality of the horrible situation he's been placed in. I will say, I don't judge him whatsoever and I might have done the same thing if those had been my body in that oven. I'd cry at his funeral. But he has to be stopped. He is a villain, and more harm will not undo what was done to him. He cannot be allowed to unleash this monster he was created to be just because he feels he "deserves" to. He's not a robot, nobody is controlling him, and whether or not he has a reason, he is choosing to do wrong and many many people are about to lose their lives
@@rockon609 the babies did not choose it, or accidentally become that. Malicious adults decided for them that they will become mutated freaks, that can possibly sneeze on nurses and kill them. The parents knew, the Vought people knew, the nurses and doctors knew. Only the kids didn't consent, and thus they got turned into monsters against their will. Just like Homelander. And Homelander is now being shamed and blamed for being made into a destructive freak.
It would be even more messed up if Homelander kept coming back with food and water and forcing her to drink and eat for months on end trapped in that room of horrors.
Either way she is in a world of pain. She either dies there, never to be discovered or she is found and released but is left with a trauma so bad that it ain’t ever gonna wash off
@@hell1942 it's not actually run by homelander, though. he may claim he runs it, but at the end of the day it is is a publicly traded company with a board, shareholders, hundreds (if not thousands) of subsidiaries and _their_ CEOs, board, and shareholders... he's just a kid with an extremely expensive playhouse. the instant the real powers that be at Vought (and I refuse to believe Stan isn't a shadow CEO doing the real work behind the Pharma wing of the company) figure out a way to neutralize him, they will. immediately and without remorse.
She wont get out.For one,since HL is the boss at Vought,he probably locked down that department.And for 2,even is someone comes HL Lasered the door if you look closely so no one will open that door.He basically entombed her there.She will starve to death and will go insane before she dies.
@@majorborngusfluunduch8694 yeah but he killed everyone in the building, she will suffer weeks in there, maybe even a month before anybody notice anything or rescue comes, by then, she would have turned completely insane and will have to eat the remains of her former work collegues to survive, further pushing the levels of insanity she will suffer through that experience. Probably deserved too. Even if by miracle she is rescued from this in 3 weeks to a month, she will never be the same, her self, her true person would have died in that room.
Just realized that this bad room door, looks like the red dors from the Black Ops games. A red metal door never means something good, it doesn’t matter the franchise we are in 😂
And even if she soemhwo miraculously got saved despite everyone there being dead, she knows she will never be safe from homelander and that he can put her back in that room anytime if she were to get out
He left her alive because he needed someone to see. I also think that he deep down still respected her a little bit more and wanted especially her to see what he did to the others, and show her that she lost all power and control over him in the end. I don't think that she died in the end. The only thing that makes not much sense, is the fact, that he waited that long. And maybe that for some scientists, they acted pretty stupid.
I just noticed something at 0:57 the door is welded shut on not just the outside but the inside of the room and if that’s the case how did homelander leave the room after he welded the door on the inside after throwing Barbara inside? 🤔
Welding is extremely localized heat. When you weld steel, especially if there is a gap where you're welding, the heat transfers through to the other side. If the back side isn't shielded by being covered with heat conducting material or flooded with inert gas, then you can get overheating and oxidization. That said, applying laser-type heat like that to a gap usually just burns a hole straight through, steel doesn't actually like mixing together without some filler material being involved.
Did anybody really need an explaination of this. There is so much more points you could have made. For example i would like to point out that those people weren't some ultra important specialist's. If anyone of them protestet againts torturing a super child would get killed and replaced. Homelander really only kills those who were just simply very mean to him or didnt care when he was screaming in agony. But Barbara is one of the master minds behind torturing him just like stan. So he does something way worst than lasering a hole in her and after 30 seconds or so crushing her head or putting her in a very strong oven (that was suppose to test durability of the strongest man on earth) and setting max power. He leaves her with a fate worse than death. Even if vought eventually rescuse her she will be traumatized for life just like he was.
How is this even something puzzling and discussion worthy? It showed her alive at the end. He wanted revenge on her, to see what she in a way caused/was responsible for. I don't think it's much more than that.
They just had 2 give the most unstable sociopath an actual decent reason for actions😂😂 if someone locked me in a room for that long it would drive any1 crazy

Am I the only one who feels kind of sympthetic towards homelander, he was literally raised in a lab with doctors,he was handled like a product, Vought is completely responsible for how homelander turned out.

They made him with superpowers. Even if he could have left he wouldn't know what to do and would juat have a life on the run. Nothing she says justified what they did to him. Normally I'd say Homelander is completely in the wrong here. But the ones in this scene who were directly connected to his childhood? They got what they deserved.
I don't think people realize how abuse works. Most people can "leave" abuse situations, they're just mentally conditioned through dependence and fear not to.

If you have watched gen V you would know when supes tried to escape they were murdered with shock . The child homelander wasn't as strong as adult homelander

She will get out. These places have to do check ups at certain times and when they fail to check and then respond to calls they’ll send someone to investigate
The saddest part of homelander is, had they actually loved him and treated him as a person the entire situation could've been avoided. Actually given a man to be behind the monster. Now all that's left is a love starved beast looking for something to fill in for its mother
It's not at all clear that Homelander actually did kill her, but it was certainly clear that she's not afraid of him, so she may have had some way to control him. Like maybe a post-hypnotic suggestion trigger word that made him temporarily stand down. I think that Barbara, if she's still alive, may have a significant role to play in the future.
What humanity could have been established in Homelander was instead replaced with deception, control and manipulation. Who knows what other atrocities the scientist there committed and planned to. I applaud Homelander on this one.
She gets out in 3 days and will have no ptsd from the event bc she will be died from the lack of water. Homelander just made her had a slow painful death that will last 1-3 (1 day if she decides to unalive herself).

i answer it.. Because he stried to give the most pain he could to everyone.. he felt this woman strong enough he kneww she woudnt cry at all..a strong person.. maybe strongest he ever knew.. so he give her the pain of loss.. a dozen death..
I remember reading that during the Columbine shootings, one of the shooters threatened a boy he considered his bully and threw a desk around in front of him but didn't kill him. It was speculated by psychologists that he wanted to feel he had power over him and wanted the bully to see him as being powerful. A person can't see you differently if you're dead. As the person making all the decisions, Barbara was the one Homelander most valued the opinion of and wanted to feel he had dominated so to speak.
Vought would send a team...to sanitize the Lab, erase all signs that anyone died there. 'Reset' the Lab for the next experiments..."we are running a business..."
I remember the line from John Wick "Those who cling to life find death and those who cling to death find life" It was clear from the start that Barbara wasn't afraid of John and didn't care much if he kills her

Well vought corrected its mistake by putting RYAN WITH HER MOM's CARE n thts why he still contain sum empathy n emotions for others well being cause of his upbringing.
I would guess Barbra was betting on him “needing” the scientists as a source of love. However I think she failed to realize he has somewhat abandoned the idea of getting their approval. I could be wrong though.
