Oh my god that clip when Sean Evans kept getting interrupted on that H3H3 video is exactly how I am when I get interrupted.. I thought I was the only one who acted like that.
Best interviewer of 21st century is Nardwuar. I'll give Sean a close second though. Everything you said makes him a great interviewer: research and keeping interview on track, Nardwuar does just as well if not better. Just watch a compilation of people being interviewed by Nardwuar and having their mind blown
Nah. Nardwuar is good, but I find his shtick to be a bit annoying, and when talking with a difficult guest he can, in his own weird way, become quite standoff-ish. Nardwuar vs. Tyler the Creator (for example) is absolutely hilarious, but I certainly wouldn't call it a 'great' interview. Sean Evans has an uncanny ability to make his guests feel (more or less) mentally comfortable while experiencing tremendous physical discomfort. Sean Evans is the man.
As an artist, doing research on a subject is key. Immersion is part of making the art/expressing the "meaning" perceived. Sean is an interview artist and the masterpiece altogether.
this is literally a summary of Dale Carnegie's book "how to win friends & influence other people" the greatest and probably the oldest self-improvement and communication skills book ever. sean really DID his homework.
I love hot ones. Not only cause it has my fav celebrities and artists but their also eating the best food ever being fried chicken and also vegan stuff for their guests too which makes it more interesting
That mirroring of body movement reminds of that youtube video about the interogation of Col Russel Williams in which Jim can't Swim explains how mirroring someone's movements tends to form a sympathetic bond between the two and how most people do this automatically.
Great animation, personality, and voice, not to mention this entire video was well written and well thought out ! Good job bro, You helped me see how much of a genius Sean Evans is
This is genuinely one of my favourite things about writing. Just getting to know this other, fictional person living in a fantastical world and then experiencing one of the most interesting parts of their life as a copilot in their mind changes you every time you do it.
That is the whole point of his immersion technique. It's a lot easier to focus on what your guest is saying when you take every single aspect of their life and turn them into your interests, if only for a moment. Rather impressive.
I suddenly feel bad for all the celebrities, imagine how torturing it is to answer the same f** ing question over and over, like you’re not a real human with real interests.
Sean is a genius interviewer. Plus, dude, your animation style reminds me of Kurzgesagt. And I love it. I love what you said at the end about immersing our selves in the lives and minds of others as a means of dealing with our own problems.
This video is excellent and I appreciate someone unpacking Shawn Evans, However it became difficult for me due to the amount of ad spots Good. work overall
