I have several computers for different work. I really dont need a Ryzen to play World of Warcraft, so for that i have lesser Intel as secondary. Modern games i use Ryzen.
Ok, this could be a good reason for the CPU downgrade. I been trying to figure out what reasons for the need to downgrade the CPU, and so far this comment is only one that makes sense.
@@ryanheinig7975 yeah the title is extremely misleading, I thought maybe there some software that was having issues with the hardware or something but no, he just wanted the CPU to put in the new computer hes building, although it all boils down to the ship of Theseus,
@chriswilbur1356 yea, I realize after listening to video a 2nd time that was to replace (getting rid of it) with new PC that will have that new AMD gpu in it. I'm pretty sure he'll make a new video of that build, and performance, once he done putting it together.
@@dannys9074 yeah, i would lay it on my back every time i mess with my cpu, pretty interesting to trust 100% that your cpu wont fall out because it slipped out of your hands, or fell off the locking mechanism before you can get it
@@Simply-Director That's interesting seeing as the CPU will absolutely survive any fall it may see inside a computer case, but the pins in the socket will be damaged from dropping the CPU on them from even a few centimeters.
@@Simply-Director its an lga cpu, not pga like am4 or older intel. itll be fine if it falls, what wont be fine are the pins on the motherboard if you drop the cpu on them
yall wont regret it price to performance is crazy have asus x670e plus 7900xtx and 7800x3d with 32g of trident gskill 6000mhz 4k ultra mw3 getting around 220 fps with out fsr 2.1 if you got 1440 display you wont have to worry ever
I never had the pleasure of building my pun pc but my dad managed to get me a laptop that has great specs. I want to build a desktop but I’m grateful that my dad sponsored my asus rog strix
Yep same here my dad saved me years of savings and got me a good enough laptop, I was planning on building a desktop but I don't think I'll need one for 4 or 5 years
@@jebes909090 4090 is an absolute beast, hands down. But you would probably be very happy with the 7900 xtx, I know I am. But also happy for you though, the 7900 xtx will probably become obsolete much earlier than the 4090.
Tbf, he did mention why. He said he got the new graphics card, and the only other cpu he had was a downgrade from his current. So he swapped that downgrade with his current, so he could use the better cpu in a new build. Not saying it’s not a hidden ad, but still.
@@justa9560 "upgrades GPU" "downgrades 12700k to 12600k" yeah real big downgrade. He lost 3% of processor speed and gained 50% GPU speed by this 'downgrade' LOL
@@escapetherace1943 Did you watch the same video? He said he's making a new computer with his new GPU, so he wants his better processor in his new computer. To accomplish that, he downgrades his CPU. He didn't even touch the GPU in the video
I've so many working computer components, tablets and laptops it's a shame to throw them away, when I was 14 I would possibly have killed somebody to get my hands on such hardware. Nowadays it just piles up, it's also too much trouble to sell it, like data has to be erased first and the new owner might not be able to start it for some reason, or it's too old so nobody even wants it. I wish I could send all this stuff to my younger self some decades ago.
Raspberry Pi just went public and Pi Holes are going to be everywhere just by stacking cards like a blade server. It's only E waste if you can't bridge them all together
I finally got the parts for my first custom build but I’m super nervous as I’ve never built my own custom PC before. I’m gonna rock the AMD 7800X3D with the MERC310 7900XTX
@@ELpeaceonearth that’s awesome, I usually go for the buy once cry once philosophy which will ensure I don’t need to upgrade anything for years. My current build was an i7-2600k with a 1660Super to give you an idea of how long it’s been since I upgraded
I’m new to PC gaming(1 Week In) and I noticed that my CPU(AMD 7940HS) also just sits at like 6-9% usage. I was wondering if you knew why that’s the case? I thought games and stuff started to take advantage of multiple cores and threads when DX12 came out.
Got the same model open box at microcenter for 875. Unfortunately my upgrade from a 3060 was a nightmare as my system keep crashing and hotspot temps were at 105°C! Returned it and got a 4090 from best buy for 1700. Was gonna go 4080 but I ultimately decided why not got for the best of the best. Hope you have more luck with the taichi it’s a great looking card.
Man I just can’t ever see myself leaving invidia, moonlight and many other nvidia exclusive features are just such quintessential parts of my PC usage that I can’t imagine life without them.
I tried the 7800xtx with my 7950x3d and was honestly really disappointed. The card performed really well but amd drivers and software are leagues behind Nvidia still. Amazing cpus, mid gpu.
Exactly maybe its a ddr4 build and he wants ddr5 so new motherboard and memory are required idk only sensible reason imo. Not sensible in price though just for ddr5.
at this point just wait it out. New cards are coming from Nvidia ( possibly jan 2024 for reveal ) which could drop prices of all other cards. COULD being the keyword here, I usually am against waiting but seeing as its so close you may as well. You could get a 7900xtx even cheaper then.
@@joababoikoni5624 Just buy AMD right. We better not give money to Nvidia considering they're about launch the Super which will cost more for incremental gains and should've been the actual 4000 series since the SUPERs don't have downgraded bus width. AMD is the only one pushing Nvidia to cut down prices of their cards especially with the 7800xt
@@joababoikoni5624 no problem man, that's my plan as well. 3080 to 7900xtx but seeing as these cards are so close we could get drops in price again and get a better deal on the 7900xtx
@@pauloazuela8488 the 7800xt is honestly a joke. Its barely better than my 6800xt and in reality is more like a 7700 upsold to a 7800. Just like the 7900xt and xtx. They are just as bad as Nvidia in the end and only want money. They do not care about dropping prices and it shows by the fact they tried selling 7900xts for 900 and the xtx for 1000.
Damn bruh my 2006 optiplex 960 with windows xp is rocking a solid i2 dual core (bone dry paste) with 2 gigs of ram and no additional graphics card. And get this it can even run Medal Of Honor Allied Assault for a good 15 minutes before randomly rebooting. If that ain’t a sleeper build I don’t know what is.
Pure Gaming enters Productivity leaves the chat Zach says "this is a pure gaming build" *justified 🎉 Edit: Yes I am also still rocking with my 6600XT even works well for small 3D rendering tasks
i am learning form you and building and upgrading pc's for other people for cheap with that i will be able to build a gaming pc for myself in next 4-5 months if i skip my lunch ...........thank you very much Teacher
Day 1 of asking What should I upgrade to for 3 way splitting with ASTER? I have an 12400 and 980 ti, so not great lol. All 3 people will be gaming simultaneously, stuff like minecraft and fortnite. I dont want to spend more than like 700 usd. Thanks! Edit: I already have a full build with the i5-12400, GTX 980 Ti, arctic freezer water cooling for cpu, 16gb ddr4 3200, and b660m motherboard.
Nahh man that 12400 and 980ti are still very competent on 2023, it has 6gb of vram and performs like an GTX1660 Super. Although id just say keep it how it is. Get more storage or more RAM then upgrade to an RX5700XT or an 6700XT if you want to. The 12400 performs like an i9 10900K and i9 11900K In single core performance.
I have a 4070 myself but could push for AMD equivalent or maybe even higher but for 1440p something around the 4070 mark or equivalent should be the sweet spot for that CPU imo Works amazing
Nah not at all the 12700K is very powerfull, its a great pair honestly. Also there will always be a bottleneck in a pc. always, that how components communicate.
have checked the bottle neck calculator with ryzen 5 3600 and rtx 2060 is it a good pair it is showing it has bottle neck of 0.02 for gaming on 1080 p screen
Built my first pc around a month ago and holy shit.. it’s an awesome experience and upgrade from my Dell g5000 that had a 2060super. My new pc runs a 4070 super paired with the Ryzen 7600x 😊. It’s been handeling everything on 1440p ultra everything no problem
Hope that asrock Tachi doesnt overheat on you. Ive had two of those that both would hit 105c. Until i finally went with a powercolor as thats all microcenter had at the time.
Just bought the same i5-12600kf with a 4060 to pair with it on a budget, would have done and but I’ve never used them so I wasn’t sure what to expect (keep in mind I’m rocking an i7-9700 with a 2060 currently)
I got a 1600kf with a 3090 been lacking a bit on cpu side (I'm a 1080p high refresh rate gamer) 280hz monitor. Hopefully on 7900xtx works better with it :)
You can't compare the weaker laptop's components with a desktop PC. The sole pro for buying a gaming laptop is if you have to move a lot not stay much in one place.
I’ll never regret upgrading to a 7900xtx and the 7950x3d 128gb of ram 4tb of 990 pro ssd 360 cooler runs flawless well over 350 fps in almost anything medium to high settings at 1440. It also runs small recording set up for guitar tracking so it’s needed. Might even go 14900k just cause it’s so new lol
I tend to build my PC's around performance at a specific target resolution & never needing to upgrade anything for 4-5 years that I keep them. That mostly means no need to overkill on the GPU for building a 1080p or 1440p system. Just research & buy the one that hits a solid FPS rate at the targeted resolution goal & high/max viewing settings.
I’ve been rocking the 13700k with a 4080 for almost a year and i must say it’s quite nice. Google trying to tell me a 4080 is almost 15% faster than a 7900xtx but i don’t believe that. i play on 1440p now but its a MASSIVE upgrade over my old 1080ti even on 1080p and that is still crazy good frames if you have a cpu to feed the beast.
Based on my XTX in games and comparing number to others with the 4080, I get equal or up to 10% better FPS. It’s very game dependent of course, but I can definitely say that the 4080 is not 15% faster
