@@saint6563 after week 3 we weren’t sneaking up on anyone, the rest of the league saw them dominate the Jags and got a taste of what was to come. You speak as if teams don’t prepare for opponents each week. I hate the terms sneaking up or the excuses of not having film, they are lame excuses. This is the NFL, it is not comparable to say a division III school beating a power 5 school. If you can’t cut it in the NFL you’re goin back to school in the college ranks.
@@CarlosGarcia-zt3mr Calling us the Jaguars is blasphemy! Casserio is not Trent Balke, CJ Stroud is what Trevor Lawrence was supposed to be, a generational talent and franchise Qb. This team won’t wilt under a more difficult schedule.
People who want to see Stroud regress are going to be disappointed lol. Getting to keep his OC + all his weapons from last year is huge. But what separates CJ and makes him immune to a slump imo is his process. He prepares too well and watched too much film to get caught slipping
Facts 🤣🤣 I never understood why they say that! Like last year after week 10-11, that’s enough tape on a player, they act like he was doin some completely different every game 🤣
@@to4316 on the road in a playoff game with 2 of the top 3 WR’s on the team injured, multiple starters on the o line injured, and no run game at all. Get a brain man
I'm 50 and lived in Houston since I was 7. CJ Stroud had the best QB season we've ever seen in this city, in my opinion. Warren Moon, Dan Pastorini, Matt Schaub, and Deshaun Watson have all had Pro Bowl or Pro Bowl caliber seasons, but Stroud last year was better. He had the best rookie QB season I've ever seen in terms of pure QB play. He's has elite accuracy, decision making, and arm talent. The Texans will win a Super Bowl in the next 5 seasons, barring injury to Stroud.
Great point! Rookie QBs don’t play like Stroud did last season period. I have never seen a rookie QB read a defense, advance through progressions, and throw with anticipation like Stroud did. Hell most NFL vets don’t do that! The best part of his game is his ball placement, he doesn’t dink and dunk, he gets chunks and still protects the football. There is a reason why there were only 2 QBs all time to ever lead the league in passing yards per game and TD to INT ratio, Montana and Brady were the best precision passing QBs of all time, and CJ joined them as a rookie. This was not a one off aberration, CJ won’t regress. This will be in line with how Brady and Mahomes careers have gone, he will get better every year, and the NFL teams will be hard pressed to find a way to stop him. Hopefully we can get multiple Super Bowls out of this young man.
@mellomike4012 I agree with you he won't get a sophomore slump this year because he is a different type of quarterback . Also he will get better this year too and improve on his game too . I think this we will win our first superbowl this year
QBs regress in year 2 when they are gimmick players who rely on a few specific skills or a specific scheme. NFL teams then get to study those skills or schemes and come better prepared in year 2. CJ was great because of his vision, accuracy, and ability to make the right reads through elite football IQ and preparation like film study. Those are skills that last and will carry you through a 15-20+ year career. He will be one of the next greats, no reason to fear regression.
Let’s all talk about CJ stroud about how he has all these weapons and I didn’t hear one person say he’s a game manager but god forbid Brock Purdy Mr irrelevant has similar weapons across the board and getting slandered being called a game manager because he has all these weapons I don’t understand this at all !!! Anyone else find it bizarre
To be fair The Texans were a laughing stock when CJ entered that situation. Brock is a good qb but his role on that team is to “not to lose us [the team] the game” vice verse the roles of elite qb including CJ is to “ be the reason why we [team] win the game “. NOT sayin he doesn’t have that ability cause each season is different. He just hasn’t displayed it in winning time fyi the “Super Bowl”
Bro mad his qb is entirely mid. Comparing a rookie qb who had the worst team in the league entering the 2023 nfl season. Projected to be the number one pick again. If it wasn’t for coaches players stepping up and the most important CJ they would’ve been 4-13 again. When cj got injured the Texans played the worse they did all year just showed how important cj is to the team.
Purdy went to a team that didn’t need a qb at the time. He went too a top5 receiving core second best te in league top 5 defense top 3 hc and yet you tryna compare that to cj entering with worse defense offense rookie hc rookie coordinators rookie players 1 year vets. Comeon stop crying.
@@MikkiChavez a lot of emphasis on “if” Richardson works. And yall organization was on the fences of Micheal pitman’s contract so yall don’t think he’s really HIM as a WR1…yall be fighting for that 7th place spot this year 🤣
CJ Stroud plays dominant unstoppable football Lol. Now he’s getting more comfortable with his receivers and scheme and most important of all, MORE EXPERIENCE!
Some context for Strouds worst game against the Jets. It was a heavy rain game, his receiving corps was Woods, Hutchinson, Brown and Beck. No tank, Nico went out early, no Schultz. It was a dire situation. Stroud will say no excuses but it was a dire situation. Jets ran up the score Tbf. I feel like his genuine worst game was against Carolina. Fresh off the bye came out flat, Carolina was disrupting passing lanes. Then Baltimore took away everything. Twice.
But not this time around....they all will have to account for all of the Texans playmakers...I can see mismatches and I predict PAIN from the Texans defense 😯
That wasn’t CJ’s worst game more than it was Scruggs, who allowed that to happen to CJ. Made the playoffs with supposedly the worst OL in the history of the league. Plus, that field is the worst in the NFL.
