Chris Collinsworth, teamed with Al Michaels that night, made the greatest comment immediately after the play. "If you took Seattle's entire offensive line off the field, I would still trust Marshawn Lynch to get 1 yard".

@dethaddr
@dethaddr Месяц назад
Yeah, them idiots really don't think of those things. For me, I lived through the Largent years, so my dad was always throwing and I was doing "over the shoulder" catches. Could have made one of those with my eyes closed. Hearing Marshawn say that, I think back to those times. I never was really good at football, but my dad left the game to take my crying baby bro and sis home before he could watch me intercept a ball and break 5 tackles on the way to the 86-yd score. They didn't have wideouts in 8-man so DB was the best I could do.

Unlikely, but possible. The six time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots were coached by Bill Belichick, who also won two Super Bowl titles as defensive coordinator for the New York Giants. The Patriots were prepared with 8 defensive linemen and 3 DBs for a “jumbo” package. That’s a defense specifically prepared to stuff the run. And it’s not like Marshawn has never been stopped at the 1 yard line before. In the 2013 NFC CG, 49ers against Seahawks, Marshawn fumbled trying to punch it in from one yard out and the 49ers recovered. There was some atrocious officiating in that NFC CG as well, but that’s another story.

The last bit of this awesome interview gives it away, maybe that's why he did not get the ball...kinda explains things from a coach-player headspace. Lynch was our fav....wishing him well.
