Ya know I wanted to hate because I still love I-no but you're completely right with the happy chaos match up.

I think the ability to play comfortably is extremely underrated, especially for someone trying to make deep bracket runs, and if Bridget (or any character) can do that for someone, they shouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

It's kinda crazy how a character that isn't even THAT popular discourages so much character variety. Maybe it's nostagia-tinted glasses but I don't remember Elphelt being this bad even if it was complete despair running into one. All the other top tiers are annoying in their own ways but it sucks to easily get trapped into HCs wincon and not have ways to break it other than "just dash block 4Head". I don't really know. I play Anji so, on paper, there's worse matchups to be had like Sol and Zato but I don't mind them as much as Happy Chaos. At this point the pocket counter pick is destined to become the main if this character becomes Strive's Elphelt/Johnny forever buffed top tier.

I feel the exact same. I picked up Testament just bc I was absolutely done with playing I-No against HC, and honestly I just ended up making the switch over completely. On a good day, playing against HC can be a fun challenge, but on any other day it's so endlessly frustrating and I just don't want to hate the game, so I had to make the change.

Oh yeah, Baiken's inconsistency against different weights has really been annoying me lately now that I've learned more combo routes. I will definitely been practicing with the next character that gets added.

I still find it quite hard to land jD, safejumps or 2k>2d>RA again, so I think it would be a lot of help if you could put out a video like that for the people like me that don't quite get the hang of it. Thanks for the I-No content through season 1. I'm gonna be sticking with her though - I have a bunch of secondaries, but I-No is the only character I want to compete with. Even if I have to run into two HCs in bracket again ; _ ;.

I can definitely see your reasons, especially with the happy chaos matchup. Baiken getting super popular probably also means people know how to play against her, maybe not yet but definitely in the future. The only thing I could see happening is Bridget being a bit like zato where she also starts popping up everywhere once she develops more and more. Do you think you'll move on to someone else if she gets too popular?

As a Baiken main whose been going back and forth between these two, I 100% understand and agree exactly where you're coming from. The only other character I've been teetering around is Testament, IF I didn't want to stick with Baiken. Bridget is easily the character I've had the most fun exploring, but she has been a huge knowledge check for me when actually trying to play games.

I watched you play in one of Baccpack's tournaments a couple weeks back and I was surprised your Bridget did so well. Especially because I watched your content way before I started watching Baccpack, so I thought your I-no would come out at some point, but you stuck with Bridget the entire time. This video was a long time coming and your reasons for switching were pretty fair.

I think you're on point about Baiken. She has some absolutely phenomenal buttons in jS and fS and great pressure. But as you said she has to commit. Her health isn't the greatest either. I'm coming from Nago, and Bridget is so much funner to play. She's fast and flexible. As strong as Nago is, getting zoned out and having to sit there at 2 blood, hoping to clip your opponent with 5h is not the funnest thing!

I’m a new player, and have never tried a game this skill required haha. I’m maining Bridget ^w^ 0:57 - 1:32 That was honestly one of the most brutal and objectively unfair things I have ever watched in a fighting game. I was actually getting frustrated *for*the I-No player. Holy hell.

Man, that's one of the things that i dislike a lot about Baiken, her inconsistency and commitment. The removal of Suzuran was the greastest mistake the devs have made with this character.

I literally only fight Bridget players online. Couldn't even get experience against the rest of the cast as a result and as soon as I fight someone else one of us gets a rating update or we have a terrible connection (lots of visual rollback)

I've seen enough bridget already at ect to know that nago is still a pain in the ass for this char. Risk return is absolutely dreadful especially in a tournament setting but I wish you the best in your future tourney's on bridget

I talk a lot about how a typical top 8 is the walking embodiment of "Git Gud" so much to the point you have to see people drop their favorite characters for safer picks, hurts. I stake a lot of my playstyle here at my locals in Xanadu/VGbootcamp but it's a lot in the face of what's out in those brackets. I started with Baiken, I'll finish with her though. I honestly don't play enough to say whether or not she's top 5. All I can say is she's my favorite character, she feels strong and I'll miss stealing tech from you. 😔 But I'll also look forward to seeing your Bridget.

Feels bad to see Faust in "even" for budget. I get completely destroyed by him. Feels like when Brisket is denied the chance to dictate the rhythm of the match by controlling space, things get dicey for her

Bridget is super fun to play ! I love the switch,still love I-No but I had more fun with Bridget recently too. This might just be me,but I don’t think Bridget Vs Testament is a losing Matchup,I’d say even or slightly winning. As long as you don’t lose Neutral and don’t let them Set up Crow if that happens….you’re more likely going to die. I don’t think Baiken is top 5 1.HC 2.Leo (personally I struggle more against him, stop breaking my ankles man !) 3.Nago 4.Ram 5.Zato-1 6.Testament 7.Baiken I have no idea where I’d put the rest,but that’s how it generally feels. I wish Happy Chaos didn’t exist or played differently. Everybody wants to win and it’s inevitable to not run into a Happy Chaos as more and more people make that switch to win. I don’t blame the player. Some people like guns and would play him even if he wasn’t that good. If Jack-O,Testament and Bridget didn’t exist, I’d be playing Ram.

It's kinda crazy because this is basically exactly my thought process over the past month. I, too, really disliked the season 2 changes to I-No and I was sick of the HC matchup, so I decided to really go hard with Baiken. The stuff I saw there was all cool, and I spent so much time grinding out the mixup, looking up tech and expanding my understanding of her neutral, she just felt really inconsistent to me. But I had problems with consistency--I actually left a comment on one of your videos about two weeks ago asking if some of the setups you had demonstrated were supposed to hit meaty because I genuinely didn't know if they required just godlike precision above my level to hit meaty, and have ambiguous approaches, *and* confirm into a combo, or if it just didn't have those properties. Hearing a better player (you) tell me, yeah, no, it really is finnicky and case-by-case made me think, and after a few days of letting that sit I was like "nah, I'm out of here." Baiken seems like she has a lot of tools, but the prospect of grinding out every single one of those tools to the degree I had to in order to get stuff like the ambiguous tethered yozansen crossup mix sounded grueling. But even worse than that was the anxiety of not knowing what properties my tools would have in each situation; like having to learn all those scenarios and make adjustments to my gameplan and keep track of that when considering how I was conditioning people sounded so terrible. I considered the case of like, if a mixup that normally hits meaty just... *doesn't* off a different combo or a different starting distance, then I have to A) know that and B) know that one case forces my opponent to respect me on wakeup and the *requires* they respect me and so the conditioning tree going into two different contexts for effictively the same mixup gets that much more complicated without any reward. And that's literally just *one* scenario for one mixup. I decided my time would be better spent elsewhere, and dropped Baiken to pick up Testament, who I'd been really enjoying and felt had a lot of unexplored potential, and, well, here we are. It would be cool if these issues were addressed in the future, but for now, here we are. Good luck with Bridget, and I'll keep rooting for you in tournament.

Bridget is a lot of fun. She has answers for most things(even if they're not great), she fights the top tiers fairly well, and her set play is pretty strong since you don't necessarily have to commit too hard. You get to press a lot of buttons and make people hold that if they don't have any meter or burst. She explodes when people sneeze on her and her damage on non-counter hit can be pretty sad though.

The only time I would suggest counter picking is against Goldlewis. I personally feel like that MU is heavy in Baiken’s favor.

Wow, and I thought the inconsistency with Baiken was just me sucking! Usually, my winrate in Celestial with Baiken is about 10 percent or so, depending on how goated my opponents are, and when I then finally clip them ubexpectedly or suprise them with something/get a nice setup going that would win me at least ONE game against them and it just doesn't work ... oof, feels so demoralizing 😩

I mean I love I-NO too but I cant even fight you on that. HC is such a bad match up im already starting to switch. Funny enough I was looking into going over to Brisket as well. I was trying Jack-O but sadly she had that HC problem too.

Baiken is definitely not top 5 and people kept overhyping her as shit because of her buffs last patch. The lack of consistency in her combosm like you said, and the lack of decent midscreen confirms make her have to jump in a lot to start her pressure, which just makes her 6p fodder.

As a non-baiken player i do feel that she's really good, but there are enough characters who are obviously just so good that she's not top 5. Bridget is also solid though.

When i first played this game i picked up baiken and went through just arcade to start and it was a breeze until the end and the last match was against nago. I knew from that moment on playing real players who have nago were going to be a serious pain in the ass

It's not enough to make me drop baiken (yet?), but I also hate having to remember which combos work against which weights and things like that. I'm bad enough as it is, I don't have to room in my head yet to be focusing on stuff like that so I try not to, but then I feel like I'm not using everything baiken has to offer and it frustrates me. And the inconsistency with some of her mix is erally frustrating. I find myself being unable to tell why a combo dropped even when watching a replay and trying to replicate it in training mode. Super annoying.

I have no doubt that Baiken has a much higher skill ceiling than people give her credit floor, she just has the Ram issue where her skill floor is so absurdly low and the risk reward is heavily weighted in her favor.
