Why I’m Switching Away From GoPro… 

I’ll agree. GoPro was nice when they first came out and up until about the 6. The newer ones have put me off because I’ve lost so much footage from corrupt SD cards and high temp shutdowns

I switched from the GoPro Hero 7 to DJI's Osmo Action 3. I looked into getting the GoPro 10/11 but it seemed there's still the usual GoPro problems. It was such a massive upgrade after a month of use. No more lost footage, no more corrupt SD cards, no more freezing after one second of recording and not realizing it froze. Battery life is amazing. I can record 4k/24fps for an hour and a half-ish with no problems. Compared to the GoPro 7's 4k runtime of 20-30mins or less. Or not at all. Having two batteries is enough for a whole day of recording and that makes me extremely happy. I'm looking to pick up either the Insta360 Ace Pro or the Osmo Action 4 for my main camera while the Osmo Action 3 as my camera facing me.

Haven't had any issues with my 9, but I don't use it much. Also have a dead 9 my friend gave me that pretty much bricked itself just from general use. From what I've seen online, the recent GoPros are really hit or miss on whether you get a good device or a lemon. Battery life is really bad like you mentioned, and it seems like they've just been stagnant for years now. Overheating also seems to be super common, I know multiple people who have had overheating issues on the newer GoPros

The ACE Pro is incredible at night, you can also pause/resume recording without closing out the file and starting a new recording. The GO 3 has a removable camera as well. The base does the recording and mini cam does just the video capture and sends it to the base.

Why don't you try and make a night vlog and see how it performs

Me and my wife have the Dji Osmo Action 1 and 3, never hade any problem with them. I have recorded 30-40 minutes with the Action 3 and it still hade around 80% battery left that is sick🤩 And what I have notice is that Dji and Insta are built after GoPro’s flaws and they are much more reliable then GoPro. I bought a GoPro hero 7 when I was looking for my first action camera and I heard about all the “freezing” and the “bugs” that they hade but I was like: it can’t be that bad. After 5 minutes when I turned it on (no joke) it froze on me, no hesitation I drove back to the shop and returned the camera and bought the Dji Osmo Action 1 and that is the best camera I have ever hade and I have never hade any problem with it after these years. Now I have the action 3 and all I can say is WOW!!!

I Agree. I have had hero5 (best one of the bunch) 3 hero 7,s (multiple returns as i thought i got lemons) 1 hero 8(returned) ,and now a hero 10. What do I film with on my bike? the original DJI osmo action. Its pathetic how all the influencers push the goPro's when they are sub standard now. Marketing is their greatest tool as the functionality has been bad for years now. We all know they corrupt footage, fail to take audio , freeze, and overheat at an unacceptable rate. Why? because they are a camera. The 1st priority of the job is taking footage. If I cannot count on you to do that thing then what is your purpose. I will never buy one again. DJI and Insta are the only buys from now on. If anyone tells you to get one they are most likely sponsored.
