dude this was click bait af. its a great sound machine dont makeit sound like there is a major issue withthe honda from that title. go ahead and get the polaris, hope u enjoy the walk home.
It’s not click bait. It is true. I will more than likely never buy another Honda again. I’m just really bored with them. Everyone knows Hondas are good.
It's hard for Honda to invent something new when what they produce is basically bullet proof. Now I am no Honda fan boy, I promise, but I started on an 04 Honda Rubicon in 04 for $6599.00 and could not have asked for a better ATV. I moved to Alaska and hunting out in the back country, I needed something that was better suited for permafrost, muskeg, and pulling meat wagons with 1600 lbs. of gear and meat 20 plus miles into some rough country. So, I bought a 2014 Can Am XMR 1000 in 2014 for $17,000, great machine, can't complain at all except no pull start in case your starter or battery take a shit. Moved back to the lower 48 and sold the XMR as it wasn't getting rode much. Decided to get back into hunting deer again, decided to find me a great shape Honda Rubicon with low hours and miles. Went right back and found me a 2003 Honda Rubicon for $3600. Reason? You cannot beat these machines for their bullet proof internals and ease of repair. Now if your into the latest gadgets and options, then these aren't for you and to each his own.
My oldest four wheeler is a 1995 Honda 300 Four Trac which I still ride all the time and never had any trouble with it. The next one I got was the very first Rancher model they made which I had for 10 years with no trouble then 5 years later I bought 2 more Ranchers. I had them for 5 years with no trouble. I sold all 3 ranchers at the same time to get funds to start building a house. I bought my newest Rancher in 2017 with no troubles so now I own the first and last four wheeler and use them a lot. Now I am in the process of finding a dealer that has a 2023 Rancher 4X4 to add to my collection and looking at a used 2002 Rancher. That will give me a total of 4 of them so my family can all ride together. As long as Honda keeps making them to last like all of them I have had I will always be loyal to them. Love the looks of the 2023 Rancher and that size 4 wheeler seems to work perfect for me.
The young man who is complaining about the four Hondas he has previouly ownedhas more money than good sense. Listen to his evaluation and you will know what I'm talking about.
I'll take the "same ole look", when I'm 3hrs from the nearest town in Northern Canada. That reliability is nice when it's hovering around zero degrees (F).
I look forward to seeing your videos on whatever new quad you choose. You are rough on them, so we will get a good idea of what they are made of. Watching you beat on the Rubicons is what convinced me to buy one. If you can't kill 'em, they will certainly survive whatever I throw at them.
I own a honda foreman 520 2022, I do agree that the screen, storage, and new features do need to be updated. Still want that honda Reliably/ Durability. Its Been good atv, and should last many years..
Stupid click bait. Ill save everyone the annoyance of watching this video. He wont buy another honda because he has owned 4 now and they are too reliable and so hes bored of them. 😆 im a die hard Yammi guy, i was hoping it was because he kees breaking hondas... im disapointed...
BTW, personnel comments aside, Honda's legendary quality and dependability should not be confused with speed and or HP, as either typically rewards early failure. De-tuning does the opposite. You have 2 sides to this, better performance/options or legendary quality. Honda stays away from top dog performance in most all products in favor of upholding undeniably the best record for bringing you home. Just my .02 with 14 Honda products in my decades. I mean days :)
My 01 suzuki vinson 500, i put 1500 miles in rock crawling alone, never had any issues with a belt smoking, never, there built pretty well, good wheel aproach, tons of bottom end power..
You’ll learn to hate that big polaris display when all it shows is check engine lights 😂 everybody I know that has one, is constant taking it to the shop. Honda is a far more reliable machine. That Polaris will leave your stranded, I promise
4 years is not really time to expect a lot of significant changes though. I had a Polaris Scrambler and HATED the CVT and the Polaris "On-Demand" AWD system, and in 2007 bought a new 2006 Foreman ES. The thing has been a tank. Recently I bought a used 2020 Rubicon foot shift, with a ton of miles, snorkeled, 19.5s, sketchy past, and the think has also been a tank. If you go to another manufacturer, you are going to get a CVT. In 2019 I went in search of a side by side, and ended up with a Polaris General, and remembered how much I hate CVT's and Polaris AWD until I got it. If Honda would make a "crossover" class side by side, I'd be the first one in line to get one. I also appreciate your reviews of the DCT, as I wasn't sure how it would stand up to heavy trail riding and/or mud, so good to see your videos on it. I might get one of those one of these days!
Yeah but they haven’t really changed in only 4 years. It’s been years and years. Pretty much the same for the last 8 years. I’m ready for the rincon to get replaced. The DCT has 1600 miles on it. Been a near flawless machine. Can’t complain one bit.
I’m happy you speak your mind about the Honda and your right they don’t change much but the way Honda look at it is why change something good. I had a lot of bikes over the years and I recently bought a new Honda and so far I love this machine but your also right about the Polaris , they have great machines that ride as smooth as a car. Thanks I enjoyed your video but Honda is still number one for me
i went from an old Foreman to a Brute Force 750. I got spoiled with the power. 70mph in the backyard is addicting. I've had to replace one belt since 2008.
I bought a used 2020 canam 850 xmr and am super happy with it. Would definitely recommend trying them. Those 850s pull like a freight train and ride like a cadilac.
@@JacobOverman yea imo I like the looks of canams better but they both look great. Excited to see whatcha choose. I think an 850 of either would be a great addition to the channel.
If you treat your Polaris like a Queen and keep it in a heated garage and only do light riding no mudding or anything like that your Polaris might last you half as long as a Yamaha if your lucky. My dad and my brother both ride Polaris. My brother bought his 570 new and in the 3-4 years he’s owned it he’s replaced a solonoid. But he only uses it on flat dry ground mostly and occasionally pushes snow out of his driveway. My dads 06 700 sportsman is absolute trash and has spent more time broken than it has riding. He likes to rip on my Hondas while he rides my spare Honda everywhere lol.
Like you I got tired of Honda not keeping up with the Jones, but it's hard to find something with the reliability, after doing my research I went with the Suzuki, and never went back. I made the switch about 20 years ago, I'm in my 60's now and I own a 2000 Vinson 500, a 2007 King quad 700, 2016 King quad 750, and a 2022 king quad 750. I use the 700, my wife the 2022 750, and my daughter rides the 2016 750. My oldest bike the Vinson has been through hell and back and performs like the day I bought in, it's my work horse, the day I purchased it I had the dealer install Mudbugs on it and it stays in the mud pulling trees, my tailor filled with bags of corn, if it would have broken down 10 years ago, I'd say it I got my money's worth out of it. That 2022 Suzuki King Quad 750 has the 27" Kenda Executioners, and an incredible ride. Just my opinion
I just bought a new one. I peeled all the stickers off of it and drilled the rivets out of those dumb warning plates Currently shopping for wheels I was told it was the best bike to buy for reliability
I love my honda!!! I know an outfitter..he has 6 camps all over Canada.Says honda is the most reliable.yes, Hondas look the same but one of the best quality drive trains...period!!
If you want a reliable solid machine with more power the brute force 750 is hard to beat, a lot of the others wouldn’t like take the beating your giving that one, Polaris is almost likely to fall apart on you, I don’t think can am isn’t going to handle that kind of abuse either, the brute force is maybe one you might want to take a look at
@@JacobOvermanold video old comment i know, but if you're looking for any insight, i think you'd have similar complaints about the brute 750 after a while. fantastic machine, the v twin is not a slouch by any means, but they're pretty much nearly exactly same machines they were 15 years ago they went from carb'd to EFI and gave it a facelift in 08 they did a refresh in 2012 gave it power steering, changed up the plastics and some of the electronics, and unless i've missed something under the hood they've been building them the exact same sense. Great machine, love my 08, but kawi isn't doing anything to rock the boat and get existing owners in for an 'upgrade' park a 08 next to a 2023 and only difference you'd notice at a glance is the headlights are different. if stale cosmetics Arn't as big a concern as you made them out to be, highly recommend looking into one.
I've primarily run Honda wheelers since 1990 and I don't have any complaints from Honda. My 1992 Yamaha big bear has been decent other than busting the main drive gear and replacing the engine/Trans unit with a worn out salvage yard unit. My experiences with Polaris have been all bad! The belt drives get wet and slip causing them to get stuck. The cvt is unsafe for younger riders and beginners. And they just aren't reliable in my experience.
If you're still looking at atvs I can maybe help here. Work in a garage that sees a lot of 4 wheelers come and go, most of them are straight off of the farms and race tracks and are pretty damn beat up... seriously abused some of them There's three 4 wheelers that really stand out, KTM 525, Arctic Cat 500efi and Polaris outlaw 525. All three seem to be tough as hell and just tank on. Also these three seem to be very good at withstanding rust, the Arctic Cats have very thick round metal chassis so mud and water don't build up and the paint seems to be very high quality too because they're never peeling off like Can ams ans Polaris sportsmans do.
Nice to know, I picked up a new Alterra 600 Ltd. I don't put many miles on mine, basically have it to push snow, and drag deer. My last one was a used 08 700 Arctic cat, and that thing did me well. But I really wanted a new one and power steering. Looking to move once i find a decent piece of land. Then the fun will start.
Get the Polaris,,, especially if you like buying parts, battery's , it over heats on hot days if you're rock crawling too. Love taking it into the shop, those mechanics are great to talk to. and Cheap!... Oh and I always keep a tow rope so my 2003 650 rincon can tow home my 2022 570 sportsman premium, along with any other Polaris I come across. Yea my Polaris is great for the wife, power steering, EFI, great suspension ...when it runs! Buy a Honda or make sure you ride with a group of Mechanics!
You want a polaris best bang for your buck is the 850 i have one and love it. Recently, I got a 570 as well, and the belt box exhaust and intake are in a horrible location. If you go over the floor boards, you get wet belt issues, and nothing is greasable. 850 you can grease and knock on wood. I've never had an issue in the 3 years I've owned it
Got a brand new Grizzly a month ago and couldn't be happier. Perfect amount of power for a wheeler yet very light and still retains the Japanese design and build quality. Polaris has very poor design and build/part quality on wheelers, you WILL be constantly fixing it.
You clearly don't do much water riding then buddy lol. I've had 4 Polaris Sportsman ATV's. Most recently a 2018 Sportsman 850 SP. And you can barely go above the floorboards without them fk'ing up and stalling. Of the 4 I've had, 2 were absolute lemons. Sure the power/acceleration is exhilarating but it spent more time in the shop eating up more of my money than just being able to ride it. I sold that POS and now have a 2020 Rubicon DCT EPS Deluxe. And yeah, the power ain't what I'm used to, but I'm happy that whenever I want to ride it, it works with no issues. And I can take that thing as deep as I want so far with NO ISSUES. Not snorkeled one bit. I've had Yamaha Grizzly EPS as well and I'm eventually going to buy a 700 EPS again to go a long with my Rubicon. I wish Yamaha would make a bigger Grizz.
I quit doing mud and water a while back. It adds a lot of cost into your 4 wheeler riding. Tears up everything. (Even a Honda) that’s kind of what I’m trying to say though. I want a Polaris to go with the Honda. I will always have a Honda so that I’ll have something that will always work
I just bought a 2022 Grizzly 700, it's been great! Have about 200 miles on it so far and have no regrets. My friend has the Rubicon, and I almost bought one, but last second I decided I wanted something different
Ive been riding the exact same 1985 Honda four wheeler for the last 17 years and its perfect and i have no intention of getting rid of it. This dude rode his 2020 four wheeler for a year and a half and he is already complaining that he is tired of it and wants something new. Sounds like the issue is this dude and not the four wheeler.
…exactly the reason I’m attracted to Honda! Stupid reason not to buy another one, like it’s Honda’s fault and the misled you. New innovation doesn’t equate to proven reliability…if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
They do work. They just need change. Technically the 300 worked perfectly to but I still prefer a 520 over a 300. So whatever they do. I’m sure it would be an upgrade.
It’s already been said but you just can’t beat Honda reliability, longevity and build quality. If you get sucked in to things like screen size and gizmos you will find it and sacrifice quality. Polaris has great features and design but oh man, they just don’t last. I had one Polaris quad and noticed so many parts stamped, :Made in China. Great machines for light use and 3 good years. Can-Am is cutting edge technology and build but have to be brought to dealer only for any repairs and check engine light is frequently on because of all the sensors. Yamaha’s are well made also. I see that Argo now has ATV’s…I wonder how they are?
If they're all the same why did you keep buying new ones? You guys that gotta have the new stuff, shake my head. It keeps driving the price up, having to have a bunch of extra useless features. You should see the places we went with late 90's quads, had to know how to ride though.
Oh boy, you're gonna regret it. I've had all major brands, nothing as bad as Canam and Polaris. Something broke off my Polaris every time I took it out.
Some ( people ) don’t appreciate reliability when it stares at them for years, innovation is good but it does come with time to work kinks out.. I’ve lived long enough to realize they are products with reliability that has evolved made with cheaper materials thus not lasting with reliability because manufacturers realize d their sales numbers could be better if they engineered somewhat life expectancy to their products..ever heard the saying “They don’t make them like they used to “ ?..if not then you really don’t appreciate reliability my freind…😳
Honda needs a true big bore. The Rincon is a joke at this point and I'm sorry Honda raising the price of the Rubicon to being the same price as everyone else's big bore is a non starter.
@@JacobOverman the problem is they're still using that slug of an engine in the Pioneer 700. Which makes me think they don't plan on ever making a new competitive big bore.
Nothing. If you flipped in running. Maybe check for oil in air box. If there is a lot. Drain it out and then check oil level. As far as anything else I wouldn’t worry. I flip mine on purpose to drain my cooler
I know with living In Montana you need something that can handle the terrain, I know the brute force hasn’t changed much, but if you ride one, you might change your mind
I will take reliability over looks 100% of the time one thing about a Honda if it's not broke don't change it. I have seen Hondas take a beating and keep on ticking where the other crawl under rocks and give up or more less tear up.
Hey man buy whatever rows your boat I sold my rancher for a can am 1000 then 3 Suzuki kingquad 750 and now a grizzly 700. Polaris is alright just gonna tell you a 570 sportsman would be the worst mistake… total junk…there quality isn’t so hot but there side by sides are decent I guess
Well I haven’t made any firm decision yet, also no clue when it’ll be. A lot could change between then and now. Currently. The looks solely have me sold on the Polaris. I guess I’ll find out if they are junk. Around here where I live now. I no longer ride in any mud. It would probably do fine as long as is saved the Honda for all the hard work. Also, thanks for being a long time subscriber. I see you comment on a lot of videos.
I have a 2020 grizzly very nice machine 5k miles minor issues i drive it pretty hard im thinking of getting a pioneer just to be more comfortable on longer drives
I have two Can-Am’s and I will trade both of them in for the reliability of a Honda or a Yamaha. A past the point of being young and dumb so I don’t need something that has that much power that constantly is broken
Have you contacted Honda and suggested changes to the design? Not just this spoiled "I'm bored!" crap, but changes that make sense, improve the ride, performance, or reliability? You clearly don't take care of the one you have, yet it still works. That's extraordinary value, and it's hard to come by. Maybe you should add a huge plywood wing to the back & purple ditch lights. No ATV comes with that.
Let me just preface this w…This isn’t a comment for anyone specifically..Take care of your machine and it’ll take care of you…its that simple..every single brand has their issues so everyone claiming one or the other should chill..just enjoy them ffs
@@JacobOverman Yea I would I would say pick one that fits your style of riding..They’re two dif wheelers meant for two dif types of riding…Both have there own issues w maintaining and manufacturing, like any brand…All this brand loyalty is simply opinion..And mine is that if you take care of your machine and ride it the way it was intended, it’ll take care of you..100%..I would say get the machine that makes you happy!..I personally looked a a can am 850 before I bought my 23 850 Ultimate Trail and I loved the way the can am looked but, I could justify it because I live here in New England and mudding just isn’t a big thing here and even if it was, it’s not my style of riding..I chose my Polaris 850 camo and couldn’t be happier!! If I could send pics I would but I absolutely love it!! You wouldn’t be disappointed..Take that for what it’s worth, that’s just my opinion and experience with Polaris..I had a 22 570 Ultimate Trail Limited Edition and loved that too..just needed more power 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻😁
Honda cannot be beat for reliability and durability . you may out perform one, but you won't outlast/outlive a Honda Belts suck and horsepower is cool till something goes wrong and I'd rather ride than deal with problems cuz I'm not rich with money to throw away or time to waste with anything that can't match Honda dependability
Literally dogging on a bike that you’ve obviously liked for years over minor issues and “looks” if you were truly tired of the look you wouldn’t of bought a second one let alone 3rd and 4th obviously Hondas design is timeless.
I get what your saying but change isn't always good. Changes always introduce new problems and possible unreliability and that's not what Hondas about. Its tried and true built for work. Try a grizzly 700.
My first bike was a 1982 185s three wheeler. There is no better quality than Honda atv. I now have a 2005 foreman. I won't buy anything else. You want gadgets and speed.
Were I ride I can be more than 100 miles from my truck. Were if I had to walk out it would take days. Cuz nobody is around so reliability is by far an away the most important thing to me. Looks an minor things like the display are at the bottom. No wait they don't even qualify to be on a list.
low on inovation? This could be the worst reason what so ever to change in a workhorse. i know 4 people that had honda ATV since the 90s and all works like a charm. and i know 2 with polaris that is pure trash.
I was looking to maybe downsize from my can-am for some honda reliability.. then I saw how painfully slow that thing is… lmao… that looks like it plows the driveway and pulls a garden cart around pretty well.
Polaris needs gimmicks to attract buyers and style changes so people forget that the one they had 4 years ago was junk but hey this one looks different so it's obviously 😉 not the same old turd wrapped in new plastic. If you truly enjoy long nature walks then Polaris and CanAm are for you . If you enjoy the boring repetition of never worrying about what's under your az , stick with honda 😉
