Hm Ria, this housing thing. I even avoided Dublin because of this housing issue. I’m going to limerick and it’s bad there especially for newcomers. I would just advise that you do student accommodation if you can at first before you move to another house when your rent is over. Also about it being boring, I want to live a low profile lifestyle 🤣, living in Lagos all my life has made me exhausted and I just want to live a quiet life.

Exactly! Either she's never been here long enough or she just doesn't know where to look for things to do. Been here in Ireland for 6 years and there are always things going on every month from sports, music to arts! There are tons of clubs one can join that suits one's interest.

I am a german national I have got a job in Ireland to move this July. I am bamboozled seeing the housing crisis! I met 3-4 people who have posted hotel photos and telling they live in any other country and offering me the place while paying them a big holding price! #concerned 😢

Best advice there would be to try and get short stays either a hotel or a bnb so that you can get where to stay once you arrive and then you can start the proper house hunt. Websites you can search include: hostingpower.ie and booking.com Hope this helps!

Ireland is full. I dont understand you not doing research. For centuries the Irish themselves emigrate out of Ireland to make room for the next generation. We spring clean regularly so as NOT to over populate. We are all over America...Canada...Australia...ect. Why would you think YOU cant get what the natives get. Its only rich for the RICH people and ordinary citizens taxed at 40% with high rents to deal with and prices will NEVER go back down because most of the useless politicians are landlords themselves so no chance of them giving up their properties…and dont get me started on the dole!! U lose ur job theyll make it look like theyre doing you a favour giving you the dole even though you spent TWO decades paying into it… and btw im here over 30 years so ive seen all the changes..

I live in south africa and everything else is relatable besides have nothing to do. It's not boring here. Housing, rent, grocery, transaportation and electricity are expensive. The weather here is unpredictable but in summer it gets too hot and winter gets really cold. It's a global crisis. Accomodation is not cheap regardless which part of the world you live. For as long as you want a good place to stay.

I lived in Ireland, UK and Canada. I can guarantee you I hate Ireland more. Canada is the plug tbough far from Africa. Big houses, life more relaxed. Clean houses.

There is so much to do in Ireland. There is every type of sport. We are in the ladies World Cup in Australia now. Every park has Tennis Courts. Every has Tennis Clubs. We have GAA clubs everywhere for kids, women and men. We have all sorts Higher Levels colleges where you can study everything. Our climate is not very cold. Go live in Northern Europe for cold winter's. Cost of Living is expensive like all European countries. But the benefits outweigh the negatives. I think you are too negative of my country Ireland.

So I joined Fb Irish groups and they all told me to avoid Ireland because it’s Africa. At first I thought they wr just racist and lying but Every time i look up Ireland I realise it’s Africa/Afghanistan. I’m Hispanic but don’t want to live amongst Africans/Asians/Hispanic. I wanted to move to Ireland to experience IRISH culture but it’s so sad that so many immigrants are there that it’s no longer Ireland 😢 the country really has deteriorated 😢 it makes sense why so many Irish blooded people would rather live illegally in the US.

@@NurseSnow2U Are you aware about 10 million Irish citizens emigrated to other parts of the world and up till now they are still emigrating? Over 64,000 Irish emigrated from Ireland in the year 2023. There are about 31 million Irish decents in USA. I haven't even added UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and other parts of EU. As at now some Irish are even emigrating to Asia.(Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia) If Ireland is developed as they say, let all of them return to the Island.

Citizens are given what you see as “privileges” as a birthright because their parents and they themselves have paid into a system via taxes….how can you expect others to accept you being 1st in line to a system you’ve not paid in to. Does that make sense? Because it’s exactly what’s happening here in the US. Life is not TV and Hollywood.
