Hope you all enjoy today's video, and if you need a written version, please check out the link to my blog post here! simplybychristine.com/journal/2021/why-i-began-living-sustainably Do note that the plastic bottle/plastic pieces were used as props for illustrating my packaging studies (there seems to be some potential confusion there). We should always strive to go for a reusable option if we can!

Hi, Christine 👋🏼 Thank you for sharing this! Watching this video like self reflecting and I can relate 100%. I'm a final year student of Management with concentration Operation & Supply Chain too! I used to think that business is about profit, efficiency, etc until I was in Ethical Business class and knew CSR, triple bottom line (or many called 3P) and learned about it. I was so devastated and guilty at the same time. Business can be so much more than money. Today, I'm trying to be more aware and be responsible with what I consume. It's really hard because people around me don't really have the similar initiatives and most of daily goods here are wrapped by plastics. I'd like to know how do you urge people around you to do the same? I hope you stay healthy and have a nice week! Regards from Indonesia 🇮🇩

one thing which shocked us here in France( and many people from other parts of the world I'm sure) was how many americans actually used single-use plastic plates and cutlery just not to wash dishes and that some family didn't even own regular ceramic dinnerware...i hope your videos touch more people who live in "civilised industrialised countries". I was so happy to see during my commutes to work by train, we have those little tv screens where they had taken upon themselves to educate people through videos (instead of commercials) on zero waste living with tips and tricks, how to start and addresses that are helpful. Thanks for sharing.

Food for thought. So true, we must be mindful of our planet and what we are doing to it with so much plastic and waste. 😔 thank you for sharing 🕊🙏🏻💕

This is amazing. 1. don't be afraid to question your reality and 2. you/I can be a change-maker. Also: amazing that you realized that the work you so should also align with your values, not only with money.

The information on the United States’s consumption is mad, I didn’t know. I live in France but I am not sure we are the best example as well so that is why I am on a minimalist and zero waste journey, hopeful to have a positive impact on the world. Your videos are calming and very inspiring, you are only saying what’s needed, no artificial information, thank you.

Thank you Honorine (: the US is a stark contrast compared to the rest of the world - usually, Australia comes in second with consumption, but I know from experience that when I travel to other countries, it's so different.

I started watching your videos from the very beginning when you used to have a green hedge as your background. I’ve enjoyed it then and am very supportive of your simple and sustainable approach to life. I hope you will continue to advocate simple living and sustainability to create an awareness of the importance of not only taking care of ourselves, but of each other and our planet.

I saw a video on fast fashion and I felt like crying! So many clothes going to waste and distrying our already ill environment! Since then, I pay more attention to what I am buying and I definitely buy less. I now prefer second hand clothes (a trend very popular in U.K but unfortunately not so popular in Italy where I now live).

Christine, you're a gifted storyteller which is why I expect most viewers watch until the end. That's key when trying to deliver a message that people will remember. Plastic consumption is all a balance since I don't think any of us can truly avoid all plastics (like the plastic keys on the keyboard of the MacBook I'm typing on as we speak) but we can certainly carefully consider the plastics we value and use for several years and the plastics that are immediately discarded (like packaging). Every time I say no to a plastic bag I tell the cashier that I'm trying to save the planet. Being mindful of our choices will make all the difference. Thank you for continuing to produce such quality content here on RU-vid. xo Enza

I love how you put it in a humble way that is encouraging for a beginner like me, that such lifestyle takes time and we can do it slowly step by step so long we are mindful. Your book is also amazing! Im halfway through it. Keep doing what you are doing and I hope you can continue to share as well! ♥️

Thank you, Christine, what a wonderful video for anyone new to a low impact lifestyle. I am much more in tune with what I buy because of how (or if) I can recycle and/or upcycle its packaging. I use to buy Aveda shampoo and conditioner, but even though they are eco-friendly to a small degree, I ended up with so many extra, plastic bottles and pumps. Recently, I have changed to HiBar hair products that arrive in biodegradable cardboard and because both shampoo and conditioner are molded to be hand held, no waste. Yes, I do spend more money on these products, but I see it as an investment in reducing my footprint. Anymore videos regarding packaging in the works? I would watch.

How have you been able to influence fellow Christians in your journey? I live in KY and so many believers here see the earth as a resource that we can use and abuse as a gift, not something we must care for and protect.

Christine, what would you say your most recent “purchase for the sheer fun or luxury of it”? Or, have you completely eradicated this concept in your lifestyle? Hahaha. Yay! I find that this is one area where clutter is coming from personally especially this pandemic.
