Just MY opinions on why I think the Frontier is better than the Tacoma. Again, some of this is subjective so don’t take it personal. Both trucks are awesome and they both have their pros and cons, but this is just explaining why I chose the Frontier over the Tacoma.

I’ve owned my 2022 Frontier for about a year and a half now and I agree. I love the truck. The old-school tech was a big selling point. The truck feels way better built than my buddies 2020 Tundra. I know that’s sacrilege but it’s true. The Tundra has a thin, hollow feel to it. In comparison, the Frontier feels solid and substantial.

As a Toyota tech. I will 100% take the new updated titan and frontier over the Tacoma and tundra. Nissan gets a bad rep because of their passenger cars. Their sports cars and trucks are amazing. You can find 2023 titan Pro4x with 5K miles rn for 45k in Alabama and a few other places I saw similar listing. The frontier is the perfect balance between new tech and old school rugged traditional style trucks. The VQ engine has been around since 2002 in the pathfinder, very refined engine. I will be looking to grab a black Pro4x with leather interior for 35k with under 50k miles soon. Toyota messed up really bad and this is Nissan’s opportunity to pounce, if I was Nissan I would put an updated back up camera in the frontier, add a halo type trim(maybe make the frontier warrior concept they released a few years back. I mean hell bring back the manual trans.

Absolutely correct on the Titan. I got a 2022 Titan Pro-4x in October with only 4000 miles for 44750. Awesome truck but my mistake was trading my 2022 Frontier S crew RWD. I bought it brand new for $28,000 in 2022 and traded it for around $27,000 with 10,000 miles. The MPG was insane, I was getting close to 30 MPG in that Base Frontier.

@burner929 24 дня назад
@@johnmcdonald5636 Its been great, fuel is about 20-24 mpg. The v6 sounds great, the off the line speed is slow but enough to get the tires screaming. Shifts smooth does not feel like it's looking for gears at all. The fender sound system is needed if you listen to music alot I did not get the tech package. So I don't have it. But with a few adjustments is its fine. Storage is bad, Im about to buy a larger under seat storage add-on. Screen is bright and you can really customize how you like it. I got a Pro 4x also and the ride is still a truck feeling but doest beat you up at all. Turn radius is that of a much larger truck. I had an easier turn in a ram 1500. But that does't bother me. Build quality is Rather high Nothing feels cheap or moves, makes noise or feels out of place. The hydraulic steering is something to get used to, I came form a Ford fusion which is using drive by wire for everything. This truck is hydraulic everything so bit of an adjustment. I'm happy with what I bought, Plus the deanship did not have the truck marked up 5k, and I have an extra 200k powertrain warranty from them.

@@johnwayneasgenghiskhan4699 I typed out a response but RU-vid did not save it. Long story shot, it rides great, feels like a truck but does not beat you up like I felt in a tacoma or a f150. Gas is fantastic 20-24 mpgs, sound system is OK. Get the fender add-on if yo love music. IT needs more storage, But there are add-ons for 100ish bucks so not an issue. The build quality is better than any car I have ever owned. I have had a 2015 jeep trail hawk 2020 ford fusion se and 2016 mustang For references. It does not rattle, moan or feel lose. The seats are good, supportive and soft at the same time. To BE FAIR I'm 5'7 163 so I fit well if you 6ft or taller as long as your slender your good if you are built They might be a tad small you will need to test that. I 'm stalled by Full-size seats. The inside is clean and feels like a truck with out losing the fit and finish of a higher trim. The engine sounds great, the torque is enough to get the tires lose and get you moving. But does feel low For day to day not an issue, it does not have the right to feel as good as it does on the highway. I did not get the Tech package so I can't speak to the add-ons there. The hydraulic brakes and steering feel good, but take a moment to get used to. Turn radius is middle of the road, a Ram 1500 turns better. Overall BANG FOR BUCK IS There.

I'm going to be commenting while following along with your video man.. On the, "Everyone and their mom has a Tacoma": I agree with you 100%!! All I see on the road are Tacomas, and yeah they are dope, and yeah I'm a huge Toyota fan, but they're all I see on the road lol. I own a 2006 Tacoma 4x4 TRD Off road, while I love it so much, it's not because its a Taco, but because it was my grandpa's truck when he was still alive. I love the truck and am thankful to have such a reliable truck, but if I never had the Taco, I would've gone with the new frontier 110%. N/A engines vs turbos: I agree with you, but coming from a very basic DIY mechanic guy, I don't want to deal with turbos putting a lot of unnecessary stress on my engine. Reliability of Nissan/Why you chose the Frontier: My wife and I own an 2010 Xterra 4x4 also. I love this truck, it's super reliable, and we haven't had anything break on it yet besides the rear leaf pack breaking but that was because it was out from the east coast lol, so it was pretty rusty. The frontier: Dude my dream would have to be to get the Sand (light brown) color, love that color. The price, yeah it sucks, but the way I see it, if you want something loaded with goodies, the Frontier has a lot going on for the price. I just like the Frontiers, because they're a TRUCK. No fancy bs attached.

@@richarde1355the Tacoma V6 comes in at 275 HP, while the 2023-24 Frontier comes standard with a 310 HP V6. Better torque and towing capacity. Stop already with the “we know Toyota has too tear reliability, it’s just not true that Toyota has better reliability than Nissan. I’ve worked at both dealerships and on both manufacturers cars for years. I don’t understand why people keep just saying this without any proof. It’s funny that you don’t hear about all the engines blowing up on Toyota from the slug problems late 97 until 2007, and the engines from 2016 until now. Nissan doesn’t have engine blowing like that. Then there’s the Toyota rusting frames on the 4Runner, Tocoma, and Tundra…etc. why is it that the Toyota reliability issue always get passed over? I have a 2001 Nissan Xterra I’ve owned for 23 years I’ve put 447,453 miles on it. I replaced the starter at 303k all powertrain is OE and power windows all original. It’s lasted better than any Toyota I’ve seen or worked on. So stop it! Toyotas are good but no better than Nissan in reliability.

I’ve had my ‘23 Pro4x for a year and a half now and 22k miles on it. Not a single issue and love the drive. My complaints were similar, terrible cameras, wish all windows were auto instead of only the driver, annoyed they there isn’t seat memory presets. Biggest wish is a 6 foot bed option. Minor stuff. I put the Nismo 1.5 inch lift on it and it looks and feels great. Slowly building it into an overlander for some offroad, but we don’t have anything too wild in Minnesota. Wow! You mentioned you heard a creaking noise in the back of your frontier. I had the same issue when I had mine. Mine was a 2017 pro X frontier it worked great except for that issue you mentioned and I hydraulic system locked up in the steering wheel and I found out they put the item on upside down or whatever, anyway they change it no problem but the power and the other factors of it like the stereo system and all the other tidbits were great. Currently now I have a 2023 Tacoma lime green naturally aspirated daily driver. It’s doing well. I will drive the Hilex instead of the Tacoma fourth GEN if I had the option.

That noise isn't from your leaf springs it may sound like it is but it's coming from your front axle inside the hub. There is a repair that Nissan does that uses Molly lube on the axle shaft and that goes into the front bearings. No need to remove it just put Molly lube on the front and rear of the axle shaft outer portion once you remove the axle retaining nut. This will resolve the noise issue.

The Auto-Shutoff in my F150 is also controllable with the brake pedal. Perhaps Nissan is the same? When I come to a stop and hold the brake lightly the auto shutoff won’t engage. When I press more firmly it will engage. The engine turns back on as I lift off the brake, not as I press the accelerator. Maybe Nissans operate in a similar fashion?

I traded in my 2003 Tundra on a brand new 2022 Frontier. As a Toyota loyalist, Toyota lost me as a customer. Turbo engines are an *immediate* dealbreaker. No space shuttle miles for those engines. Also, the styling of the new Tundra and the new Tacoma is terrible. They’re overwrought, hyper-masculine, cartoonish bro-dozers. They’ve become silly caricatures of themselves. The Frontier has an NA V6, sensible styling, and is fairly priced. It’s quiet, rides well, and the drivetrain is a gem. $39K OTD for a loaded long wheelbase SV.

For the creak you're hearing in the back... check all your mounts for the bed, hangars for exhaust, and bushings in general. I don't think it'd be the springs... it's most likely a rubber part that got some dirt in it and articulated and tore itself, a boot, or something got stretched/rubbed/loosened.

I have a 21 Titan Pro-4X and I absolutely love it. I don't have the auto start/stop and that was one of the reasons I chose it. The only complaint I have is that you have to turn off the collision avoidance in the rear whenever you are towing something. There is no way to turn it off permanently and it drives me insane because I tow multiple boats and trailers and am apparently too dumb to remember to turn it off every time. I shouldn't have to though. Plug in a trailer and it turns it off. Seems pretty easy to me. I got mine fully loaded brand new for $46k. The sticker is much higher but they always have tons of incentives which brings it way down. None of the other brands were anywhere close and most were easily $20k or more, especially when adding in the technology you get with the Titan vs Ford/Dodge/Toyota/GM. I mean, to get push start in a Tundra at the time was over $60k easily and still didn't have the tech I get with the Titan (even though I don't know how to use most of it. LOL). Oh, one more complaint, the reverse lights are horrible on the Titan so you really need to back up camera in the dark. I have been contemplating adding in some LED back up lights into the bumper but have not done so yet. I have heard that Nissan is doing away with the Titan and that would be a real shame.

Last year I went round and round between the Frontier and Tacoma. I was leaving Jeep and wanted a truck, but did not want a full size truck. My neighbor has the previous model Frontier. I decided on the Tacoma TRD Offroad over the Frontier. I knew there were complaints with engine and transmission combo but when I test drove it, I didn't feel any of the issues others were complaining about. HOWEVER, now that I have 5,000 miles on it, I feel the issues they complained about. The transmission shifts like total crap. Trying to maintain 25mph on some streets will have the truck hunting up and down through the gear range. It downshifts hard. In city driving, I have to use the ECT button to keep the RPMs up and lock out the 6th gear. I am not thrilled with this truck.
