Why I bought an Indian Roadmaster Classic

As a late release in 2017, and then discontinued in 2018, the Roadmaster Classic is Indian's most limited production motorcycle under Polaris ownership. This iconic Indian Red and Cream two-tone was only offered on the Roadmaster Classic in 2017. With it's abundant quantity of beautiful tan leather, and all modern touring motorcycle features, this motorcycle stands out as something certainly a bit different from the pack. In this video from Ridge Roamer, I explain why I bought a used 2017 Indian Roadmaster Classic, review a few upgrades already done, and some of my plans for the future.

Gorgeous bike! I just purchased a 2016 Chief Vintage with 686 miles on it. When I took it for a test ride, I knew that I had to have it. The bike is balanced nicely, and that 111 has a lot of power!

I ride a 2016 Indian Roadmaster. Love it! My bike has hard lockable luggage and side bags and I prefer these over the leather.

I also have a 2017 roadmaster classic red and cream. Love it 28k on it so far, People will comment on the bike all the time. It's a nice feeling to ride a bike that only a few of us have. If you find out how many they made please let me know. Thanks Enjoy

I want this bike so very much. Exactly what I've been searching for in every way. If only I could find one like you did! I'd go anywhere in North America to get it. You are one lucky son of a gun. Congrats on an awesome purchase.

I have the same stage I setup on my 2019 Springfield. I thinks it's the best combo for sound and gas mileage without having to get into finnicky fuel managers.

Just sold my 2016 Roadmaster yesterday. It was a magnificent cruiser, but I felt it needed 116 power, as well as the touchscreen which was available from 2017. All black, flawless and only 5300 miles it was hard to give up, a beautiful machine. It had stage one and the upgraded floorboards, which are worth the money! I got 15K trade allowance on a 2021 Triumph Rocket 3 GT. The 2021 Indian Challenger in my garage will have to help cover the bases. Maintain your leather! Rain ain't kind to those nice bags.

What a shame polaris has discontinued this classic version. For me this was their most beautiful creation, especially the willowgreen/ivorycream version. I would repaint the bike not the hardbags of your chief :-)

I had the green and cream Vintage for over 5 years, so it has been a nice change. I love both color schemes (though probably the green a bit more)

Hello, one more question. Did you buy water proof liners for the saddle bags and if so what brand were they. Finding many liners out there but none specific to the Indian Bags!

I bought the medallion on ebay a long time ago, just the right diameter to replace the Indian button inside the horn cover.

What do you do about rain on the leather? I’m buying one of these

It will get wet, but then it will dry. Every once in a while, treat with leather conditioner.

I've owned an 18' Roadmaster..they r awesome!!.. Unfortunately I crashed it in late 2019'..totaled..maybe in the future!!..Ride Safe..😀

I still have the Vintage, but I plan to sell it. At least that's what I keep telling myself as justification for buying the Roadmaster Classic! I love them both!

Grab a classic while you can, it looks like Indian is moving away from the valanced fenders.
