It's not your father's volunteer fire service!
Are you interested in an exciting volunteer opportunity with great training, flexible schedule, and a team environment? Volunteer fire and emergency services departments across North America are looking for qualified, inclusive, diverse and safety-conscious people, who are compassionate, caring and committed to the well-being of their community and their citizens. Does this speak to who you are and the kind of difference you want to make?
Thanks to Grammy winning artists Cee Lo Green and Bruno Mars, Motorola Solutions Foundation, Tyco, Scott Safety, and PBI Performance Products Inc. this eight-minute "Why I Chose Fire: Next Generation" video will let you hear directly from diverse volunteer firefighters and emergency responders across the country about why they absolutely love what they do.

As a Chief of a large, suburban volunteer fire department, I can say that I am honestly proud to have each and everyone of you working with us, at something you love. You are the future! And the future is in good hands with folks like you. Thank you for stepping up to help us. But more importantly, for stepping up to help your community … and yourselves!

My life is about to change tomorrow night. I'm 45 years old and I'm being voted in as a probationary Call Volunteer Firefighter for Lake Mischnok Fire Department in Rhode Island. I don't have enough words to describe my gratitude. I've been in the trades for almost 30 years 22 of them as a carpenter. Tomorrow night i"ll empty my cup so it can filled by my fellow Brother and Sister Firefighters knowledge so it can be passed down to me. 4 and half years ago I was almost killed on my motorcycle cutoff hit dead on at 50 mph thrown 30 feet my motorcycle, my Harley totaled. I count my blessings everyday; being a firefighter is the greatest blessing that has ever happened in my life🇱🇷 ONE TEAM ONE FIGHT ALL THE WAY!

My father and I served on the same small rural department for close to 20 years before he became too old to physically do it any longer. He did it for almost 40 years and so did I. Sadly I was the last department fire chief and had to close it down and sell the equipment. It seems that the younger generation is more interested in sitting around with their video games than helping their neighbors, and I say "shame on them".

Thanks for the video content! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would love your thoughts. Have you considered - Rozardner Lucky Interview Reality (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing exclusive guide for firefighter interview tips minus the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my cousin after a lifetime of fighting got amazing results with it.

Awesome video & Great message, I was a 2nd Gen vol FF.....I'm curious, why did you film most of the active fire scene in Baltimore Co, at their fire academy but you didn't have anyone from a Balt Co fire station, seeing that BCoFD has 75% volunteer FF's?? Just curious, but like I said amazing vid & outstanding message.
