I mostly chose Stanford for the weather. Academically, I don't think you can go wrong either way. Nobody is going to choose somebody over another person because they either went to Harvard or Stanford. They're both excellent schools. But when I visited Harvard, it was winter and I think there was a blizzard. It was 65 at Stanford. That was the deciding factor for me. But let's be real, for somebody like you, you're going to be successful wherever you decide. You're an inspiration to us all.

I think in the end people need to evaluate why they’re picking the school they are picking if they are privileged enough to have gotten into some of the worlds best universities. I personally think when it comes to STEM I would pick Stanford over Harvard in a heart beat given their primary location near silicon valley and their strong ties to other tech organizations outside of california. If I was more humanities focused I would choose Harvard for its strong connections to DC and it’s proximity to boston and some of the worlds best law firms. In general tho I think it’s important ppl stop caring so much for the name and start making a decision based off their own ambitions and passions. I know so many people who chose stanford because they wouldn’t be happy in Boston weather and they got shamed for their choice, despite the fact that academically choosing one over the other does not come with any significant loss.
