Finally, someone is talking about Canton Speakers. I bought mine on specs from Germany. I paired mine with two SVS subs in a 7.2. You are dead on! Nice wide dispersion on L and R front could not be happier!
Hi, in 1989 I bought the Canton CT100 speakers. I sold them in 2010, and tried all well known other brands/types, but none could match the Cantons. I am going to buy a pair of Canton Vento speakers!
well done, Canton are really popular here in Montreal great quality they must sound amazing! Love the white, speaking of Paradigm i may go with this later on looking on the prestige series
Yeah exactly I was gonna Say that probably Canton Vento is comparable to Paradigm prestige :) similar looks for the woofers too. I have Heard the whole system of Paradigm prestige especially with the 95f top of the Line towers and the huge centre... Just amazing!!!
@@Kpaceguy i didn,t hear the prestige 95f as stereo unfortunately because my Friend connect Them into a 13.2 system haha... Next time I Will ask him to let me listen to some songs onky with the 95f playing. Right now i,m waiting for a pair of elac fs 207.2 with their famous Jet III tweeters. :))) Deutsche Qualität mein Freund :)
I had an canton 5.1 system 20 years ago. It was pretty amazing. In my opinion the two best audio companies in Germany are Nubert and Canton. Best Regards
Happy to see canton review in English,, how is the bass with towers? Does it really go to 20hz ? Do we really need a sub for 5.1? Coz i hate boomy bass from subs.
I bought the canton smart vento 3 bookshelf first and my plan was to have them only for a long long time without upgradi g to the floorstanders but man after listening to them i was blown away by tve sound i got from them that i bought the floorstanders when i had saved enough money. They are just my dream speakers. I know many people dont prefer active but they gave me enough happiness to all of my music whether it is loud or low volume. Im glad to finally hear someone review them because like you said there isnt much reviews out there even with audiophile youtubers which is sad. Your experience with these was the same for me when i first heard them
Sounds like you are hearing what some audiophiles have learned through experience. That is, it's best to buy speakers that are tailored towards 2 channel audio, but also have a matching center channel. 2 channel audio speakers tend to be much better made, more full range and have a better sound. Once you learn that lesson, you eventually learn to not buy subwoofers from speaker companies. Then you learn to stop buying, "boom, boom, rumble, rumble, shake, shake" noisy subwoofers and buy more sophisticated 2 channel audio based subs like REL that also perform well in home theater. You are right. There is not much out there on Canton speakers. The most prominent write ups being three Stereophile reviews of the Canton Vento 809 DC, Canton Reference 1 & Canton Reference 3.2. Maybe you can bring them some attention. Happy listening!
Really appreciate your reply! 🙏🏽 I just ordered the Martin Logans but now I’m going to cancel the order and get these. Would I be able to get the center channel for free too?
I own three sets of Cantons. Reference 9.2 and A45 Anniversary towers. I went through a bunch of brands. Got to my Dream Focal’s. Then heard the Canton Reference and knew they were for me.
It's a pity you don't live in Germany. By the way, here you can also get the reference series very cheap, which is even better than the Vento series. Furthermore, you can get the old "Ergo" speakers very cheap, which is also very expressive and above all evoke a fantastic bass. For example, you pay a maximum of 500 Euros for large Ergo speakers, which in my opinion surpasses every Klipsch Reference Line speaker.
German have several excellent speaker brands, yes Elac, but also Quadral, Teufel and some others more :) excellent review! Thanks I have a pair of Canton Gle 490. Very Nice Entry level speakers by Canton!
Wow very nice. I know the need for something great, but different. My speakers were not popular at all, but now I will never part with them. Your speakers are beautiful, and if they sound half as good as they look, then they sound amazing. I heard the brand before, they were always good. I love your channel. CHEERS!!! G.
Question for you...I'm considering these speakers as well but was wondering when your lights are out and screen is on how is the glare and reflection off those speakers being their glossy finish! Is it distracting?
You did infact choose the best in the world. I see your review is honest. Dynaudio evoke are up there, are they better than vento. I use dynaudio emit M30. You have a expensive set up. These speakers are not cheap. What avr and stereo brand you are using. I sm presuming they are hungry for power. Correct if I wrong.
I gave the cantons a try because of your video. I had to return them though. That ceramic/aluminum tweeter was too harsh for my ears and gave me a headache right away. The mid range and bass were amazing though. I really wish they would have worked out.
@@Kpaceguy like the treble knob? No, my ears just don't like aluminum tweeters for some reason. I thought because they were ceramic coated they would be better. They were worth trying out though. Thanks.
So true. US nor Canada knows about this brand. People are still fooled to buy some of non sense brand. Infact I moved from dynaudio to Canton speakers. Amazing sound stage and warm sound, very realistic clear sound. I have last years reference book shelf. What a speakers. Hooked up with Arcam avr850. Looking for reference central channel. Can you please help me. Like to buy used. Great review
@@jm-vq4cm I had emit 30 and heard evoke 30 which I was planning to buy. I knew back of my mind Canton could be better value for money. Sold my emit got reference 9.2 amazing speakers. Now looking for center channel, used . Hard to find. This was last years model.
Not this means much, since almost every speaker manufacture has moved production of everything but their TOTL reference line in China, but Canto has been manufacturing their speakers in China for a very long time. Much longer then KEF or JBL has been. Here is a picture of the original Vento from 2005. Note how it's the same, I have no doubt that this speaker measures the same as the original one from 2005. www.stereophile.com/images/archivesart/605canton1.jpg
Hi kspacace guy, I have 3 questions; 1. Do the ventos go LOUD 2. do they really hit the 20hz mentioned on the manufacturers website? 3. How tight and well defined is the bass?
@@KpaceguyI was flirting with the Quad S5 until I saw you. Im doubting the dynamic capabilities of them.😔Thanks to you Im putting the Ventos on top of my list. Gotta start some serious saving now😅.
@@Kpaceguy i have wondered if it really hits 20hz,, coz I couldn’t find any other tower going this low, and i dont like bass from subwoofer which is not tight.
Well as a Polk LSIM 707,706 owner what I want is for you to say you had second thoughts and does anyone have the 707s for sale---LOL. just kidding. Cant wait to hear a review of my future speaker upgrade.
There will always be better speakers out there, as a owner of whole lsim series, i find it hard to believe that these speakers are twice as better for twice the price.
Try "One stormy night" by Mystic Moods and see if the train goes from left to right as though it's coming through your room (in pure direct). On mine you would swear there is a train in your house!! Plus - you can actually hear the raindrops and the thunder sounds like it is a real storm outside! Try it - I don't think you'll be disappointed!
I just upgraded my old Cantons. Should get my new stuff tomorrow. I got the chrono 596.2 with free center. Running a very similar setup monolith 7x with anthem mrx720. Also have a set of AR500 atmos
Those are bad ass, congrats, I have and older model,Karat M-60dc which I got for $200 at an estate sale in mint condition cherry, gorgeous sound and looks, luv em,check em out , I have few vids, Peace 🙏
@@Kpaceguy Accessories4less seems to be selling overstock from the previous distribution group or is still undercutting direct from manufacturer and then there is SoundApproach selling at high margin, high marked up prices with over euro to dollar conversions.... do you think your able to reach out to the manufacturer direct and have them setup a US basic buy direct website with normal prices? You have created interest in this brand in a pretty closed market for them, they should want to support your channel further and get some sales.
@@cole147 i bought mine from accessories for less. Unfortunately i don't have a big enough following to make big of noise to be able to get something going like that
I've recently compared Klipsch and Kef with the canton vento 896 Dc. To sum up Klipsch and Kef haven't any chance. Especially the mids are phenomenal and the tweeter plays very detailed and smoothed. Klipsch isn't the company it once was because they were unfortunately taken over by audiovox.
I wanted to leave a comment a while ago but I forgot to sorry about that. I have just a few things I wanted to say. I'm very surprised you sold the Polk's for these. These are much more of a side grade then the Polk's. I don't think the build quality of these are better either. They weigh much less then the Polk's and their design isn't anything special or better. Why did you get white for your home theater? Light will reflect off too much. I think the differences in sound you are hearing are in your head. The tweeter on the Canton is not revolutionary as you think compared to the Polk. Sighted and biased listening is very much a thing. Glad you are happy with them. By the way check my YT channel I finally uploaded a video of my system.

The Vento is actually a very old design that Canto has been releasing since the mid 2000s. I know a little bit about this speaker. I have heard one in person. You are enamored of course since they are your shiny new toys but I am almost positive you will wind up selling these in a year or two to get something better. Because like I said, these are just a side grade from the Polks. I also think you are a bit confused on number specifications. Just because a speaker has a listed 350W power handling number does not mean it needs that much power. If you tried to fed 350W to this speaker you would blow up the tweeter. The only reason the speaker would want that much power is for playing a low frequency during a impedance dip, possibly with a high phase angle, which makes the epdr extremely low at times. I believe older Canto designs have a nasty combination at 100hz. I am actually familiar with Canton's older speakers and can tell you that they don't have the best engineers on hand and design by ear first rather then by measurement and science. Their cabinets have many, many vibrations and are quite lively, and because of the design have dips in their crossover points, that certainly will be audible. Canton speakers all have a midrange presence suckout that I don't care for. Secondly, the speaker is not actually able to output meaningful and useful information below 30hz, there are limits to what a 7" driver can do in a cabinet enclosure of this size. There's no replacement for displacement, and cone surface area is king. You own subwoofers, you should know this. So please, do not harp about this speaker going down to 20hz, Canton's specs are dumb and don't even include the -6dB dropoff point which any respectable manufacture should. In fact, after looking at Canton's product page for their Vento series, I am suspect of many of the specifications.
@@ryanschipp8513 THIS speaker in THIS video is $1500 each, look it up. 3 times the price as the latest Klipsch tower, bad comparison!! Guaranteed in a blind test, you couldn't tell the difference, except that the Canton is super bright
@@skolvikings5263 you are comical. You haven't a clue. The Canton Chrono lineup will beat out the Klipsch. Do your research mr. Know it all. You haven't heard both speaker lines yet you are running your mouth. The ceramic Tweeter in the Canton in this one of the most highly regarded tweeters in the world. They've been making speakers for 50 years, made in Germany. Obviously you are a Klipsch fanboy.
Now that you got the white Vento's, you should get a white glossy wrap for the SVS subs so everything can match. It will look cool. Take a look: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ao7Nw5HydJo.html
