dude your videos are truly inspiring and really make me want to go out and create something and your reactions to getting the shots make me so excited to film. im in a high school video production class and have my first "semi-serious" shoot in a few hours, so guys, please wish me luck that nothing goes wrong🤞
Your work is outstanding dude. I am still working hard in Davinci to get color dialed. It is one of my biggest challenges in film making. Keep rocking my friend!
💯 agree. If I don’t do weddings, I will definitely pick the pocket 6k pro as well even without IBIS, it still gives you a natural handheld look compared to Sony Fx3/7s3 with Ibis turn off and rigged the same. Plus the color 😍😍😍
Thanks a lot for this video! I agree with your thoughts and considerations. The 10 vs 12 bit is a thing and in my eyes makes quite a difference. After comparisons with the BMCC FF I ended up with my beloved A7SIII and recording ProRes RAW with a Atomos Shogun Ultra. Love the grain texture and color depth. And after transcoding to 5:1 CDNG it's almost the same size as the internal ALL-I codec files. That combined with the autofocus and IBIS makes it a beast of a camera. But hey, splitting hairs here...
Absolutely! The funny thing is that I did some All-I vs CDNG blind tests with my friends (exactly same frames). And 80% liked the All-I graded footage better 🙃Makes me wonder: are my RAW grading skills less developed or do people like the soft look of the interal codec more?
i was looking for the blackmagic cinema 6k these days as I feel the images you get is better. I'm on a Sony a7iii right now so that would be a great upgrade in terms of quality, but I also feel that the fact that it doesn't have an autofocus system will help me be a better operator as I will be force to use manual focus. this video came just in time! Great work as usual!keep it up!
@@lucapaluca8537 yep it is, but i want to be more flexible with the color grading 😁 and i dont want to rely on the af system, i want to learn more about mf instead😁
Love the gear breakdown! What kind of limitations do you experience using that portable haze machine? I'm interested but I can't imagine that being very useful in anything but a small/medium sized space.
Question: Does the Smoke Genie leave any residue in the room or sticky stuff. I have heard the one in the can that also does haze makes your rooms a mess with this oily sticky stuff and ruins your carpets. Let me know if yours does that or leaves anything other than fog in the air. Hopefully when it settles it wont leave that oily sticky stuff all over your chairs, tables, carpet, etc. Let me know how does this Smoke Genie is different than the rest…
Great video! What baseplate are you using for the rig? And what kind of plate is underneath? That's not a dovetail, right? And how would you compare the 6K FF against the 6K G2 or the 6K G2? I'm considering the 6K G2 over the other two, because the difference of the 6K Pro pretty much only is the built-in ND filter. The 6K FF is full-frame, which can be worth it, but I am not sure... Currently have a rigged out 4k (with ext battery, matte box and nd filters, ext monitor etc.) and I am also not sure if it is worth the upgrade. Thank you!
Hey. Just discovered your channel and you're helping me so much in my short film debut. I have one question I hope you can help me with. I'm shooting with my Sony a6300, I'm going to shoot mostly on SLog2, but I don't know which lut I should use, what do you think? Thanks anyway!
Amazing work man, your shots are so beautifully graded too. I'd love to see the full node tree and an overview of how you color graded your recent cinematic video🙏
Yikes! I realize you mentioned this, but those Samyang lenses really are pretty soft wide open...softer than I would like, so thanks for showing your results. Cheers!😁✌
I am sleeping on it because I love the FX3. IBIS and AF is important to me and the FX3 has wuality images with the right lighting you can shoot a full movie and you wouldnt know the difference. Thats what aeperates the pros from the newbs aka im a newb but i notice good work feom the newbs. I subscribed to your channel because i loved your FX3 stuff and the BMPC stuff you do i can still apply it to my FX3 because after all its the technique and the way we approach each shot and not the BMPC vs FX3 for me i dont care as long as they got 10bit or 12 its all good
Dfntly Slog 2 as that is 8 bit video camera, i strongly recommend to learn how to expose for highlights and shadows. Dfntly you can create more with the A7iii
normally i use cine4 ( pp6 as default ) to shoot most of my work. but when then light is under control in the environment, i will use Slog2 to shoot it like commercial work , MV & etc. Of cuz slog have the highest dynamic range which contain better colour & exposure info in ur footage. Most importantly, you just need practice how to properly expose on your footage and find a good angle to shoot it. and i suggest to watch more suyorukun hahaha so you get better and better 🙌🙌
There are SO many cameras you can buy. But if you are wanting a Black Magic, look into a regular Black Magic 4k. But its way more than just the camera. I know you probably know that.
0:44 This is because the blackmagic raw codec is not actually a real raw codec. It' partially debayered in-camera. It's like prores 4444 with additional metadata. If you've ever worked with a real compressed or uncompressed raw like cinemadng or redraw, you'll immediately notice how limiting the blackmagic raw is. But where it does shine is file sizes and the incredible speed.
