Great explanation and indisputable logic in your decision. You’ll love the loaded cab and thank yourself many times for the beet juice in the tires. We bought a NH T4 for feeding round bales because my wife does all the feeding. Beet juice keeps her tight to the ground lifting 4X6 bales on frozen ground. Bonus is she runs the tedder and square baler with it. 62 hp PTO. I get to stack in the barn…🤨
My wife will be doing all the feeding next winter until I recover. She hates the skid steer because of poor visibility and she says it feels tippy, which I can understand. After running this tractor for almost 7 hours feeding and pushing up manure piles, I am really liking it. And the ability to rake, ted, or countless other jobs this machine can do makes it that much more of a valuable asset to the farm
Great video! I just traded my Kioti DK40SE hydro on an LS MT357HC. I had the Kioti for 11 years and loved it. I was sure I would buy another Kioti, but when I went and looked at the LS tractors and saw what you get for the money... it was a no brainer. I was able to get a fully loaded LS for the same price as a stripped down Kioti. I run a sawmill as a hobby so I put my tractors through the paces.. skidding and hauling logs, etc. I have 82 hours on my LS now and have yet to find a weakness. It has only went through re-gen 3 times. It's super quiet, hydro is super smooth, hydraulics are strong, love the tire size, and the cab and Grammar seat... I am loving it. It seems to me that in the future the price of these machines might go up. In my area, I am seeing LS tractors popping up everywhere, and people are loving them. Make sure and check to see if your front tires rub your loader bracket at full turn and full articulation. Whenever loaders are mounted on this machine, the steering stops have to be re-adjusted (instructions are in the loader manual). I have noticed that a lot of dealers are leaving this step out, and guys are snapping tie rod ends when they bind. I just raised the front wheels using the loader, turned to full stop and articulated the axle to check. If they touch, you need to adjust. Good luck!!
150 hours now, 4 regen cycles. My tires will bind, however I am aware of the issue so I just don't turn sharp on uneven ground, otherwise the sharp turning is handy for me bedding cattle pens. Like anything, I am sure LS prices will increase but hopefully the stay reasonable. I am looking at adding a mt573 to my fleet next
Yes, dealer support is huge. A large part in the decision to buy this tractor was because our local co-op sells LS and massey.. And I've been told they have a couple very good younger mechanics that are very knowledgeable. So here's hoping!
I got caught up watching a video yesterday about "right to repair" it was mostly about John Deere and their demand to control all diagnostic software making the farmer completely and totally dependent on John Deere. I decided I would not like being in that situation. With the warranty being as long as you've got and your strategy of trading it off in the last year of the warranty I think you'll probably never have to be subjected to the concept of "right to repair". Thank you for talking about the horsepower and the price must be people won't mention those things.🙂☕
I'd lump most of the other brands in as well. Biggest thing is with the emissions, trade secrets, and software. Deere has more flak because their lobbying resembles of Apple for how they are going against it. Plus another reason is some of the vulnerabilities it has with its software.
Looks good interested how it stands up to the bales over time we never had much luck with 50hp or less feeding. And for deere I can't see buying for the prices they want. Just priced a baler 460 and it 10k more than a McHale and the 460 old tec no feeder no drop floor soft core an option for more on deere and McHale bale circles around the deere. My research if you want Deere used don't buy from a deere dealer.
"If I had the extra $28k in my pocket, I would have bought a Deere". Now that we know the cost difference and you were highlighting a Deere in these videos, we would be questioning your sanity. You and Melissa did great!
I would like to have a 8000 or 7000 series Deere, but they are crazy money right now! I guess I'll stick to my Blue one. Hope you have good luck with the new purchase!
I might have missed it, but did you look at Kubota, and if so which one. I have just seen the LS for the 1st time several weeks ago. It was at an independent tractor dealer that used to sell Kubota but didn't have enough sales and lost the Kubota brand. Looks like a nice tractor. I'm sure your family will enjoy it.
I expected a price difference, but not that much... Great video Brad! Really looking forward to seeing more.. and ya, anything bad too.. but as I figure it, if something bad happens, unless you find it to be an inherent issue, then it's just a 💩 happens..
Good day Wow JD wanted 28,000 more. It sounds good , I think if it is used above ground instead of ploughin discing, I think they have better chance. Also were is JD made? Alot of these co. were are they getting there's from, overe seas. Anyways good luck , sounds like u thought it out. Thanks Happy wife happy life.
Nice video and explanation Brad I’m looking forward to a review after some hours get put on. Another point I’d like to make as I bleed green as well is I have an issue with John Deere. After the union strike and how they don’t seem to care for their employees like John Deere himself did when he started the brand almost 200 years ago I find it hard to spend money with a corporation like that. When a companies stock price has almost quadrupled in 5 years and they can’t send some of that to the employees making the product I can’t get behind a business like that no matter how much I love green paint.
Absolutely Jessie, buying used is a little different than buying new because buying used your money stays local to where you bought it. Buying new pays the builder (mother deere) and the employees that built it.... seems like so many big businesses only worry about lining their pockets and do nothing for their employees
it seems like a good idea with the ground clearance.I know i Have been kicking around the ideal of a skid steer for feeding and that seems to be the limiting factor(i have no concrete). Does this new tractor mean you are going to be small squaring baling this year for the horse?
Should be a slick little tractor. I ran a similar Kubota last summer, so much different than the old stuff I’m used to, kept reaching for a clutch… What does it weight?
I Def will like to see how it runs for you long term since i know the LS based Case/NH have not been a big seller for them and most red dealers offer Kubota and some NH offer Kioti
Very nice. It's your money you don't have to justify it to us lol. It uses DEF? It'll probably sip it, but keep only one or two jugs at a time. Store in a cool, dry place.
No Def luckily! it has the regen burner/filter. They told me that when its time to regen just keep feeding/running it until its done, that way I won't feel like I am wasting time and fuel!
Hope the LS is better than the New Holland (TN75DA) tractor. Little things that they don't tell you about NH tractor like; hydro pump rated at 900 hrs, it has two of them. PTO solenoid valve went out 1000 hrs. 4 wheel drive shuttle control, you have to lift the cab off for that, 1300 hrs. Outside of that it was a good tractor and had plenty of power.
LS build tractors up to the 100 or 110 horse power range. Like Farming 4G said, the Boomer series is LS. I know there are a few other New Holland models that are a rebadged LS, but I haven't looked into which models exactly. Funny thing, New Holland offer some add on's for these tractors that LS doesn't. I have a small list started for my order from New Holland!
The only thing I’ll debate you on for ur reasoning as to buying this tractor over the Deere is the fact that the trade in value on the Deere will probably 28,000 more at least if not more then this one so your really not spending more.
Only other bad thing is interest rates at most banks and lenders i talked are back up to 5% or more. But yes, deere has better resale value! Most likely I will trade this one on the deere in a few years!
