I just had it done 2 days ago. Mine was neither simple nor quick. They got the wrong needle twice. They kept trying to push this blunt needle from the same spot in which didn’t pierce through fat layer. The third time was a success. They used 2 vials to draw the fluid. So it took like 10 seconds. The nurse didn’t seem to know what she was doing. I had contraction like pain and cramps after the procedure was done. It was so painful when I had to sneeze. The pain was like 7/10.
Odious system ( first scan) that put women under such stress at the early stages of pregnancy... but yes I did it for both my children and I was fine. No pain, very quick. I just wanted to know if everything was ok. It was in the late 90s and the waiting room was full. In Europe
What were your original numbers before you did the amnio? Mine is currently 1/36... waiting on the second blood then depeneding on how that goes, we'll desided if we wanna do the amnio.
I’m really scared got my results from bloods yesterday that my little one is high risk for Down’s syndrome they are now going to do a amniocentesis next week I’m only 20 and this is my second pregnancy
I had amniocentesis and the result came out positive for trisomy 21 but the ultrasound didn’t have a single marker . We terminated and I will never be at peace of Amniocentesis is reliable or not . If my baby boy had no abnormalities. We will never know 🥺
I believe that if they don’t examine and test the remains, how will we ever know if the amniocentesis is accurate. I’m looking for people who’ve had false positives with the amniocentesis. It’s so hard to find this data.
