This is a short video where I try to explain why I cut my hair after 5 years! Its been an amazing journey and this was not an easy decision, but I am ready for a new hairstyle (sisterlocks) that allows me more versatility yet still maintaining my hair in a manageable and natural state.

It looks amazing! With your face I would keeps it short and slightly trim for a while as you look so good with short hair.

Just had to say that you are gorgeous 💗😄!!! I just discovered your RU-vid today, so I know nothing about your traditional loc journey 😅, but sisterlocs look great on you!! I'm almost at a year-mark with my traditional locs and my hair is so thick I think I'll have the same issue as far as not being able to braid or do bantu knots (which were my absolute fav when my hair was loose 😭). I have always LOVED sisterlocks and wanted them but it was waaaaayyyyy too expensive 😞. Wishing you the best of luck with your new journey and that you keep loving it 💗.

Im going to do this with my hair. I've been locked close to 4 years and i recently thought of cutting my locs and growing out my hair natural but ive to say this is so attractive and much easier. Thanks for sharing, ill be keenly following and im a new subscriber.

You should've gotten your sisterlocs much bigger. Even the biggest size is still small which would've been a nice transition for you coming from traditional locs. Retightening is going to be a pain unless you go to a certified sisterloctian to retighten then you're all good. I'm about to get it done again for the 3rd time and this time I'm going to do the bigger size. One thing people never think about is how fast their hair grows and how long your hair takes to lock. So the advice I would give is pay attention to your hair growth and really research and see the different sizes and how it is maintained.

You sisterlocs look beautiful. I've also been locd for almost 5 years but as bored as I sometimes get with my hair, the thought of cutting them off scares. I guess that 'I am my hair'🙈

I totally feel you. It was honestly not easy. Even the day after I still questioned my decision. It only got easier after my sisterlocks. take your time :D

I looooooove!! It's been a year since i cut my locks and i wanted to grow an afro, but its the hardest thing to do with 4C hair! This is exactly what I want to do now, thank you Silvia! Any ideas on where i can do these in Dar es Salaam?
