I wanted to give all the people who commented on my last video my reasons for buying the Polaris boost instead of the 858. if you have any other questions drop them below. #catalyst #arcticcat #catalyst858 Snowmobiling
Had the same concerns as you did but ordered one anyway! Guess we’ll find out if I like the alpha. I’m a smaller guy as well, and I find the turbos are harder to handle than the n/a’s.
You aren’t the only one thinking it’s over priced for what it is. No 850 sled should be close to the price of what they are asking for them. When 9r and factory turbos are close
Im a huge cat fan i love cats i love the alpha skid !! It takes time to get used to them but when you do they are amazing i get lots of people dont like them but i think they dont give them a good chance, also the 4 wheel kit actually made a big difference i didnt think they would but they did. At the end of the day life is short and well boost is fun it just is. I got a whicked deal on a 24 boost 155 pro so i sadly said by to the cat. Im hoping to get onto a cat again in the future but like i said life is too short and im getting old lol getting close to 40 so my time is a lot more limited then someone late 20s early 30s. I wanted boost and cat didnt offer that. Also your point to the g8 display, i believe it will work in canada just not the buddy tracking feature which is massive !! You cant get it to work with anything else. At least the poo it works in canada and you can hook up to trail techs for your none 7s riding buddies. Hopefully cat/garmin work that out and can get buddy tracking to work and garmin treads can be used like the trail techs to hook up to the g8 displays. I had a lot of people disappointed and some mad at me when i let the cat go but again life is too short and i wanted to try out a boosted sled and im glad i did and also got into a new boost for cheaper then a new 858, i came across a smoking deal so yah there was that. Money does matter at the end of the day as well. 3000$ is too close. It needed to be about 7 difference. Someday i hope to be on a boosted catalyst.
@kylerfarms3650 ok everything I've read and heard was the group ride doesn't work in canada due to it being linked to the radio (group ride radio) that comes with it. You weren't able to even buy the tread standalone and use that as if you wanted group ride it came with the "group ride radio" more to be used in sxs then sleds. I don't think maybe sledders would care to have the radio function. And I believe that was due to the output being higher than the 2watt you can use in canada without having to have a license for higher wattage radios. Maybe they have since changed it and will not ship the canadian version with the radios idk. I'd love to get 100 percent clarity on this which will eventually come. If I can get a new cat with the g8 and have group ride capability then just try to convince my other friends to get the garman tread with group ride that'd be awesome. It still wouldn't connect to the 7s but right now I'm the only one in our group that rides a poo haha so if I sell it then no one would have a 7s anyways. I do think they should all come together and share that tech as it's just a safety feature in the backcountry, they shouldn't force you to have one sled brand over others if you want that capability.
Changed brands to Arctic Cat for the Alpha skid design and love it... coming from previously riding only Polaris, Catalyst seems cool but what the fuck why does it look exactly like a ugly ass Freeride Skidoo, make me puke...
$3,000.00 is a big chunk of money. Considering…..Polaris is the KING of breakdowns! Hopefully they have fixed there reliability issues. They seem to be unreliable for the past 5 years. 🥴🥴🥴👊
You would make way more money off your RU-vid videos if you were on an Arctic cat Polaris boost are boring to watch I'm sure you watched Snow West last review of the alpha on the catalyst
You would ride it venonmenally!!! Turbo’s are sooooo overrated. I guess it depends on what kind of terrain you are riding . If you are riding BIG Alpine wide open shit …then yea a Turbo would be Golden. I live in Utah and ride super tight trees and sugar powder. I want to rely on a N/A throttle response. Nothing beats that low end torque and response. But you Boys that ride BC…..then a turbo sled is more needed.
