Physics is hard. It was also hard for the greats like Einstein and Feynman. I think that the hard things in life attract those of us that are most comfortable when we are outside of our comfort zones. I couldn't imagine being one of those people that always want to take the easy route forward. No. Keep it new and interesting.
That’s admirable, to have the drive to explore the world, to push beyond your intellectual limits, to be okay with being uncomfortable. Just keep in mind other people prioritize other things. For you, an exciting life is a good fit, but other people might prefer a comfortable life. They prefer family, friends, probably a little more of balance. Being great at something does not easily correlate with a balanced life.
When you said "I wanted to be obsessed with the subject like them" and the part where you said that there was an excitement in his voice, I get you because even I hope to be someone like that. The kind of person who whenever talks radiates a certain energy of passion that it becomes contagious. I am studying to get into this college to become a doctor. Brains have always fascinated me and so has this universe. Hopefully I'll one day be able to research about the correlation between these two like some neurosurgeons and scientists out there. Thanks for the video it pumped me up to study a bit more.
Physics student here . Firstly, you have a way with...things. I appreciate and respect the way you find meaning and inspiration in the smallest of things/details. Secondly, when I first started physics, I also had this fear of not being able to solve problems. That fear crippled me. I thought it was just not for me. Not because I couldn't solve questions but the bigger reason was...I couldn't see the beauty in it which others described so vividly.I wanted to leave it ,but there was always something...some voice or maybe invisible string which pulled me to it.EVERYTIME. And so,I tried once more. But this time I told myself : Universe has created me. If I could be trusted to be in the world,I surely could be trusted with its working too! And slowly I started to understand and enjoy it. Ofcourse there is hardwork involved, but I believe hardwork could be enjoyable and fun too. This rambling was to tell anyone who is struggling that, Genius = Hardwork + Love. You have to put in the work with LOVE!! That's the only way to appreciate the BEAUTY.
wow this really hits home, i was studying electrical engineering for 2 years fully prepared to end up working at some power distribution company of the rest of my life. After listening to the Feynmann lectures I wondered what made this man so passionate about physics. Now I'm about to finish my first year in a physics degree!
You said, you listened Mr. Feynman's interview everyday.... And I'm saying, I play your videos at the start of everyday. They inspire me a lot. They guide me during hectic days. They tell me not leave the thing I love to do however hard it is.
There is a great feeling that one always get while doing something that is hard and difficult. It is good to be resilient while doing such things. I love your videos keep up the good work🎉
Keep posting videos like these! I have just started my major in Physics, this really helps with recalibrating my mindset towards the challenges faced so far
When i was in high school. I used to get pass mark or above in maths. Even my teachers told that i will fail. Today i completed my masters in physics with 7.47 cgpa (average ). I wasn't happy with this. Because i wanna do phd in physics. Now i am working to clear certain exams. May all your wish come true. ✨️
And what would prevent you from doing a PhD on physics? You just have to find the right advisor who will take a chance on you. Maybe not a theoretical physicist, though. ;-)
Physics is not only a subject but also the love, emotion and feelings of all physics lovers which can easily satisfy one explaining complex events in an interesting and attractive way.
Man you wont believe, im exactly dealing with what you dealt with. Im an aeronautical engineering student, for the past months im thinking why did i even become an engineer? Its pretty common for kids from Turkey, China, Pakistan, India to become engineers, doctors because of the parenting. I found the answer to my question, it was to live comfortably and earning well money. So if money was the answer i said, i should just do something with money to make money, instead of engineering. Thats how i become a day trader today. But this is not the end to this story. Im learning how to make money so that i can get my financial freedom. After that i was pondering about studying physics. It really amazez me how you think and study what actual geniuses thought and studied, the endless effort to answer the questions about life it self. Even if my efforts couldnt lead me into answers, i will die happy knowing that at least i asked and thought about these questions. While i continue to make money, i will deeply thought about this commitment. Thanks for this video man, made me realize i was not alone with this.
I'm an engineering student, and physics has always inspired me, to work smarter.. I too love binging to feynmann's interviews from time to time! I thought I was 😔
Idk if you have ever came across the works of Philippe Halsman before, but he took a very inspiring photograph of Robert Oppenheimer Jumping. The way Oppenheimer reaches out into the sky reveals his true natural unconscious behavior to aim for what others cannot even perceive of. Halsmans tends to ask his celebrity guests who are coy to do something playful in order to take their minds off of being photographed. This is to help psychologically coax the "truth" out of the subject. This includes jumping. Other jumping pictures Halsman captured shows the subject hug their knees, or curl up in a foetal-like ball, but the one with Oppenheimer show his desperate attempts to reach for the sky.
I watch your videos since long time now but this is the first time I watched this one, and it came in a very good time because I'm a 3rd year engineering student but I'm not enjoying it I've always wanted to do theoretical physics, But I'm still struggling to find a way into the field because of my personal situation and I started having doubts and all that, so seeing this video and knowing that you were studying engineering as well but now you get to do PhD in theoretical physics at Harvard is really helpful. Thank you for the great videos.
It kinda hits hard, I am CS major and since like my middle school I was very fascinated by physics and how this universe could be described just with mathematical equations. I watch pretty much every physics and mathematics related documentaries because like it was so fascinating. Feynman interviews and his biography are very inspiring!! I always wanted to do physics but I'm Indian and I come from middle class background so after my high-school I managed to get decent uni and my parents were like go for CS It's better and "secure" and quick to earn option. And eventually ended up here and I'm in my 3rd year of CS. Still I try to catch up with physics stuff.
hi bro , its such a coincidence we both share the same situation. yeah doing msc in india can be very risky for us , i too am an MCA student. which college are your from , you probably are pursuing btech i am assuming.
Hello Quantum Boy! I'm a sophomore in highschool and I'm about to pick what career I want to pursue. I always wanted to be a physicist but I've never been that good with numbers, yet whenever I think of a career I envision myself solving numerical problems. Your videos are a great source of inspiration cause I want to study in a great university. I hope one day I can study in one and find my topics of interests! Have a nice one and best wishes to you and your girlfriend :)
I love your videos. when I watched your videos, my soul started to fly in America's skies, my heart started to bloom, and tears started to grow in my eyes. So, thanks, because I love this type of video.
I want to study physics because of Carl Sagan and Stephan Hawking they inspired me to look beyond our limits and follow our dreams and my goal in life is to become the greatest Astrophysicist ever thank you for another deep yet soothing vlog , loved it
You’re a good story teller. I like your way to share. Your voice sounds like a little bit blue. You prefer always alone? I enjoy my alone moment, but also I can have a lots of fun with friends. Maybe that’s why I chose business as my major. Communicate with people and solve the problem which full fill me. Physics is the hardest courses I think though my mathematics is good. Both of the classes are big different right? Hope you will have more friends. Enjoy your studying is Okay, having fun with classmates and friends is full of lots of fun too. Don’t always alone. And also I don’t know your watch, it’s very expensive? Enjoy your campus life is more fun and important than the expansive watches. I don’t know how and what’s rich people’s life is. Enjoying your school is always the best and happiest experience in our life. Right? Have more friends. Good luck
I'm in the last year of high school and the truth is I'm not good with numbers, it's a bit difficult for me to understand even so I would like to study physics to be an astrophysicist, can I be good at physics despite not being the best in mathematics?
@@sksiwiusi7094 I hated math while in school and never understood why I was bad at it, UNTIL, I came across my middle school report cards which told a different story. I was actually very good at math, even more so than english which was my strongest suite in high school. But somewhere during senior seconday school i failed math and since then could never do it upto high school ever. I hated it. Now im out of school and i bough some children’s mathematics books and BOY O BOY, have I rekindled my love for math. I think u should start from the basics again, redo 5th class math upto high school as im doing and honestly IT FEELS AMAZING! Physics is incomplete without math. Lets do it together ❤️
@@sarangdeepsingh I hope you continue with your love of mathematics every day, I suppose it must be very nice to have to understand it without difficulty. LUCK!🍀
hi i am from india . i did my bsc from physics but in msc physics from india , the job aspect of it is really really less. the reason i am seeing the monetary side of it is becoz i am not financially well and its imp too to look at this side. i can make a choice of getting a masters degree from abroad like Germany , coz its probably cheap. but again i might have to take up huge loan for that. look can be cleared once you are earning after masters degree , so can you tell me what are then job aspects after your degree in physics? i also would like to know what's in your curriculum coz here india its still very old (hopefully we will see some change in the future but for now its not dependable ). - what do you think if i go for MS in computer science?
A masters degree doesn't buy you anything in hard science. It has to be PhD. Having said that... if you are not 100% set on physics, then don't do it. It's not for you, already. CS is far easier and you might get a low level job with a masters. In physics you won't get anywhere with a masters.
